Dan Ashworth (no longer working for Manchester United)
toontownman replied to Rich's topic in Football
Fair enough I was going to say 5-10. 5 is a minimum though imo. We do need consistency. Whether the person lasts that long is different to whether they are committed to the long term. I'm not necessarily saying Ashworth didn't come here committed to the long term either, situations come up and circumstances change. It's just unfortunate when we need consistency to see a vision though. That takes 5-10 years, all being well. -

Mitchell is good but I share other people's concerns about his longevity at clubs. We need someone that's going to he here for 10 years. -

The old both sides reporting? Manure -"closer to 3m" Newcastle - "closer to 20m" In reality it will be undisclosed and somewhere in the middle for everyone to save face. -

Ah well. Roll on next season. -
He is a key piece to retaining Bruno too. Bruno is going eventually but I think there is a much higher probability of him staying while Joelinton is here.

Beautiful. Feel spoilt with the recent YouTube streams for our game. None today

Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

He was so clearly up for it today, like being fired out of a canon. Looked quicker than I remember. So glad to have him back. He was looking like it was going to be a break out season before the injury. -

Clean sheet and goals. Hopefully something to build on. We still looked short on confidence but got glimpses of it returning today. Big games coming up. -

Fear it's just a matter of time here. We don't just leave the door open, we put up a welcome, come on in banner through our midfield and back four. Can't get the ball through, no problems we will gift it back to you. -
He definitely dropped like the rest of the team from the year before. That team was honestly one of the worst teams I have seen win a league. They could barely pass to each other and when David came in it was like his team mates purposely didn't pass to him for 6 months. Lille were super greedy and wouldn't let him go after that season and thought they would get far more keeping him. The team dipped though. His agent has since said he preferred to stay until the end of this season (ie. Either a decent offer hasn't arrived or the right clubs aren't interested!) He is currently 3 goals short of his best season with Lille though. Chelsea, Manure, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs have been sniffing around for a few years but they haven't bit the bullet or maybe Lille are asking too much? Could see him going to Italy too. You are right he needs a next step move this summer or he risks getting overtaken by the inevitable next big thing.

I mean...if 26 goals in 40 appearances last year and 16 goals, in 32 so far this season with 11 assists over both, is stagnating... All on a pretty poor, underachieving Lille side that finished 5th and sits around the same. I'm surprised he is delivering 1 goal in 2. I'd be shocked if we were even in with a chance for David, he will be looking for CL and plenty of clubs with it are already after him. Howe would be perfect for him imo.
