  1. As likely as him coming here tbh. It was his boyhood time after all.
  2. Hughton said before the Tiote deal there might be 2-3 more signings, so I would guess that leaves a striker and defender to come in. If Ben Arfa comes then there will be a defender to follow. All these names like Santa Cruz, Caceida, Miller and Keane are just speculation....we're not going to sign them all are we? I don't believe Caceido really offers anything more than what we have. Rather give Ranger a crack tbh. If we are bringing in another striker they either have to be significantly better than what we have or be able to effectively cover another position ie Right Wing.

His attitude is a risk worth taking for us, especially on loan. I doubt he will be much worse than some of the petulant behaviour shown by Bellamy, Robert, N'Zog, Dyer or Barton. Whilst he is still young he is close to getting a reputation that clubs wont touch him with a bargepole. Hughton will drill that into him.. Hopefully before Barton or Carrolls fist or forehead oblige. Bottom line is there is no way a player of his talent should be coming to us, as mentioned earlier, if it wasnt for the baggage he would be somewhere much higher flying.
  4. Think its two domestic loans. Can get more from abroad. Keane would be great, can't really see how Boyata would get enough games to warrant the loan, unless he can play RB. Wont get in ahead of Campbell, Willow, Colo or Tayls if he is still here.
  5. Who is a top manager for you btw? Put the likes of Mourinho, SAF, Ancelotti, Van Gaal or Wenger as manager of us and they wouldn't be able to do a (much) better job than Hughton does imo. I think Hughton has done very well ever since the start of last season and it seems like he continues the good work. We are not likely to be getting anywhere near the top managers in the world. If the momentum Chris is shifting continues in the same direction he will be going a long way to put us back into the shop window for the future. Right now there is little to tell how far he can take us, this is his first job and sometimes certain people fit better in certain jobs regardless of name/reputation or previous records. Hughton is still growing and learning as a manager, it suprises me how well we have done with such a miniscule back room team. Calderwood shouldn't be dismissed for his contributions.

I'm happy with both wings as is. Ben Arfa will be played through the centre if we sign him imo.

Depth for either wing, Ben Arfa can play all across the park, Jonas too. So we should be relatively covered, not least now we know Danger can play on the right wing! Could play Wayne down the middle too.. or shock horror interchange during the game! I wonder what would happen if we put Ben Arfa on the wing, and Jonas in the centre?, Jonas just can't cross a ball but he could be very effective in the centre where as far as I've seen Ben Arfa can actually out a decent ball in. We tried him there once I think, dont remember him being special or disgracing himself. Like him better on the wing though. No idea why he doesnt seem to have the confidence to shoot when he gets in decent positions.

I'd be confident of staying up with this team. It won't happen though, Nolan is captain, I think Barton will be swapped for Nolan. Nah.. depends on the opposition. Hughton was content to keep club captain Nicky Butt out of the picture. If he is on form Barton will be picked ahead. I'd expect Nolan to be interchanged with Ben Arfa depending on how physical the game is.
  9. BOO.. Much better choice than Bougherra or Zayette.

I thought they had ruled the move out and denied it twice?
  12. This.. Would be a good addition. If Citeh are really willing to put Lescott on loan we should be in there like a shot.

OOh un-stickied... this shit is getting real.
  14. Zayatte wouldnt be too bad at that price, another body for CB, RB or DM. Not awe inspiring though. We can do better.

Which considering what I suspect our terms are likely to be (ie s***), I can't say I massively blame them. Except they were apparently the same terms Marseille originally set.
  16. Needs to take a long look at himself if true. No way he should be turning his nose up at that. Fair play he stuck with the club last season when he could have left, but thats a cracking wage for someone where he is at with his career.

I think we are the only ones in for him. Marseille are just dead set on not dealing with us on our terms.
  18. What was wrong with his attitude tonight? He reacted when someone squared off at him and pushed him. To be fair the majority of older players might have reacted the same. Didnt see anything other than a great attitude for the rest of the game though.
  19. Pretty funny interview. No dice Burton.
  20. quality Lua Lua said he was all set to do the somersaults! but the ball bounced out.
  21. Lua Lua, Krul and Ranger were the major plus sides. Good seeing Kadar back and Tavernier didn't do too bad. None of the kids embarrassed themselves. Donaldson and Vukic were disappointing in central midfield. Lovenkrands and Shola were pants for the most part, Lovenkrands especially. Not convinced Lua Lua is cut out for the premiership but this should do his confidence good, shame he could score, he really deserved it.
