Totally. This place is crazy. Amen. He is far from perfect but far from deserving of the hiding he is getting. He is no winger, but he offers us a lot imo. Hardly Jonas/Obertan territory. Id also wager Ben Arfa has looked worse at times coming on. Today included. I dispute the jumping comment too. He jumped a mile in the air towards the end and also completely mistimed the jump as Kruls long pass went over his head on his way down. Edit: Just remembered what my avatar is.. no bias honest.

So that's man city having a goal against chalked off, Liverpool getting a very soft penalty and manure having an offside goal allowed? Arsenal to get something next? Nothing dodgy with Everton or spurs games though at least. Just hurts more given our great performance. Truly terrible last couple of sets of results for us in the premier league.

He more than not has got in a habit of setting us up right to play the better teams in the league. Again set us up right today. I didn't think we needed subs as we were doing well. I certainly wouldn't begrudge him them though, it was a choice; keep faith and hope our pressure pays off, or add something new that could give us that little extra. As it was he took the wind out of our sails for a bit with the subs and we never really had enough. If he had any clue how to motivate and organize players for all our other games against the teams we should easily beat he could be on his way to being an actual football manager. His tenure here shows he learns from his mistakes, just three times longer than anyone else does. So by 2020 he should have cracked the modern day game. Shame the game will have moved on by then.

He does lose his s*** on the touchline far too frequently, that's a fact. every manager loses their s*** on the touchline, theres bigger things to be worried about He does more than most, and more frequently. Needs to calm down, nobody's saying it's the biggest issue at the club. Surely the only thing that makes him redeemable with that section of fans that consistently back him. I don't mind a manager that shows he is passionate, I quite like it. Probably doesn't do much to help the composure of our players though.

Absolutely nothing In the Cabella rumours IMO. If we get anything it will be Luke De Jong on loan. Otherwise it will be back to the same cycle of exciting links, initial noise then inevitable frustrating silence before we sign some French teenager and put in half arsed bids to make us look like we are trying. Ahh the voice of jaded bitterness.

Turning a corner just in time to again embarrass us. Of course aided by Pardews inevitable ineptitude.

Twitchy on Defoe move.. do you think he knows Toronto isn't in the U.S.? Blame Rosey. http://www.insidefutbol.com/2014/01/10/great-lifestyle-great-set-up-former-us-veteran-harry-redknapp-backs-jermain-defoe-toronto-fc-move/121093/? "Oh absoultely [i'd loan him in], sure", he told a press conference today. "You'd love to have him in. even if you only had him for six weeks, eight weeks, whatever. "He'd come in and score you 10 goals, he's that good. He can do a job for anybody and this is a great opportunity for him. It's a great lifestyle out there. "The lads that have gone over, Robbie Keane and obviously David Beckham, and everyone who's been out there, I was fortunate enough to be out there for four years, when I was playing, it's a great country to be in. "Toronto get good crowds and they have a good set-up there. I'm sure it's a move he'll enjoy. It's a new and exciting challenge for him."

Don't worry fat sam, you only have to wait another week for 3 easy points.

Shame the next one is more than likely when he leaves... in 2026.

Toronto going for it this year. Impressive if they get Bradley. Crazy move for him at 26 but great for the league. Gilberto signing is a great one too for the club and league. Very good up and coming Brazilian striker. Shafts Laba though who looks a decent prospect, surprising they would want rid of him. Wish the Whitecaps didnt have upper management like ours here. Lot of talent in the Whitecaps squad but the clubs in danger of going backwards.

Hate Souness more. Pardew is certainly no better...although is more likeable. Really was positive when we hire Fat Sam, all the technology and sports science wank he brought seemed the right move. Seemed like the best summer of signings too. Wow did it ever go wrong. Likewise I think he deserved more time, although I doubt we would have pushed the top 4/5 even back then. Wish we had an owner and chairman that willing to sack a manager for poor performances on the pitch... oh shit wait a second...

I guess the thread is warranted given the media speculation. Not a chance he will end up here though. French clubs are sick of us taking the piss, I would expect the same situation as Gomis to play out here. We will put in a low ball bid over the next couple of days, which will get rejected, then we will sit and play transfer chicken to the last week of January where his club will completely rule out the sale and he will commit to them until the summer.
-
Technically he is amongst the best at the club. His close control and use of the ball is first class. He would have featured much more under a more attack minded manager. On a much smaller degree marveaux and Ben Arfa are in the same position Robert was under Souness.

Well doubt anyone had science in their bingo card. Pardew gets a pointless answer and wins something.
-
Publicly state cups aren't a priority --> wonder why there is low attendance Pardew needs slapping with a wet fish. With the s*** he serves up its a wonder we near 50k for any game. Absolute moron.

Kevin Phillips is available right?

Got so sick of him saying that s***, it was a second string Cardiff ffs. Hows about attacking them and standing on their neck and battering the life out of them..........god i hate him. Wow are those quotes real? Seriously couldn't be more wrong about virtually every point he has made there. Unbelievably deluded. What pisses me off the most is how the press could care less and never call Pardew on his bullshit.

There extremists and trolls at either end of the spectrum. I think Pardew has rightfully been praised on here when he has deserved it. It is always going to be harder to see the positives, as the positives are what he is paid to do. Positives aren't always success as much as meeting expectations. With the talent he has at his disposal he should be meeting those expectations and surpassing them. The manure game was one example of that and he was rightfully praised. Meeting expectations would be: - getting positive results against lower opposition and being competitive against higher - setting a team up to play effective football. - Instilling belief and positivity and getting the best out of players. - improving the clubs standing Pardew has exceeded expectations a few times this season against Chelsea, spurs, manure and possibly Liverpool. However with his constant boasts about our first eleven being able to match any team he doesn't help his cause. We also consistently struggle against lower opposition home and away, which takes any gloss off our hard earned results. Not to mention his gutless approach and results in derby games. In this category for me he fails. Effective football doesn't have to be attractive and god knows we can rarely claim to play attractive football under Pardew. As I mentioned earlier I haven't seen us play consistent fluid attacking football under Pardew, we had started to get that under Hughton...but maybe it wouldn't have come with consistent effective results had he stayed. On paper he probably meets expectations during his tenure. His first season he met expectations, absolutely exceeded in his second year then absolutely failed last season. This season is certainly make or break for him and he looks to be meeting a top ten or top eight (in his words) target. What stats do is support Pardew but ignore the fact we played some truly awful football, had Lady Luck firmly onside and some rarely in form strikers. It can be argued either way but facts don't lie. As for Instilling belief in players Pardew and our coaching team fall woefully short. We rarely come out looking to win, we rarely look fluid in attack or hungry enough to get into the right positions. Players heads go down very easily and we look sacred much of the time. Does he get the best out of players? We have seen krul, gouffran and colocinni solid, although the latter certainly was before. Williamson has been solid at times. The rest are inconsistent like the team. Cabaye and Titote have peaked and dipped. More worryingly are the players that have come in and looked great then wained, which is sometimes natural, Pardew doesn't show he knows how to get the. Back though.. Both Titote and Cabaye clearly just worked it out themselves as a season long poor form yet consistent starting places made no difference. What of Cisse, Ben Arfa, Sissoko, marveaux his refusal to play Anita and in the past Ben Arfa and marveaux when they were clearly better than those on the pitch. Also his high praise of youngsters only for their appearances to be reduced to reserve team football. I would say there are very few in our team laying to their potential. The biggest problem is where our expectation as fans differs from the above. Things like cup runs, derby victories and playing with attacking intent and style are clearly not club priorities. That doesn't mean they should be ignored either. A couple of things I think we have improved upon this season is our defending and possession football in the middle of the park, our short passing has improved from sloppy to tighter too. We still lack so much coming forward due to Pardews insistent negativity.
-
Knee jerks? Most of us anti Pardew folks have been regardless of the results. Little knee jerking but apparently some poor trolling. You will find few Pardew advocates here and would have to go back quite a way to find many. Don't confuse those that are supportive of him at games while he is our manager to those that support him being our manager. As a supporter you should within reason always do the former. You will find few here when given the option of him being replaced not biting your hands off.. That going back over a year.

That's because our league position and some results suggest that he is doing a good job. When in reality anyone that has watched us all season and the last two will easily come to the reality that we are in this position in spite of his negativity and mindless decisions. How laughable is it that we are truly shocked when he does getting right (ie against manure). It's not a good sign when that is the only game in recent memory that he got it right all the way through a game. Just like our fifth place a couple of seasons ago, we haven't got there through consistent fluid play, we have ridden our luck, been held up by goal scorers that are on form and performances that go against the way Pardew negatively sets us up. I am not naive enough to think we can go out and attack 90 mins every game and sometimes grinding out results playing ugly is a necessary part of the game. However it has been nearly four seasons and I am yet to see us look confident and flowing as an attacking unit. Despite constant assurances of Pardews love to set up attacking sides. It doesn't matter who we play we have very rarely come out of the starting blocks raring to go and hurt the opposition attacking wise. Even more rarely have we sustained that throughout a half, let alone a game. Pardew might feel his style is justified given our position now and two seasons ago. He also somehow believes that we do play a good attacking brand of football. What a sheltered football education he must have received. Facts are less and less fans will be willing to pay to watch the dross he puts out every week, moreover results won't make a big difference we are so uninspiring. Mediocrity and sustaining our position in the upper middle of the league is what Ashley clearly wants, in keeping Pardew he will likely get it. What he will also get is a huge fucking hole in the clubs pocket because less and less people are interested in watching this utter bile Pardew calls football.
-
No fucking urgency to kill the game off? Without any doubt Pardew instructed them to sit deep and defend after we scored. He without fail ALWAYS does. Fucking Ryder puppet.
-
Makes no difference until the board is gone. When it comes to it, and that is a long time yet.. Pardew will be the scapegoat and fed to the wolves...wish the "quan jue" was now tbh. Irregardless, does anyone think after canning Pardew we will get anyone in that's any different? We are royally screwed into mediocre and less until Ashley is gone. The only hope left is that some extremely rich billionaire takes us over with some ambition. In all likelihood we could end up with new owners even worse.
-
We have been here before over and over. Just not going to happen, we will get whipped by man city and again embarrass ourselves against the mackems. Regardless the charlatan and master of negativity will survive. It should be nigh on impossible with our squad to finish outiside top ten. I'm not saying he won't find a way but that target is nothing but a safeguard for mediocrity and pardew a tenure. Absolutely everything this club is about right now.
