League position aside, Pardew deserves sacking for the unbelievably rotten performances he produces despite the quality of players at his disposal. Absolutely criminal.
-
Why are you quoting Sunderland fans tweets?
-
Love the guy thought he had a good first half.

To go with the passing Set pieces Marking Backing off opposition attackers Offsides We play a mean backwards triangle though.

It has been the story of our side since we sold Nolan, who needed replacing. We don't have enough of a goalscoring threat through the center and we barely look like scoring once, it is a shock when we score more than that.

As if. There will be: - Credit to Di Canio and Sunderland - Fatigue from Thursday - Linesman to blame - Which is justified - Things just not going our way, chances missed Apology? From Pardew? The players that care will do on twitter, actions however speak louder than words. How we can be so inadequate at almost everything in the game is maddening. Corners, Free Kicks, Throw ins, loose passes, nervy defending, backing off, not picking up players and generally not engaging what little brain we have. This isn't rocket science, the least paid of the underperformers on the pitch gets paid more per week than the entire message board put together. At that level regardless of the pressure of the game that kind of performance once or twice is forgivable, but every week? I could care less right now that the club seems settled and there is a good spirit in the squad. We don't play premiership football and haven't since Pardew took over. Woeful situation.

What type of I told you so are you looking for. I doubt you will too many people that didn't say he was a horrible appointment and doomed to fail the day he took over. Granted a ridiculous amount of luck last season and graham carr's magic have confused people last year. Most of the time it just comes down to people that want whoever is in charge to succeed for the good of the club and so they find positives, followed by those that are happy to wrap themselves up warm fold their arms and look grumpy waiting for the inevitable moment 5 weeks or 5 years down the line when they can say I told you so. I'd say get on and enjoy the ride.. but then again why waste your money when you know its a shit ride. Moot point. He isn't going anywhere.

I am sure we could attract a lot of decent managers given our squad and scouting set up, provided we are still in the premiership next year. Larger problem is the Board have no interest in sacking Pardew and have beaten the majority of supporters into accepting malaise of underachievement, of those vocal they only ignore anyways. Then the majority of the best managers that might be interested wouldn't want to work with said board and the board wouldn't work with them if they weren't English and Mike and Dekka remember them from their panini sticker albums growing up.

Yep - painful that it happened in the Derby, esp at SJP, but it HAS been coming - did anyone on here seriously believe that we would win after Johnson scored their second..? How many times have we scored 3 goals this seasn and won the match as well..? Pardew's teams are negative and over-cautious....they caught us 3 times on the break but in truth, they were better set-up to win the game. We lack rapid movement when attacking, esp off the ball and that makes it easy for sides to draw us in. The fact that we lost heavily to the Mackems is bad , but the main issue is that Pardew has been found out, well and truly. We are now in a big battle against relegation because if we can get caught on the break like this against our friends' frrom Wearside, think how Liverpool and Arsenal will do with their forwards.... WBA and QPR away our best hope of points. Shocking thing is we have found him out, prem coaches have found him out even the dumbest football pundits on the telly has worked him out, yet he still has his followers. I wouldn't be worried about being caught on the break. Now he has giving attacking football two chances we will go immediately back to defensive grind and long ball. There will be no caught on the break, just full on arse raping and sustained pressure.

Just as well our board could care less what the fans think then. If we don't get relegated Alan Pardew will still be our manager come August - FACT.

Wretched, wretched defending. Setting up the perfect finale to our second worst season in nearly 20 years. This year has been an utter embarrassment and needs to be addressed. And to add to the misery the result "giving the game a go" not working means that Pardew will go back to his play defensive and grind out games approach. Just what will throw us back into the relegation fight. -

HORRIBLE DECISION -

Unbelievably nervy from our defence which has undermined a reasonably improved all round performance. Much better set up, looking to actually score a goal. We look a threat going forward with Marv, Gouf, Sissoko and Cisse. Have to take our chances though. Dissapointing to concede that goal.. Story of Gutierrez last two years with us, and really our half sloppy and stupid. Have to use our brain better in the final third and own box. -
I don't think he'd have set up this way had we had Coloccini/Taylor and Santon fit. I think a lot of his thinking was not having a particularly strong back four, and not having his "door openers" available to play much more than half an hour each. Haven't we set up the same way (defensive and hoping to grind out results) pretty much the whole season? We see weaker squads play better football every week. It's all about psychology and inspiring players to push themselves to play better. Just because we have alot of international class professionals doesn't mean they don't need inspiration to push them from time to time or that arm around them to help. That said the players are clearly united with pardew and have bought into what he feeds them. For me it just looks like it's easier for him to play defensive than try to inspire his players mentally to step up.

Disappointed he didn't gamble from the start but I see why. Really needed a creative spark as a result but defended the clean sheet. Pardew still thinks we can play defensively and grind out a result, we can't. This tactic is ironically more of a gamble than attacking one. Surely this negative tactic only drags down the confidence in our defence. Makes it look like he has no confidence in our defenders to get the job done if we play attractive competitive football. I'm not really ranting about pardew today I understand his reasoning for starting a more defensive line up. With fitness levels of marv and benarfa not likely to last the full game we would have been in the shit had we conceded being hit on the break, but who knows if we had stuck early they might have folded. Pardew has created a culture within the squad that genuinely plays for the shirt, fans and each other. I think the club is closer to the fans than it has been in a long time (definately safe house needed for that comment).A new manager is at risk of losing that..but pardew clearly has no tactical clue and I blame the coaching set up aswell as him. I hope he gets replaced but I am scared at what would follow. At the bare minimum we need a tactical coach to work with pardew carver et al are obviously not up to it.

Really think the Benfica match is going to be a cracker. Mackem game is much more important iyam.

Official: Yoan Gouffran signs new contract with Goztepe

Due a goal against the Mackems. -
That is already his third lap around the ground.
-
Hilarious how terrified of Shola they really are. As they should be, one goal in 20 games, it scares the s*** out of me too when we play him.

Went for the ball

QPR midfielder Joey Barton, on loan at Marseille: "Harsh free-kick given against QPR. Great technique from Maloney. Too much to do now. 2/3 relegation places sealed." Guess returning to QPR is not a possible option in Joeys crazy head. Well at least he went somewhere with ambition.
-
Cant wait to see this front attacking line: Ben Arfa Marveaux Gouffran Cisse Unlikely to happen this season though and with a bit of luck we will buy a decent winger to replace Gouffran and make that line up look even more drool worthy.

Too bad, like the club.. happy to see Fernandes and Twitchy sinking though.
