Press still touting Campbell coming on loan as part of the Debuchy deal? While I think he would be a nice addition to the squad wouldn't want us to be relying on Campbell or rivière next season. Absolutely need a proven goal scorer to lead the line. No idea who that would be. I assume we are sitting tight hoping Remy doesn't get the move he wants and comes back. God knows who the back up would be when that doesn't materialize.

A better thread for after the Window closes.. Or that day maybe seeing as we never sign anyone on deadline day. Hard to tell less than a fortnight into the window.. If we are basing it on now then you would have to say we are doing bloody well. Do we need more.. Yes. At least 4 more without anymore squad departures. If we sit here at the end of August without 4 more then we have failed horribly. We also need to replace anyone else we move on. Regarding lack of rumours, I wouldn't say we have been dead silent. That said the club have actively and vocally tried to downplay speculation, rumours and have tried to keep their cases to their chests. So can't really get our knickers in a twist there, that is old old news. We seem to have good momentum in the windo so far but are obviously doin our tedious best to get the best deals possible which makes things more frustrating. Again ask me in September!

Id be happy with Rivière, provided he is not our main striker signing. He was pretty highly thought of and has a ton of potential Tbf. Just shouldn't be relied upon to be our main striker and carry that weight off the bat. Lacazette was obviously our first choice but wants CL. Also think he is too similar to Rivière for us to get both. Leaves me wondering who else we would go for.

Would be a great signing. Supposed to have already been "offered" to us though, if true unlikely we are interested or it would have happened by now. Rather Caulker than Rodwell or Richards.

De Jong can play off a main striker and from Pardew's quotes it seems he sees him in this role so if we go for a 4 in midfield I would imaging SDJ will be the 1 in a 4-4-1-1. Cabella will be on a wing but I can't say whether it'll be Sissoko or Gouff he displaces. Personally i'd like to see us line up 4-3-3 but I think he'll stick to his 4-2-3-1 and line up the front six like this: Tiote Colback Sissoko SDJ Cabella Cisse / Gouff Possibly Sissoko in for Colback with Cabella and Gouff on each flank but I think he'll want to play Ginger Jack, at least to start with. I think he might start Anita v City. That way, Pardew has an excuse to drop Anita after we've lost and can keep Colback in the side after the next game. Will be one more chance than I expect Anita to be given. Unfortunately cant see him being a starter. Hope I am wrong. One of the bright spots of last season.

More chance of us getting Payet who can play on the wing. Highly doubt we will get either though. We want four more after Cabella, including a RB and Two striker (at least one of which will be deplorable on the wing a well as up top - whether the player knows that or not). As for Number four it's a toss up.. CB? RW? DM (not needed but linked) I expect this last signin to be brushed under the table and forgotten about tbh.

A CB or 2 is more important than another midfielder. Agree, especially if one of the two strikers we bring in actually can cover the wing too (not that it matters to Pardew). Think we are adequately covered through the middle, if only in numbers rather than true quality. Just don't see a CB signing happening with the foreshadowing of Satka and Streete. Although very little been said about the latter recently. All depends whether we sell mapou. Maybe we do fancy Richards but in the middle, not sure I like that.

Surely most improved player last season for us. One of the only bright spots last year and one of the only faces I will be happy to see again this season. However, Can't see pardew putting him anywhere but on the bench though this year

Gosling was turd. He was a watered down Kevin Nolan with zero end product. He certainly got himself into right areas but influencing games? I don't think so. Maybe it just would have taken him one goal to go in and we would have seen a different player. Would have preferred to have kept Guthrie.

Can you not be aware of this strategy and also upset about the sales that result from it? For sure but it's a bit like agreeing to be in an "open relationship" and throwing the toys out of the pram when your partner runs off with another person....................... I imagine
