  1. Best of luck Jamaal. What a servant he has been to the club. Hope he gets lots of play time. Deserves a testimonial.
  2. Shame we didnt sign a top level striker instead of one that might be ok in the championship as a backup.
  3. Back to forgetting what closing players down is. Perfect. At least it hasnt cost us goals.
  4. Get all 11 off, they cant handle playing Liverpool.
  5. Tactics weren't bad. Defending was honking.
  6. Get Gordon off ffs. Unbelievable. He can't handle playing Liverpool.
  7. The line up... I mean, wtf.. ah fuck it, I am all in.
  8. Battle of the "cant play against a low block" masters. Be dissapointed if we dont play a low block tbh.
  9. Maybe the most feel good end to a transfer window when he made his surprise return. Remember hearing it on the way home on the radio. Was buzzing.
  10. We have got so many fucking tabs open. It is no wonder everything is so slow and we keep crashing.

    Joe Willock

We desperately need him and Ramsey back on form over the next month and playing like they did tonight. Great to see. We all know the talent is there. Its the inconsistencies through injuries or lack of games that hurts them.
  12. Great performance in the end but without reinforcements a run much further is unlikely. Could have won it and likely deservedly had we scored a 2nd. No idea how we are going to survive this next month without a fallout that is going to see toys thrown out of prams with our inevitable results. On the upside, you cant rule out Eddie pulling something out of the hat.
  13. Aye I would have thought 3-5 a season and loaning them out, selling on or hoping they fill the underbelly of the squad. We have done well at the earlier age level. Guess thats the long term bet. I was just expecting more that would have helped out squad depth. There is a big time/age gap so far.
  14. Absolutely a big potential clean the decks for a new manager to come in if PIF want. - Quite a few out the door with contracts up. - Probably case in on at least one or two of Tino/Gordon/Bruno/Tonali going for big money whether we like it or not. - Fringe players like Willock/Osula maybe even Murphy could be shifted. Transfer pot would be potentially large. All that and no first team additions aside, I cant understand why we haven't been buying more youth players for the reserves that can give us more depth over time.
  15. Well we dominated possession. Other than the great start, we were under the cost a bit for much of the first half and bullied in midfield. The fact Villa sat back and let us have the ball is maybe a little lost. We were better getting possession but equally poor creating opportunities. So a net win.
  16. Like Eddie's subs and tactical flexibility. React calmly and painfully slowly, often too late to do anything meaningful. I think they are just hell bent on doing it organically and not looking like they bought the league (even though we can't anymore with PSR and big 6 tantrums). Even with the the huge chance at promotion for the women, it seems like they are happy to play the longer term waiting game for consistency. It is to a point, refreshing in a world of quick fix, impatient decisions and manager merry go rounds. Incredibly frustrating though at times when be more proactive makes all the difference come season end.
  17. Its tough to know what PIF will do this summer. If we don't advance past the next round of at least on of the cups and miss out on Europe that is a massive risk for Eddie's future. On one hand they have shown as owners they can be ruthless with cutting Becky Langley (albeit not long before time). Then on the other they seem very happy to take a VERY slow long build rather than go for broke. I think there really has to be a notable step up manager out there and available that wants to come to even consider the switch. Players haven't downed tools and Eddie has proven he can turn things around. It is so frustrating to watch for vast periods of the last year or so. We are so consistently inconsistent. It has really been more than a year of losing that dynamite attacking and pressing juggernaut we had previously. Not on Eddie. Teams were going to find us out and adapt and injuries wise we also had to adapt (are we actually seeing less injuries after dropping the press btw?). What is on Eddie is a failure to adapt. Much to his ire when accused, the suggestion of no plan b or c. More so a reticence to switch to one, over playing players and not rotating or putting faith into the squad. That can be justified but not when a good 60% are his own signings now that arent performing. Ross Wilson and his team have loads to do to help. We haven't even seen any youth signings for a good while now. Surely we can at least be doing that? For what he has done for us it is harsh to say but I believe he has the next 4 and a bit months to give himself another go. If it goes badly then it is the perfect time for a new manager (if a clear upgrade is available) with almost certain overhauling of the squad happening this summer with contracts and likely bids for Tino, Gordon, Tonali and others. Best of luck Eddie. We all want you to succeed.
  18. Was going to take a little adjusting coming from RB back in CM. Did bloody great as usual. Think lots of us are going to be annoyed when he (and Hall) doesn't make the upcoming England squads this year. This lad is so composed and adaptable.
  19. A couple of good crosses today and a bright spark. The opposite of Gordon. If Elanga could beat his man and Gordon could cross we would have two PL starting wingers.
  20. FT. Tough loss that. And big missed chance for the promotion race. Need a marquee signing. Preferably two.
  21. Fully deserved from Villa. I think everyone is tired of posting this but EVERY team knows they can give us as much of the ball as they want and we wont score. Pick your moment and you will hit us on the break and score. We HAVE to change if we want anything out of this season other than missing out on Europe.
  22. Forgot Woltemade was on the pitch and just spent the last two minutes scanning the pitch for him before posting as I was doubting he actually did come on.
