  1. Pretty insane we could potentially have an entirely new back four in a couple of weeks. Also a huge gamble, especially when at least half of the back four hasn't played in in PL before. We have to hit the ground running and pick up wins. Not much time to bed people in.
  2. Much rather have gini back than Ramsey.
  3. Can see us looking for and willing to shell out for a younger star alongside also signing an experienced stirker to help bed him in. Seems like we are doing a bit of both this window. Players like botman could be with us for near a decade. Getting an Aubrmeyeng or proven in the league striker to ease the pressure could definitely happen imo.
  4. Sure its already been mentioned but short term end to the season? Probably not worth the sign on money at this stage in his career.
  5. Giggsy? https://romapress.net/sven-botmans-agent-confirms-roma-interest/ calciomercato.it playing games again. Quotes from Botman's agent though, seems the same as AC Milan. Too expensive and we have the advantage.
  6. Cant see Origi being available, certainly not for 7m. Complete no brainer if he was. Looking who reported it for the Telegraph tells me it is BS. Striker links seem a complete crap shoot so far. No idea who we are actually interested in. Agree with @TRon Aubameyeng will be on the cards late in the window if we are still looking and have got one Striker in already. Can see the same being the case with Digne and Ramsey. Priority has to be the CB, DM and Striker over the next week or so and then see where we are at. Cantwell is a bit like Ramsey for me. Both have risk and both not especially what we need to prioritise. Great if we get a proper animal DM as well. Something tells me Cantwell as a young English player would do well under Howe but we didn't see much improvement from Longstaff, Hayden got dropped and Willock seems to have gone backwards so far. We need to stay clear of any risky signings imo. We can't afford to go down. (well actually I guess we can, I would just rather we didn't). Botman and Carlos would be jaw dropping. I know they both play generally as the LCB but Carlos is definitely right footed so they could play together or in a back three. Maybe we are looking to a back three with Trippier and a new LWB to negate the need of buying a DM this window. Still would rather we buy a DM.
  7. So we haven't even made a second bid yet because they never rejected the first?
  8. Clearly the Italian media just saving face for AC Milan that Botty boy would rather move to the Championship than Serie A. Hope the telegraph info is true. If it is I see him coming just after the weekend. Lots of noise that sounds more like Digne and we aren't his first choice too.
  9. He did say he was looking forward to the game in his interview, which I thought hinted to involvement. Didn't sound like it was from a watching the game point of view!

    Lucas Digne

If we are after Digne it's likelu because there has been some encouragement by the agent. Expect we are low on his list of options but still on it. PL is probably a high priority which is why we aren't moving on to Tagliafico yet? Tbf we could actually be after a 3rd LB as our number one priority. Don't think the press have a scooby what's actually going on!
  11. Some more on Ramsey. Interview with Sky Italy correspondent Francesco Cosatti. Likely already posted, if so, sorry! https://www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/12040/12475651/aaron-ramsey-whats-gone-wrong-for-former-arsenal-midfielder-at-juventus "There are many aspects. First of all, the many injuries and physical problems. Ramsey has never finished two consecutive games in full at Juventus.
  12. If Ryan Sessegnons body didn't seem so knackered he might be worth a sneaky loan bid. He would also likely be playing for spurs. Torrid season for him.
  13. It would be nice to see him cameo but I can understand the risk of playing him, even for 10 mins or so with a lower league team that might fancy a few harder and wreckers tackles. Trippier is very fit and only played a couple of days ago. Getting him match fit isn't an issue. A cameo won't do much more than training with the squad and training matches in terms of aclimatizing him. He has played at SJP and in the PL before so it's not like he should need any time bedding into the league.
  14. If he is actually interested in the move I reckon we will get him. We are surely going back in for him. Can't be getting him and botman if they both just play LCB. The thought of him next to Lascelles scares the shit out of me though. We definitely need a calm intelligent head that will organize and relax the backline. Maybe trippier will do that.
  15. it is "monitoring" for the new age. That or this is our new interview question list: Where's your life headed? How do you think you will die? What are the highest and lowest points of your life? What is holding you back from being the person you want to be? How have your strengths help you to succeed? ... What are your biggest goals for your life? ... Who are you really?
  16. The worry is less about money, if we buy him and he doesn't work out he will be replaced with better. It's more a worry for me if him coming in blocks another CM coming in that would contribute more. If we get a monster DM and bring Ramsey in too I am all for it. He is worth a gamble and I think he will absolutely be motivated.
  17. They have dressed him up as a soldier and are using Zimmer staggered arrangement of nimrod from Dunkirk with the tag line.. "He's come home."
  18. Was pictured waving goodbye to a fan from the bench though. Edit: could have been picking his nose.
  19. Blind optimism and a private jet from Switzerland lol
  20. Seems pretty nailed on he will end up at Villa or Arsenal. Only reports linking him to us the past few weeks have been about him not being interested. Can absolutely see him at Villa with Gerrard.
  21. It's Antero Henrique, he is just in high heels.
  22. That is who is standing next to trippier in the picture to be fair.
  23. Lewis and Manquillo are solid backups for the short term. Lewis is still young enough we could potentially loan him out next year. I wouldn't write him off completely yet.
  24. According to Romano we want two CB's this window and an entirely new back four, so it's possible.
