  1. A proper club never would have him in the first place. A proper club wouldn't have hired Pardew, Hughton, Roeder, fat Sam or souness either. Always ample better options out there we have turned our noses up at. Still are.
  2. In fairness we are better off without the extra game. We would only get knocked out by scunthorpe or something in the next round. Need to sort the league position out. We are newcastle united we don't do cups, dreams or ambition.
  3. Got majority of possession and missed the best chance of the game. I expected us to be 3-0 down. Sounds like our new speciality match recipe is being prepared: - lots of possession - creating chances - "deserving the win" - wasting chances - conceding stupid goals - losing again
  4. RIP. Thoughts to his family. Terrible news. Legend wor Pav. In times where foreigners are increasingly sneered at Pav was a true embodiment of how to embrace and adopt yourself into new surroundings, Pav was every inch a Geordie. Proud to have watched him.
  5. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2015-16/january-transfer-window-2016.html Aye.. dreaming of bigger things. More than harsh tbh to one of our only shining lights and someone who has consistently committed himself to staying. Everyone is staying until a bid comes in though. Surprised its taken him this long to be dragged down to the rest of the teams level.
  6. Inspiring - no Charismatic - no Tactically versatile - no I really thought he might be the type of honest manager to accept his system and selections have become a hindrance and be open to letting pride go and change. Disappointing. He and his team obviously can't get the best out of any of our players. That would be a huge question for me as a boss willing to give him a further 50m to turn things around. Yeah its always going to take time to turn things around and build a new culture with the inherent problems and attitudes ingrained in players but he was never what we needed. Maybe as a dof but never as a manager. I said it then, now and inbetween we desperately needed charisma and inspiration to bring the fans and club back together and to inspire the players. Hugely dissapointed to be watching another relegation fight which more than ever, including the year we went down, I am resigned to us losing. He is gone. It's just a matter of how long Ashley or his goons will wait to sack him. It's not getting better and no player we get in January will turn it around because he isnt able to organize, inspire of utilize them properly.
  7. Same old.. Colback, dummett and Colo need to be nowhere near the first team. The formation needs to change and we need a minimum of 5 new first team starters. Spoilers* None of the above will happen.
  8. Absolutely unacceptable. What sort of faith are we expected to have in a management team that can't see how badly their preferred formation and subsequent team selection hurts the club. How are we supposed to believe after spending another 50m they could get any better out of the players coming in. Granted lots of this negativity around the club, fans and players were and are deeply inherent but we are getting worse. Where the playing from the back and ground passing has improved almost everything else has got worse. Going to have to heavily rely on some serious implosions elsewhere because it's very hard to see us anywhere but bottom three and the playing and club staff/management absolutely deserve it.
  9. And yet has still been one of our best players. Speaks volumes.
  10. Jack the ripper.. tearing the soul out of newcastle fans so Mike Ashley doesn't have to.
  11. At what point to you question your shit negative two DM system and shit team selection causing our shit performances and lack of attacking ability.
  12. What do we think we are building towards. Soo frustrating no one willing to pull the trigger, mainly because it's clear nobody successfully can I suppose. Get in a good position -> continue year to pass it around square or backwards until we have to start again.
  13. We are the worst side in the league at the moment. Absolutely shocking. Really woeful. We can't even look average against the shit teams.
  14. Going to hinge on who we bring in this coming month. The league is so shameless this year a run of three or four wins could make all the difference and put us near European places. Likewise both the scum and villa could dig themselves out. While we stick with four central midfielders, two of which are defensive minded, we will never offer enough going forward. We desperately need a change of formation or hopefully a change in personnel. We are predictable, if they shut down sissoko and Janmaat then we offer nothing coming forward. Dummett and Colocini are too slow for this league and our defence simply cant cope.
  15. Been a pleasant surprise and deserves some kudos. If he loses the rest of the christmas munchies from his waist he might jump slightly higher.
  16. Would be delighted with Shelvey tbh. Townsend on loan I could live with, not convinced he is a huge upgrade but happy to be proved wrong, likewise happy we could send him back if he doesn't work out for us. Not getting a LB and CB is suicide. Quite frankly a Striker too. We are up shit creek right now and I don't see our current lot picking up enough points to do anything more than scrap to avoid relegation if they can.
  17. Some great breaking up of play, tackles and general putting himself all over the pitch. One of the best performances from him as a DM imo. Too far and few inbetween.
  18. had one nice run and excellent cross. Generally was much closer to 50/50 in terms of a) going backwards/positive forward play b) giving away the ball/completing a pass and retaining possession c) fouling/winning the ball. I'd call that a progress.
  19. This really bar the so unlucky. You make your luck sometimes and we didn't play til the final whistle. Our defence was still absolutely comical at times. Mainly, but not exclusively from the midfields inability to mark players in our box but also the complete lack of pace and overall skill of dummett. Anita as you say had a great second half and so so first. Much better. Perez was off virtually all night. Hard to fully judge mitrovic om the one chance we actually created for him all game He should have buried it though. Desperately need a left wing that works like the right and a central mid to replace colback and probably Anita.
  20. Shocking and sad news. Sending Love to him and his family. One of the biggest characters I've seen at the club and so much passion for the club, fans and area in general. Hang in there and get better pav.
  21. In comparison Anita played well but I am still not convinced by him, however likeable. Cant Carttermole actually do something useful and break his leg or something next time we play. I used to think he was average and worthy of a squad place but he has actually got far far worse than average. Absolute turd. Contributes absolutely nothing positive.
