A CB or 2 is more important than another midfielder. Agree, especially if one of the two strikers we bring in actually can cover the wing too (not that it matters to Pardew). Think we are adequately covered through the middle, if only in numbers rather than true quality. Just don't see a CB signing happening with the foreshadowing of Satka and Streete. Although very little been said about the latter recently. All depends whether we sell mapou. Maybe we do fancy Richards but in the middle, not sure I like that.

Surely most improved player last season for us. One of the only bright spots last year and one of the only faces I will be happy to see again this season. However, Can't see pardew putting him anywhere but on the bench though this year

Gosling was turd. He was a watered down Kevin Nolan with zero end product. He certainly got himself into right areas but influencing games? I don't think so. Maybe it just would have taken him one goal to go in and we would have seen a different player. Would have preferred to have kept Guthrie.

Can you not be aware of this strategy and also upset about the sales that result from it? For sure but it's a bit like agreeing to be in an "open relationship" and throwing the toys out of the pram when your partner runs off with another person....................... I imagine

Think that any people still upset by this type of sale need to realise that part of our stategy in attracting players here is telling them this can be your "stepping stone club". This isn't new.. Right or wrong is how we have attracted players here. Hopefully they perform well and push the team higher or reclaim big fees when they move. Not that we couldn't attract similar or the same player with a different manager and selling angle but this is and has been for years our chosen selling angle. Always going to be someone leaving, probably even if we scale champions league fringes. This was the chosen outcome when Debuchy signed up.

Very like Debuchy in attack, likes to get forward, hit/miss crossing, good in the air and likes to put a tackle in. Not sure how great he is defensively but didn't embarrass himself. Would prefer Isla.. or why not both considering we could put Isla on the wing. I know, madness.

If Hatem and Marv are truly not going to be given a chance then getting two players like payet and cabella is truly as much as a priority as getting two strikers. Would be happy with zaha and a decent target man upfront too. We will likely end up with a winger and a striker and the rest "saved for January".
