  1. I've seen Man City fans slag Barton of in the same way some of you lot slag Parker of as well.
  2. On a slightly different note, what the hell has Emre got to offer? Nice player to watch on the eye, but absolutely no end product
  3. "I have it on good authority that Freddy Shepherd will reject any forthcoming offer from Mike Ashley for his 29.8% stake in the club. Indeed, you would have a right to feel sorry for the Newcastle chairman who while all this was done behind his back, was actually in hospital ill with pneumonia with Terry McDermott by his bedside trying his best to keep his spirits up, while his wife is still seriously ill, and his grandchildren are suffering from an eating disorder. Shepherd might not have the best rapport with the clubs fans, but they know he is a geordie, and wants whats best for the club. There is abslolutely no chance of the chairman accepting this offer, and it wouldn't surprise me if he upped his stake in the club now. Meanwhile the latest word on the grapevine is that Sam Allardyce will be trying his best to bring in Brett Emerton. Talks are going so well i expect him to be a Newcastle player by the weekend at the latest. Reports that Termuti Ketsbaia once played for Newcastle are wide of the mark"
  4. I was thinking about that one as well. I remember him making a brilliant sliding tackle in the box early on. It was the first time i could remember seeing such a cool head on a Newcastle defender. Shame we couldn't have brought him back really, i bet Allardyce's training methods would keep him in best shape possible.
  5. The competition between Babsy and Baines would be an interesting situation. There will be no competition. Babayaro is sooooo gone. Should Baines get injured, who do we have for back-up? I don't think Allardyce will fancy Babayaro one bit. I think he might also look to bring in an older experienced left back on the cheap, or maybe a cheap one from a league or two down at a decent age.
  6. Aye, unfortunately we never seen much more of that sort of performance until 2 years later.
  7. Great shout. Definitely the best goalkeeper debut i've seen for us. Wasn't Harpers debut against the Smogs? Could be wrong, but he had a blinder that neet.
  8. Whats the best performance you've ever seen by a toon player on their debuts? I'll have a think for mine.
  9. Because Bale is overhyped because of the age he has broke through and a few free kicks. Baines is older and he didn't make an impact at such an early age.
  10. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/chroniclesport/tm_headline=big-sam-eyes-baines-swoop%26method=full%26objectid=19187708%26siteid=50081-name_page.html Would be a very good signing imo.
  11. Everyone needs to calm down here. Clarkie is obviously staying, but i thought that would happen anyway. Absolutely nothing to back up that line about Terry Mac and Pearson though.
  12. Sir Bobby could have saved us a fortune a few years ago
  13. Best thing for all concerned imo. He's come in and surprised us all with a few goals and always given 100%. The fans appreciate his efforts and he can now go and find another club. This is another bit of encouraging news. Thats Pav, Bramble, Moore, Gooch, Bernard and Sibierski out of the door.
  14. Viduka not much better than Ameobi? Fucking hell am i still pissed or have i just read that?
  15. These last few days since SA came here, every morning i've got up to read positive news about Newcastle. Please be true.

Can people not accept that he is never gonna get rid of his mental problem? Here is our chance to get a good defence together for the first time in most of our lives probably.

    Sol Campbell

Nah that really is scraping the barrel.

    Sol Campbell

Taylor must start next season imo, but we need to bring in an experienced centre back to play alongside him. It will be better for Newcastle in the long run if we sign someone like Campbell to play him alongside Taylor, rather than signing Campbell but dropping Taylor. It'll do more damage to Taylor in the end. He can be a great defender for us so we should try and get the very best out of a quality experienced centre half and use him to bring the full potential out of Taylor. Its obvious we need to bring in more than one centre half but i would start with Taylor. I've been very impressed with him lately. He's suffered for not having a good defensive partner, so lets not waste this oppurtunity now and get in someone he can learn from while he is still young.
  19. As much as we love Pav we can't be sentimental here. We can easily find an adequate 3rd choice keeper and allow Krul to go out on loan. Its not as if our 3rd choice keeper is gonna be used at all next season. This season was just a freak season. I think the best thing we could do is get a decent 3rd choice keeper who knows that he is only here as backup, and loan Krul out next season and see how he does. If he is playing at League One level next season then if he does great he can move onto the Championship the year after. Same goes for if he's playing in the Championship next season then if he does well then maybe a Premiership club will take a gamble with him the year after. I think everyone needs to get Palermo out of their heads though. He was absolutely brilliant that night but i've seen people on here say he will be one of the best keepers in europe in a few years. He's only young and 2 years out on loan will do him the world of good. Forget keeping him for the bench here for now. Maybe a few years out on loan then a year as Given's understudy then he can think about first team football here.

    Sol Campbell

I think thats how a lot of people feel. If Roeder or Souness had of gone for old players or unknown cheap players then i wouldn't have been convinced but i have faith in Allardyce when it comes to bringing them in because if anyone can get the best out of a player then it is him. Not neccassarily Sol Campbell like because i wouldn't have minded Roeder signing him, but just players in general.
  21. None. Bramble's never gonna be a good Premiership defender, Gooch didn't show much at all, Bernard's finished, Moore's too slow and injury prone, and Pav frightened the hell out of me when we played Bolton away.

    nufc.com

Its the first website i check every day but sometimes they do write crap. I've just read that Bramble stuff about 10 minutes ago and i couldn't believe what they were saying. Still, i'm glad nufc.com exists because for some of the stuff they write i strongly disagree with, it also has some very good information on it.

Its been an absolutely brilliant couple of days to be a Newcastle fan. Remember all of the doom and gloom a week or so ago. Now we've got a quality manager and we've got rid of a few clowns and its given all massive hope blueyes.gif People need to realize that Bramble will never be a quality defender. He has the physical attributes, but he doesn't have the mental ones and he will never have them. Its fair to say he will have his best two games of the season against us next season, but who gives a shit?
