Absolutely the bottom line. Shows them up completely. None more so than sissoko who was magnificent at both ends of the pitch. No excuses here and it can't be highlighted enough. The players are fucking this up as much as the coaches who apparently can't keep them motivated.

Some positions and managers gel. Sometimes completely against the balance of quality. Pardew was never right from the start, we got ridiculously lucky at times. McClaren felt slightly better from the start but ultimately doesn't look like working either. McLaren career is littered with this scenario, majority of positions just haven't worked. On the upside just a year and a half left on his contract.

As much as we need what you're advocating any such figure would look at this shower of s**** excuse for a squad and want a new one. That is the reality regardless. McClaren has said as much since he took over. If we are spending 150m I'd expect a complete new squad. Problem at the moment is the first 50m either is or has been made look as shit as what we already have.

I said it, thousands said it. We needed an appointment that had charisma that could inspire confidence in the fans and city as well as players. A name that commanded respect. We went another route. It hasn't and doesn't look like working out. The mindset is fucked at the club. Unless we spend the money to get a high calibre coach with the above skillset to replace McClaren we will find the same problem. Which will take an average coach at best a year to turn around.

Full credit to the fans that remain enthusiastic to the team. Maybe they follow blindly, maybe they are just better people than I. I have never been less enthusiastic, plussed or out of love with the club as I am now. A year ago I would have relished this tie. Now every game I am surprised if we perform or get a positive result. Average performance from an average manager. Improved a couple or areas of our game while we look far shitter in too many others. I happy to shift him out, except to say we will get more of the mediocre same from people that don't understand football, what this club is about and more importantly need. Wow, did not know that. That seems stupid. I don't mind having a bit of a limit like 5/6 but its the reserves not a actual youth team. Its there to bring players back from injury (or in our case re-injure them) and give squad members needing game time for fitness minutes. What constitutes being a reserve? Out of 25 first teamers at least 11 of those are likely to be not playing and in need of the playing/fitness run out in the reserves.
