  1. Keep saying it, but we are a striker's dream. If I were a decent striker looking for a move and wanting to progress my career I'd be banging on Newcastle's door.
  2. Quite incredible how fucked up they are.
  3. Man U's strongest team, including Mbuemo and Sesko (just saying like), were beaten by a Grimsby side that included three players who had recently been at Spennymoor, Gateshead or Blyth Spartans Deservedly so as well.
  4. That was Man U's strongest team playing at the end and Grimsby had three players who'd recently been with Spennymoor, Gateshead or Blyth Spartans.
  5. Yes, they'll definitely take the maximum 6,000 or whatever it is.
  6. From what I've seen so far this season long throws look t be back in vogue. No longer just something for Stoke or Wimbledon. The scousers were using it from the start and it looks like we've been working on Tino's throws. They were good and BDB really had their defenders rattled and should have had at least one penalty, if the laws had been applied fairly. I've always wondered why teams don't use it more and it worked really well for us when we were down to ten men, from a game management point of view.
  7. One of the worst moments for me on Monday evening was towards the end of normal time when our fans started singing "You're not singing any more" towards the scousers. Aren't these people aware of what has happened in this fixture far too often ? Please save the gloating until the end
  8. Generational talents iirc.
  9. I sit just in front of there (PC) and got to say I wasn't aware of anything That said I was pretty wrapped up in the game There was (allegedly) a bit kerfuffle in one of the boxes and I saw a young lad with a half and half scarf in the Barracks doorway, which personally I find more offensive than if he'd just worn a Liverpool one.
  10. PL cartel member vs club with top four aspirations ? That match illustrated that it's not just off the field that they are influencing football's future.
  11. Reality is although he may not be Isac you don't need to be Isac to score 15 - 20 goals in this team. It's a decent striker's dream the way we set up and play. It could be the making of him or someone like Hoejland.
  12. Yes he looked world class that day against Chelsea. Seemed like he almost beat them single handed.
  13. Sunderland til we lose, or it rains, or it's not particularly attractive opposition. STWLOIROINPAO.
  14. Yep, and even more reason why we should stand firm and not do business with them.
  15. Unpalatable as it is, I definitely think what serves our interests best is he stays for now and we sell within the next year, absolutely under our terms and when more top clubs around Europe have had time to prepare to make substantial bids. It's beyond crazy to think there could only be one club, who want to do it on the cheap, in for a world class striker like him.
  16. Never been any different. Most fickle fans in football
  17. Way behind on this discussion but looks like the club have definitely won the statements game. Isac's was poor, lacked any substance at all and seemed undignified in it's timing and delivery. The club would have won even if they'd said nothing but whoever was penning theirs is a lot smarter than whoever penned Isac's.
  18. Just to provide a little dramatic relief to the discussion Mike Amos's Grass Routes blog was discussing Ankles Bennet a few days ago and saying the nickname may actually have been Arkle. Mind like you I only ever knew him as Ankles
  19. Mackem said a few hours ago that he couldn't understand fans' obsessions with attendances and then spends all night providing forensic evidence trying to justify a claim about an "attendance". Went in a huff a while ago and said he would not be back here, just to reappear when it suited and spend hours arguing. There has to be something really weird about a person who wants to spend so much time on a platform created for fans of a club they despise.
  20. TBH Osula could be considered a replacement for the Wilson of today. Arguably more effective on the pitch and much less likely to be laid up. Say that with the greatest respect for CW who has been an outstanding PL striker earlier in his career, and also understanding that a new striker was needed in addition to Osula and Isac.
  21. They had 42K every game last season as well. Honest. It was only some strange optical illusion which often made it look like half that number If they keep getting "full houses", their decades long record of having the most empty seats of any stadium in England (although maybe MK Dons give them competition nowadays?) could be under threat. Wouldn't bet against them keeping it though.
