  1. Sensible signing with potential. Hopefully a permanent deal or loan with option.
  2. Tbh thauvin has been, however aarons looks potentially immense. Difference is thauvin can play 90 minutes without shattering into a million pieces causing a skeksis armegeddon.
  3. With a bit of luck he will have been pleasantly surprised working with Rafa. Could still be a big player for us Imo.
  4. Written as though it's a done deal in that chronicle article. Good versatility and backup at CB. Might get games at DM if Tiote does leave.

    Papiss Cissé

Happy for him to spend half his game time off side and missing sitters elsewhere. What a player we got for the first 6 months though. Shame he never repeated that form. Interested to see if tote stays or follows.
  6. Excited to see who we bring in as a replacement tbh. He has always been hot and cold but never reached his potential. We might not easily replace his potential but we will replace him with someone that turns up more than not and contributes a lot more.
  7. It's a tough call. As mentioned lascelles and mbemba are our first choice and should be, but need protection and guidance as they grow. This is a low risk signing and someone we can move on pretty easily. He brings some leadership and experience. My only reservation is that when you are buying you should surely always be aiming to bring better players in than what we already have. I don't know that he is, but for the reasons already said it maybe makes sense.
  8. Just want to see Ronaldo in tears. Portugal have fluked it the whole way here. Happy to wait for the final for bales tears.
  9. Retired from paying because he was fed up never winning anything from the tax office.
  10. He's going to cost a fair bit I reckon. Wolves are reportedly getting taken over by Chinese billionaire so they'll have no reason to sell. Been all quiet on the janmaat front. Could see us going for Iorfa if he is off. Having someone like Dominic competing alongside experience makes sense either way. Guess it depends if Sterry is rated or not. Interesting to see if there is anything in the Arbeloa links too.
  11. Depends on our squad and what we bring in A year for a few to bed in like mitro, possibly wijnaldum plus a year for some young English players to find there fit and excel. It's more about building that psyche and culture that you see in clubs that come up. Shedding the money grabbers and making sure we are also picking up players that can blossom in the premier league when we go up is the goal. As we saw last season and to lesser extents other years having a team that works together and has the hunger can outweigh the mega bucks.
  12. Thanks to all doing this. Top idea. If it catches on like the scarves at shearers testimonial it will be mega. Some great ideas all over this thread.
  13. Really hard one. It is surely too soon for lascelles but he is the leading candidate by a mile. I guess much depends on Sissoko and wijnaldums futures. Think it has to be someone that is already at the club.
  14. Could had signed him for 2m 5 years back. Could also get far better for that money.
  15. Could almost cover our outlay for the coming the three we have brought in plus four defenders with the potential sale of Sissoko and Townsend. Tote, Cisse, janmaat and Thauvin are also likely off with hopefully gouffran and riviere. We should be in a good position to pay the necessary amount to get the best young players in the championship and around we have been linked with.
  16. Think he will absolutely take off next year imo, if he stays in England. Looked lost at the best of times but still got a good goal return while settling into a new environment with shit around him. Proper coaching and consistency with a new year knowing what to expect in terms of the playing environment and i think he will accel. As much as he looked lost and was invisible in games I don't think we did a good enough job using him and bedding him in.
  17. He'll not get games next season and probably isn't in the Klopp mould longer term. Yep. Is rumored to be on the off. Will have better options than us though as already mentioned.
  18. Fair play again for the letter. He didn't have to. Wish him all the best and look forward to seeing who we bring in to replace him. Sideshow Bob leaves big shoes to fill obviously.
  19. Torn on the new strip. Quite like it but don't want to get it with the wonga logo.
  20. Again happy with what ever rafa decides. He will be useful if we can keep him fit, but given his track record we could arguably replace him easily with someone that could contribute more than he has.
  21. There is a 50/50 chance that he either becomes a superstar or not and be patient because it could or could not happen over the next 9 years. What's the shelf life of potential vs cashing in? Plus factor in the quality of coaching, injuries, environment (including surrounding teammates) and other weird life and circumstantial events. It's next to impossible to predict as we have had some fantastic young talent here over the years that at different clubs and environments might have made a huge impact instead of fizzing out. Reality is with large expenditure a player, especially from abroad (where stock will linger higher for longer) only has 2/3 seasons tops before we move him on. While a player might well develop into world class over 5/6/7 years what club can afford to keep a player that long when better options in the now exist. When money is based on results and football run by money finding players that achieve their potential is difficult and circumstantial at best and one clubs can only gamble on for so long.
