  1. We just signed their top scorer too. Should be a tasty one. https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/lumsden-it-is-definitely-the-perfect-fit/
  2. I can't really understand a 1 out CM in, when it's Wilson/Miggy going out. Its not paid off gambling not getting a 3rd striker in the summer, now joelinton isn't even available to cover if Isaks injured. If Wilson got sold we would still need a CM but also another striker. While we have a little more cover for Miggy, it's also a losing situation. He is better than Murphy and shifting Gordon/Barnes there isn't great. All assuming those three stay fit. Just a hugely frustrating window so far.
  3. Wrexham is the commercial hype game but the biggest banana skin which scares the shit out of me. Not least as my brother is a Wrexham fan. Can't be having that.

    Lewis Hall

I can understand the limited LB minutes and using Burn. We have needed his experience. We also know Howe likes being careful with new talent, especially given his age. He clearly has ability though and is so young still. It's the proper refusing to play him when we need subs that makes everything point to the appearances and make it more confusing. Maybe the structure of the payments changes with appearances rather than the obligation. A certain amount of appearances might mean we are obligated to give Chelsea a wedge more than we want this year? ?‍♂️
  5. Why no title change to "Genuinely ill" Miggy Almiron?
  6. So we are not technical and full of energy as we hoped thus far.
  7. I agree although maybe there is a scenario the clubs have agreed a deal and now it hinges on Migggy accepting, like ASM. They don't want to air that publically if he simply refuses. Still like you say.. whats the difference everyone would still know sooner or later. Are there any PL or FA rules about not fielding players when available? Don't think so.
  8. Spurious link maybe but fits our recruitment strategy. https://onefootball.com/fr/news/newcastle-eyeing-shock-swoop-for-man-united-academy-contract-rebel-omari-forson-38940944 19 year old striker. Debuted for the first team and has made the bench for Manure a few times. Out of contract in the summer.
  9. I'm good with this. He is such a huge influence. Hopefully it doesn't get in his head.
  10. Honestly have zero idea how the next week and a half is going to pan out. We could sell three huge players, maybe more? Sell no players, bring in 3 players, bring in none. Can't even say for sure what position we will bring in! What a mental end to arguably the most boring first half of a window in years.
  11. Same reason they let Palmer and others go. They are producing so many quality youngsters but have limited opportunites in the first team given how great their first team squad is. You would think the system would be selling players like Foden for an obscene profit and moving players up but its not just straight forward all the time and if you can keep the best players, why not.
  12. He was on the periphery with Man City, training with the first team and playing with the reserves. I expect he would be the same here but quite likely he gets some first team sub minutes with us.
  13. Expect we will deal on £15-17m. Whether they push that high we shall see. Haven't we been linked with a couple of RBs the last couple of months. I'm sure we will have a game plan for all potential player departures. That's Ashworth and his teams job. Also one he excelled at down at Brighton. The youth system was in better shape than ours though.
  14. Beat me too it! He looks a massive prospect. Can't have come cheap and surprised we got him.
  15. It's time. In a toon shirt by windows end. Banned for betting for a year and half on February 3rd.
  16. All fun and games before I erroneously scrolled down and these were the highlighted responses.
  17. No chance though. We would be talking 50-60m at least. That said, if we are upgrading who wouldnt cost that much. Would be fantastic though. Could see the rumours of Jonathan David being true as well if Wilson is shipped out.
  18. Right you are. Missed that! Sell away, sell away.. This was nearly a week ago. "Howe has confirmed the winger is back in light training. Expected return: Fulham (A) - 27/01" https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/joelinton-joe-willock-jacob-murphy-newcastle-united-injury-list-return-dates-after-surgery-blow-4480188
  19. Provided everyone is happy with the stategy and we aren't hiring someone that decides to go a different direction. I assume he would have sold them on that old Swansea/Brighton route of "this is the blueprint and our club style" so if a manager or employee leaves the strategy remains the same and recruitment for all positions at the club would be lined up to fit that mandate/blueprint. Maybe Howes buddy from Bournemouth that seemed underwhelming seem more attractive as he might stick to the plan and take the opportunity with both hands rather than someone with a bigger name in the game letting ego or their own ideas get in the way to make a mark and not live in Ashworths shadow. Or the tweet might be bs and Ashworth stays lol
  20. Can't see him leaving. Murphy isn't close to a return. I guess we can shoehorn Barnes or Gordon there but like selling Wilson, we would need two replacements as we are already short. Also like Wilson and Trippier, we won't get more money for them than we will right now. I get why he would be on the list of options to sell. Would mean bringing in a much better RW this window though. I'd take the upgrade as much as I'd love to keep miggy as squad depth.
