  1. 2 goals 2 assists and won a penalty. Great to see it finally clicking for him here. Hopefully a step up in due course isn't too far for him.
  2. Bit of a missed opportunity to run down our goal difference gap. Hopefully we can do the same at the weekend. Murph is magic. Very happy for him.
  3. Its been a weird season Cup win and scouse fan/club reaction has essentially vanquished the demons of my Liverpool hatred. For now at least. Villa have been feeling similar teething pains to us, after treading the same CL path and squad/PSR restrictions we did. I'm unlikely to ever drop my Lee Dixon inspired Arsenal hatred but Manure aside I've lost a ton of my anger to clubs. Palace don't bother me, they are below us.
  4. I read the quotes more that Longstaff is likely seeking an exit knowing his starting days are largely numbered here. I'm ok with him leaving and wish him the best but how many academy home grown do we have that we could put in to help the European quota? Gillespie and Miley count. But I suppose maybe adding Sean Neave/Ben Parkinson/Anthony Munda would get around it too? They first two have been in the first team squads and Munda has been tipped for a while to break through.
  5. Well we truly rode our fucking luck there. Great and incredibly important win that. Hopefully we sharpen up a bit so we don't make things so bloody difficult and stressful lol
  6. He looks up and body shape like he tried a pop.
  7. Cant get too annoyed. We know we aren't there yet. Hence the wastefulness upfront, switch off and mistakes at the back. DM don't always help either. When we upgrade to fix those areas we will be a top 4 side consistently. We have seen and known that for a while. We are just in a frustrating "nearly there" phase.
  8. Break neck game. Some absolutely stunning movement and free flowing attacking from us at times. No surprises we lack a bit of killer instinct and mess up the last pass too often but we are also creating enough players (Isak) is bound to score eventually. Just have to keep it tighter in defensive midfield and watch the Brentford breaks. Class half for the neutral.
  9. Just came in to post that. Sanusi getting injured might have salvaged his career. He desperately needs a solid loan move though to get minutes he needs to continue improving.
  10. We have reportedly scouted him and he's keen on coming. One to watch for sure.
  11. While another promotion would have been ace, another year to develop here is fine. We would another very large turnover if we went up imo. That's not ideal to stay up and everyone to gel. Incremental change with the team growing as a whole is good. A handful or top quality additions in the summer and then hopefully less turnover necessary when we eventually go up.
  12. All of this. We will have plenty of game time for the new striker with European footie added in. Having 2 top tier strikers shouldn't be an issue for a top 4 team. Most have had 3 or 4 atthe same time over the years. While the money is on David going to somewhere like Barca, even given David's form and pedigree there is no guarantees on a starting spot at any of the biggest clubs. Especially when changing leagues/country.
  13. Dibling at 100m? So Isak now $600m starting bid? Inflation is crazy these days.
  14. Just turned 28. Not sure we have a ton of resale mileage in him like with Lloyd Kelly. Especially with his injury history it seems a bit risky, we have that with Wilson already. We have backup in Osula who should be on an upswing (if he is progressing) while DLC is likely trending the opposite direction with time. Unless we are shifting Osula and bringing two strikers in. We need someone that is a high level nearer Isak than Osula imo.
  15. ...Or no fucks America after that performance. Pretty substandard Canadian performance, but it was still largely a controlled walk in the park. US are a mess. All the rah rah from Poch and two embarrassingly limp performances. Apathy or priced out by the ludicrous ticket prices the lack of US fans in attendance was just as bad. There is a point where yet another change is pointless though. It appears as was skeptically predicted when hired, Poch gives zero shits and is there for the money. He will likely be picking up more severance in the summer if USMNT doesn't win the GC or at least look like the team in Poch's words "can win World Cup with help of Donald Trump and fans" The closing shot of the feed showing the beach was apt, it was evidently where the fans and most of the US team where for the majority of the match.
  16. There might be a genuine nice guy there somewhere, but he appears an absolute sham of a manager by today's standards and an embittered man, triggered by his ultimate failures. He had early promise, I remember his Hudderfield run alongside the new stadium, exciting times for the area, loved that stadium at the time. At Wigan and even Birmingham there were flashes that he could be a good manager, if not more. There were points I definitely thought he could be an option for us at the time. While he never had the pace, it still shocks me he never got an England cap as a player. Begrudgingly he was so solid and a great leader for Manure. Given what we know or him more recently it wouldn't be a surprise if he still held resentment. Whether it was luck, circumstance or he really had some potential, he simply didn't appear to evolve as a manager or coach in the years after. The football world passed him by while he lived off previous reputation and being a "good guy" and "one of the lads". Seems he relied upon his assistants and the old boy, pal with the players factor combined with a "freedom to play" ie know tactics approach. That's on him. It's sad to see someone that did acheive much as a player and had a consistent career in management at high levels, making a lot or money to boot, be so bitter and petty. He never should have come to Newcastle to manage or be shortlist at that point of his career. It was an insult to the club. I will never begrudge him for taking it. At one point there was genuine passion in the guy for this club and shite or not I understand betting on yourself, if not respect it. You might as well retire if you dont. I do still begrudge him not walking away sooner. Whatever motivate him these days, if he remembers, be it the money, the bitterness of failures or public shaming it's sad to see him unable to act with dignity and take the high road. Ah well, all good motivation for his next murder mystery novel.
  17. This is BDB's world and we are just living in it. Congrats. What. A. Story.
  18. If I wasn't still high off last weekend I'd be properly gutted about tonight's performance from Canada. Mexico probably played the best they have in a couple of years. Very well organized, composed and up for it. After going down early Canada just couldn't break them down. Also karma for laughing at the states losing to Panama before. Guess we get the USA vs Canada game both were hoping for after all. Just in the biggest loser off lol
  19. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/03/19/newcastle-town-league-cup-celebrations-town-moor/ Telegraph round up with a list of targets for each area. Trafford seems like it could be done. RW/Striker options are wide open. CB will depend on other clubs expectations on fees.
  20. Posting on the hour every hour.. Then I'm bursting into tears for every 59 mins inbetween. https://x.com/FtblJoe/status/1901691978053513369
  21. Expect he loved it. He has admittedly always had a soft spot for us.
  22. Pretty happy with Mitchell. His experience is far greater than Dougie. No idea if we missed out or dodged a bullet but we got a much safer bet imo.
