All anyone really wants to know is whether this means the installation of slides outside the ground are back on.

Also some complete guesswork from the Chronicle here too: https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-director-of-football-takeover-18096336 Ferdinand would be an easy 2+2 given the Reuben links at QPR and being an ex-player. Fact he was basically tweeting Reuben good luck with the project likely rules him out though.

Nikos Dabizas linked the other day (I posted a link below). I also thought I read another article elsewhere since that had more of a headline implying he was just interested in being DOF rather than he was the one lined up. https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2020/04/18/report-prospective-new-newcastle-owners-have-identified-a-former/

Damn right. They knew from the start they wanted Rafa so sacking Bruce on day one cannot be considered knee jerk in anyway.
-
Is the Hitzfeld campaign dossier still widely available? needs dusting off if not.

This. The first thing I’d do, on my very first day, at 9am, is call that disgusting fat twat into the office and give him his P45. Stick with him and there’s not a shred of doubt that we’ll be scraping to safety. The players won’t play for him as they’ll know he’s on the way out one way or another in a few weeks anyway. Amen. What's the point in being nice. Fans will be onside regardless. Until it turns out pardew brokered the deal and he is back.

Is keeping Bruce for 5 points really worth it??! Just get rid. It would be such an anti climax to have him lead us out for our first game under new owners. He should be consigned to the history of Ashley's era. If I was Bruce I'd be sounding them out for an early exit. Tidy sum in his pocket for leaving and also avoids the chance of still getting relegated with the last games being played. Head held high. I am sure we will hear lots of "I have no doubt I am still the man for the job", "I'm going nowhere","the be owners have full faith in me" "getting on with the job" quotes soon. It really depends when the ownership is finalized in relation to the season restarting/ending. If they take over in May and season doesnt re-start until mid to late June (likely earliest) why waste a month or two that the new manager could use? Just to be nice to Bruce? Fuck that. It could be more of a potential risk.
-
Mirror all in with 200m earmarked for Bruce to spend. #warchest While it's all bollocks imagine if the new owners stick with Bruce and let that nugget spend the money!
-
Provided this goes through, surely there is no point keeping Bruce until season end (if its even played). Infact it could be potentially damaging. If Rafas coming back there is a portion of the squad whose morale will hit the floor (shelvey, ritchie all the others that have got nice and snuggly with Bruce's do what you want approach). I dont think they have the spine or interest to "do it for bruce" to give him a good send off if he gets until the end of the season. Just get Rafa back in to undo the mess pronto. If it's a completely new manager (Poch or Allegri) the same is likely true with why wait. All the players are likely to at least try though to impress the new boss.
-
Allegri's style isnt that dissimilar to rafas is it? Although he will switch tactics a bit more readily. Likes high press, conserving energy and hitting on the break or slower methodical build ups. Players are always very well organized. He would bring a huge resume and likely following of players. He is untested in the premier league though. Poch would be a better fit to the playing style most fans romanticize about and is a huge proponent of bringing through youth. I worry he doesnt have the extra ability to close out games when it counts but he would give the majority of fans good football to watch. More than that he has something to prove in the premiership. We know Rafa works. His only question marks are his transfer record with money but we know what we are getting, it's almost impossible not to want him back. He knows and gets the city and club, desperately wants to win the league and wants a legacy project. Can only see them getting someone else if he isnt interested in returning. Allegri and Rafa are the only two that have been heavily linked so I'd expect it to be one of them.

Many of them packed their season tickets in and have been replaced by free ticket Ashley’s. The club is going to have to kick the free ticketers our and let them have their seats back if they want the flags back. Offer doesn't run past the end of the season does it? Could be a nice out for Wor Flags back in! -
The amount of players leaving if Rafa is back will be glorious. Just hope ASM isn't one of them. Not sure how he and Benitez would co-exist.
-
Absolutely! Has to be someone with charisma or a supreme being like Rafa. Given his links with stavely I cant see past the spanish waiter. I am sure he has been in the loop the whole time. China is a nice stop gap for a ton of money. I think he could have waited for a premier league job which tells me he would still relish the return if not that he is holding out in hope of one.
-
Rafa with money? You arent seeing the same type of football we saw with Ashley backing. You wouldnt have labelled Liverpool boring or conservative under him. When necessary sure but there isnt another manager I'd want here. As Rafalove says, he is capable of building a club from the ground up. We dont need someone who won't get the area, fanbase and club. There might be sexier choices but I'd have Rafa back in a heartbeat.

Catts for me. Not picking Louay after his past discressions.

So we are at the same stage as we were with BZG in the summer? We just saw the fat man keeping sports direct open in the current climate. He wont take a penny less than he wants for us and noone with any sense will pay his kings ransom. Fully prepared for the same disappointment again. Even more mass apathy and more than a healthy amount of people saying how well Bruce has done and we will be fine with if Ashley has to stay.
