Islam Slimani - Returned to Leicester
toontownman replied to Figures 1-0 Football's topic in Football
He is a powerhouse. Works hard, physical, good eye for goal. In the right team and set up he will thrive. Hoping he is fit, if he is I am delighted with this. Caught my eye in 2013 at the ACON even though Algeria didn't get good results. Was also great at the world cup after when Algeria surprised a lot. Definitely a target man that can cope being up top by himself. -
Is this actually happening? Please kindly f*** off Jack. Got James Brown Get up offa that thing chorus in my head f*** off outta our club and things will only get better. Can apply Ad nauseam to Ashley, Charnley and a few others.

If Llorente comes in then it would probably mean someone else leaving. Might be where all the Merino transfer talk was coming from. Why? we only have 4 natural central midfielders at the club and Merino has been battling fitness. We need another central midfield option. A defensive midfielder though? Would prefer a decent AM but I guess that can free Shelvey and Merino to be more attacking if they need. Diame is a lottery.
-
Well we haven't completed Slimani or Dubravka yet. We will likely be working on them until after the game before an announcement. Don't know we will have time to hear those infamous words.
-
We only have 3 on loan unless I am missing something and also is it not 5 loans maxium?? 3 this window plus didn't merino count? Merino isn't a current loan so no, wouldn't count. Total of four per season according to the premier league site though? Happy to be wrong though, even if getting a third person today is a moot point.

I am congratulating nothing until its finished. Don't trust our luck. The idea of Slimani with Perez behind might work nicely. Still a failure this window. Choice of four central midfielders, if fit, is pretty scary. Especially when Mo Diame is one of them. We really need an attacking central midfielder and if we are going to three at the back another CB wouldn't have hurt either. All that said to even have anyone in today would be the best window in years. -
Why would you choose the option where you don't get the bonus? You'd obviously choose the better deal. I'd argue (through sour grapes) you would let the club you agreed to join know about the better offer to see if they will match it before accepting the better offer and fucking off to the other club. Albeit that is assuming all that has been reported is true. Obviously indeed you would pick the extra bonus especially if the playing field and standard was even between the two clubs.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/newcastle-united-transfer-news-rafa-benitez-striker-targets-mike-ashley-latest-a8185916.html I am of no doubt we could/should have offered more. However, to be fair to this. Sturridge reportedly already said yes to our offer and was happy with what we offered. We wouldn't have known west Brom then offered him more money as the deal was done in our eyes after he agreed it. Doesn't look like we were given a chance to match it as we were expecting him to turn up for a medical when it was announced he was heading to west Brom instead. Happy putting more hate on the scum that run the club but don't think the hate is as merited here.

Proud of the lad heading abroad. Great experience and hopefully just a loan with no buy option. Still think he is exceptionally talented, just needs games.
-
Regarding the possibility of bringing another 3rd "mystery" person in on loan. We can't can't We? Isn't it a maximum of 4 loans per season? Could see them getting someone mint flying them over and then the FA saying no lol.

And when we tumbled down the league we'll say... I think we're alone now, There doesn't seem to be anyone around I think we're alone now, When the transfer windows open we dont make a sound. -
Rafa simply has to be confident a takeover is still happening. No reason for any sane manager to put up with this. Either way I am thankful for his level head and calmness. If we stay up it will be due to that gorgeous human being. Oops just crushed on rafa hard for a second, almost as hard as our dreams will be crushed again tmrw.
-
Old news? Pep pretty much said he is staying didn't he? Wouldn't surprise me if we were. We have been linked to a CB prior to this window and wanted Mangala in the summer. All roses if we actually got a striker in but weird one if not. Guess its a good chance to get a player while we can ala Sissoko.
-
Is he telling the press and us or charnley and Ashley?
-
Luan, Silmani Dubravka and Mangala. It happen. Just bo-leive Reality....
-
Family reasons I was still pissed but footballing reasons? Again in a way you cant blame him staying away from the shithole of a club we have become under Ashley. However, this is still a HUGE kick in the face and another shameful moment for the fans. Rafa must also have taken a hit on this one too. Fucking West Brom and Pardew over SJP and Benitez. Sickening.
-
Ashley took Pardew out for dinner last night and spilled the beans when drunk at Nandos.
-
Yep. No one surprised. Still hurts. West Brom of all places. What a useless shithole of a club we have become. So fucking ashamed. L

Sturridge is done at Liverpool whether we agree a price or not. Reminds me of the remy situation all over again. Although as I said don't we Sturridge back at Liverpool in the future. Doesn't fit into klopps thinking stylistically.

Nicolai Jorgensen to stay at Feyenoord

Is that Ronaldos sculpture or Shearers statue? Hard to tell from this vantage point. -
Unless there is an actual bust up I think he will be here to the end of the season. Dont see him signing a new contract until there are new owners or Ashley gives him money to spend. Which is more likely? :s He wants to be here, the takeover is potentially close. If it's off the table come summer i see him walking but not before.
-
At least we are still getting linked to players. Didn't even get a name mention in the last week of the transfer window last time. Not sure if that is better or worse though.
-
He was lined up to come, the club told Benitez they were on with it but did f*** all because we already had four goalkeepers on the books at that time. Caballero got fed up of waiting and signed for Chelsea instead. Benitez pulled the plug on the Darlow to Boro deal as a result. Wow that sadly doesn't surprise me at all. I don't remember reading that about cabellero or Abraham. Sigh.
