Shocked but I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the amount of online vitriol towards Eddie. Saddened more than anything else. I wish all of our fanbase had a modicum of the humility, class and respect he holds himself in and has since joining us. Whether you feel its time for him to go or not, (obviously either is fine btw), refering to him as the "PE teacher" "failed miserably" "fucking coward" etc. Just a few if the labels I saw online (not here) is borderline unbelievable. I for one welcome our new overload Jose. But I did also just win the lottery and bought a time machine to steal him from 2006. It. Is. Happening. All that said, I'm not totally convinced they won't actually make a play for him. He will appeal to the Saudis. In respect to the comments in younger names using us as a stepping stone, Mourinho wouldn't. I just think he would inevitably not last long and fall out with everyone or get bored.

On the upside. It has in the respect he is getting games. He started their last 6 with 90 minutes the last three games. At worst he likely moves to another championship club. 9 appearances in total since February is good considering how little football his body has experienced the past few years.

We have had and still have every opportunity to push to get into europe. Not getting into Europe was always going to be the biggest red flag or all for endangering Eddie's Position. Its a huge chunk of missed revenue. We are losing 20-30m from the league alone arent we? Let alone the loss of European revenue. If we can't manage it I don't see him staying. I think its 60/40 him leaving as it is.

We were so exciting in his first year and a half. Then teams worked us out, now we cant work out how to be exciting again or work out other teams. Hopefully we come full circle or its the end for Eddie.

Unless we have someone available to come in now. I can see logic in that sense. Definitely prudent to have more time working with the squad and assessing what we have. On the players to prove themselves. I just don't see us having someone lined up or anyone available thats a huge upgrade. More likely we wait a few weeks after season ends and then an exhaustive search that takes too long right up to preseason.
