  1. As if we could even run fast.
  2. Good thing carr is back and controlling transfers. What a buffoon of a manager we have.
  3. Tomorrow, 3pm announcement. Ok, not funny. Make your mind up.
  4. Let's see if we get a training gallery on .co.uk gaffer jones first day.
  5. This is probably spot on about Yedlin. The goals we conceded when the ball was nonchalantly floated over his head to an unmarked winger were numerous. Sometimes his pace saved him but more than not it ended up a goal. He was solid in the championship and half decent the year after. He is yet another player we should have already dumped along with Ritchie, Gayle, Shelvey and I don't mind being overly harsh and likely wrong in saying Clark, who has done well for us this year. Just all limited players that should have been replaced with better. It is no surprise we are always in the mire when we reward them with new contracts instead of shipping them out and upgrading. Having squad depth with limited or aging players that don't kick up a fuss is fine when it isn't approaching half your squad.
  6. It is amazing how we have fallen that a vast majority (myself included) would on the face of it think we have done well with King, Choudhury and Willems coming in. In reality has Willems even played a game since he was with us? Choudhury has played barely 6 games worth of football this year and King often flatters to deceive. If fit they could all be smart business but knowing our luck we won't get many games out of any of them.
  7. Contract runs until 2026 Almost as epic as his rebirth that leads Senegal to the World cup glory where he is hailed as the player of the year at the tender age of 35. He subsequently leaves us on a free to Fleetwood.
  8. To be fair, all those pics, it is high time he rose to the occasion. They have given him all that dough to get the job done. Quit rolling out the pics, turn the heat up and slice through these buttered up corrupt EPL execs.
  9. If we go down and they want to take over the club still, does that remove the premier league hurdle? Wouldn't it down to the EFL who don't seem to care? More reasons to keep Bruce as insurance policy if all else goes tits up we can always rely on Bruce relegating us.
  10. I would be floored if Martinez would be willing to drop Belgium for us lol. He only signed a contract extension last year to the end of 2022. They have World Cup qualifiers in March too. If he was actually lined up for here, I imagine it would be after the Euros with Jones doing recon and taking some instruction from him prior. Still a long shot I would think. Rationalizing why we identified and paid money for Jones to come on board. Then a bit of guesswork lol
  11. Why didn't we do a straight swap for Jones? Guess we didn't want to pay the 250k extra? Paid it anyway.
  12. I would certainly hope Martinez wouldn’t be the choice of any prospective buyers. I agree. It would be underwhelming (fully realising the irony and beggars can't be choosers scenario here). If the takeover went through we could surely have a choice of better managers. Certainly reckon he would want another crack at the premier league and with money backing. Also if the Poch rumours were true over Rafa, the prospective owners want a mangers that will play front foot attacking football. Still must be a plethora of better choices. I don't why Martinez would do any better here than he did at Everton? Would be a huge victory and jump us light years in comparison to where we are at but still underwhelming if the takeover went through.
  13. I am assuming if any interest in him is true he would be considered an alternate to Wilson or option for wide left if ASM/Fraser are injured. He would certainly be a better option than Carroll, Gayle or Joelinton. Maybe Bruce clutching at straws because he knows he won't see the ritchie money and wants something out of the deal? Maybe Jones knows where he wants to utilize him lol.
  14. Are we throwing in Gayle as well? King is about the type of signing I would imagine we would go for, before losing out to west brom or someone like that. He is a punt but a solid player on his day that was overhyped. Either way I'd rather have him here and he would be more useful than Ritchie though.
  15. Just watched the Jones interview. I do remember them doing this type of thing in the past with new staff members but this seems dressed up more. Really comes across like he has come in as a special advisor/DOF almost to oversee things from the way he is talking. Absolutely crystal clear this wasn't Bruce bringing him in. God only knows what the end game is. I can't believe Ashley/Prospective owners want him in charge but someone definitely identified him and wanted him specifically brought in. Certainly points towards Martinez being the longterm choice for whomever will be running the club. Could just be total coincidence. Someone has very purposely chosen, gone after and paid considerable money for Jones though, when there are plenty others on the trash pile not needing compensation.
  16. Again...what exactly in Jones record makes anyone think he's going to improve us? Unless I've missed something I don't see much past a few years of mediocrity at low level. Fair enough if he was 20, but this guy is 50 and isn't exactly a newby to coaching Lots of great assistant coaches that don't make the grade as a manager/head coach. If he can get shit down behind the scenes then great - even if it's getting the players settled and training properly Bournemouth fans don’t seem to rate him as a assistant coach either Was that before or after he dumped them? lol
  17. Will likely get the cold shoulder from Bruce and co. Every training session. "..lovely insight, thanks for your input graeme. We will take that on board. I think I left something in my office, any chance you could get it?" "Sure, What was it Steve?" "Oh yeah.. anything really. Off you pop."
  18. Remember how long it took the morons to act with Pardew. That said, he had a fair few wins there in comparison.
  19. This. Best game all season for us today. Like the old Schar. Fantastic.
  20. Will get the Everton game at least. Much more confident they will rip us to shreds though than the lacklustre Leeds we got. We will have to sit through the usual PR offensive of how we "got the reaction today" and that its "Something to build upon".
  21. We continued to retain and then play championship players like Yedlin, Gayle and Ritchie and now rely on them. There are so many players that were due to be carted off before Rafa left that have just leeched unto Bruce and the club. Surprised he never recalled Colback.
  22. Easy on the advice there Biesla. Unless he is saying. Come on, the game is up, time to leave Steve.
  23. First double over us since the 70's another lovely landmark for the Bruce era.
  24. Deluded Geordies, complain when they aren't playing well and picking up points, now have the audacity to complain when they are losing and playing well.
