Mark Viduka signs for Newcastle - 2 years + 1 more optional
Leazes1986 replied to a topic in Football
These last few days since SA came here, every morning i've got up to read positive news about Newcastle. Please be true. -
Can people not accept that he is never gonna get rid of his mental problem? Here is our chance to get a good defence together for the first time in most of our lives probably.
-
Nah that really is scraping the barrel.

Taylor must start next season imo, but we need to bring in an experienced centre back to play alongside him. It will be better for Newcastle in the long run if we sign someone like Campbell to play him alongside Taylor, rather than signing Campbell but dropping Taylor. It'll do more damage to Taylor in the end. He can be a great defender for us so we should try and get the very best out of a quality experienced centre half and use him to bring the full potential out of Taylor. Its obvious we need to bring in more than one centre half but i would start with Taylor. I've been very impressed with him lately. He's suffered for not having a good defensive partner, so lets not waste this oppurtunity now and get in someone he can learn from while he is still young.

As much as we love Pav we can't be sentimental here. We can easily find an adequate 3rd choice keeper and allow Krul to go out on loan. Its not as if our 3rd choice keeper is gonna be used at all next season. This season was just a freak season. I think the best thing we could do is get a decent 3rd choice keeper who knows that he is only here as backup, and loan Krul out next season and see how he does. If he is playing at League One level next season then if he does great he can move onto the Championship the year after. Same goes for if he's playing in the Championship next season then if he does well then maybe a Premiership club will take a gamble with him the year after. I think everyone needs to get Palermo out of their heads though. He was absolutely brilliant that night but i've seen people on here say he will be one of the best keepers in europe in a few years. He's only young and 2 years out on loan will do him the world of good. Forget keeping him for the bench here for now. Maybe a few years out on loan then a year as Given's understudy then he can think about first team football here.

I think thats how a lot of people feel. If Roeder or Souness had of gone for old players or unknown cheap players then i wouldn't have been convinced but i have faith in Allardyce when it comes to bringing them in because if anyone can get the best out of a player then it is him. Not neccassarily Sol Campbell like because i wouldn't have minded Roeder signing him, but just players in general.

None. Bramble's never gonna be a good Premiership defender, Gooch didn't show much at all, Bernard's finished, Moore's too slow and injury prone, and Pav frightened the hell out of me when we played Bolton away.
-
Its the first website i check every day but sometimes they do write crap. I've just read that Bramble stuff about 10 minutes ago and i couldn't believe what they were saying. Still, i'm glad nufc.com exists because for some of the stuff they write i strongly disagree with, it also has some very good information on it.

Its been an absolutely brilliant couple of days to be a Newcastle fan. Remember all of the doom and gloom a week or so ago. Now we've got a quality manager and we've got rid of a few clowns and its given all massive hope blueyes.gif People need to realize that Bramble will never be a quality defender. He has the physical attributes, but he doesn't have the mental ones and he will never have them. Its fair to say he will have his best two games of the season against us next season, but who gives a shit?
-
I think he'll have a look at him in training then decide. I give up on him a long time ago
-
Allardyce said he wants four or five players as it stands plus he said he'll need to replace some outgoing players.
-
Nolan is a very good mifielder and is exactly the sort of player we should be looking at. Anelka is a twat, but nobody can doubt his quality. The only way i can see us going for him is if Owen or Martins go. Or if both went then maybe Anelka and Bent?
-
They could make it out of jelly and we'd still pick up injuries. Them days are over now blueyes.gif
-
Carr and Babayaro have absolutely no chance of lasting here and thats not just down to their limited ability. Does anyone really think they will get through one of Big Sam's training and fitness sessions?
-
I definitely think theres a big chance of the Smogs being in a relegation battle. Viduka will probably be away. I don't wish injury on Woody though. Hope he has a great 7-8 years ahead of him now. He'll be away from Boro anyway in 2 years maximum imo.
-
Scored against Bradford in the Worthington Cup at SJP as well i think, when Shearer scored twice.
-
Maybe Shepherd released the info about the clause via a 3rd party because he wants him of the wage bill, and now he's coming out and saying this stuff about wanting Owen to stay to cover his backside
-
Drunk on a Tuesday neet. Good stuff.
-
By clean slate i think he will mean disciplinary problems over the past few weeks are in the past, rather than every player at the club is gonna stay here with a clean slate. He will know in his own mind who is good enough and who is not.

Allardyce confirmed as Newcastle manager - 3 year deal.
Leazes1986 replied to Paully's topic in Football
I wonder if he'll do what Roeder planned to do with the youngsters and loan them out. Hopefully he brings enough players in to be able to do this. I think he will have a good look at Andy Carroll. Bulk him up a bit and he might turn out to be a very useful player for Allardyce in a year or two. -
Would make my fucking season if West Ham got deducted 20 points and finished 19th, with Sunderland 20th Can't see it somehow though.
-
"Off topic but while we're on the subject". That didn't make sense actually
-
Off topic here but while we're on the subject of Manure players, would anyone take Smith? He's back to full fitness and he's looking good. I don't know if Manure will sell him but if they sign a new striker its a possibility. I would take him for the right price.
