Barton Guthrie is the ideal partnership, til it happens and it looks no better! I think Butt is too "experienced" to be dropped right now in anyones eyes within the game. If anyone gets dropped it will be Nolan, like many have highlighted, he didnt do that much wrong but did the same right, despite all our hopes I think Shearer is likely to be more loyall to Butt aswell. It might be touch and go that either Barton or Guthrie are fit enough to play next weekend anyway.

Faye and Bassong would have been an excellent partnership this year! He could have also done a great job in DM aswell. One of the worst transfers I can remember. Granted we should have had strenth in depth, who would expect a "top class manager" to see that one was way past his prime, two were championship standard, one was dodgy as fuck and needed time to adapt to the premier league, then the one he didnt like would be the best player in our team this season. -

On the up side if its SBR, he might start put Nile Ranger down on the team sheet thinking he is Shola... On the downside maybe he did vice versa today -

Please dont play Ameobi, Butt, Edgar or Ryan Taylor again this season. Pray Barton is back in and in some kind of match fit state very soon. Lets also hope Guthrie isnt out for an extended period either. Martins and Carrol to start up front next game and we are back to 4-4-2. -

More spectacular implosion than Leeds! Cant say it hasnt been coming for years though. Dont see anyway back into this game. Cant see us beating anyone else this season either. -

"didnt allow himself to be bullied by Michael Owen." Surely thats like being beaten up by an infant. Nothing going our way at the moment, then on top of that, weak as piss defence and attack, cant mark, cant pass. Need a fucking miracle, infact we need three or four. -

Few eyebrows raised with the starting line up! Looks like a team of players that will work their asses off. (bar shola) we shall see. Probably the slowest side in the premier or championship with Edgar and Stoller added to Butt and Nolan -
Stay on as coach certainly if he works with the new man. Manager, your having a laugh. That said not a huge jump from Bruce. Its just a sign of how worn down we are that Bruce is an option, the next stop is the likes of Curbishley, Dowie and Burley.. before we know it Kinnear will seem like SAF. If Shearer doesnt stay on neither will Dowie IMO.
-
Its the best thing, having a true fan of the club getting the oppurtunity to go in and kick some people into action. I'm sure he has been seeing exactly what we have. The drink thing seems extreme, certainly the Souness coming out.. There cant be any arguments given the situation we are in though. Had we been coasting in the mid to upper table when he came in it might seem a little harsh, but we should be pulling out all the stops right now. I like the speak up to the new regime if you dont like it, then leave comments. Like with bringing in Ferris, seems a bit much for 8 games (hinting at a long term stay) but I guess its what ever will get the job done.
-
Only 8 games. no more according to the man himself. lets see what happens if he gets us to stay up.
-
Dowie in just to show that there is something uglier than the football we have been playing.
-
With only 8 games to go and him only manager till the end of the season do you think the board will allow him to bring in whoever he wants as his backroom staff and sack current backroom staff members ? Also if he did bring in his own backroom staff I have no doubts they will all be experienced. Shearer isn't daft he knows his weaknesses and wouldn't bring in anyone unproven at this stage to support him in those weaknesses I think Shearer will pretty much have the board by their knackers at this point. I dont expect anyone but Rob Lee to come in straight away. Hughton and Calderwood will certainly stay on until the end of the season at least. There isnt any point getting rid of anyone. Both Hughton and Calderwood will act as the experience for now. If he stays on past the season it will be interesting to see if John Carver returns alongside Lee as predicted before xmas. Its all on the up now until the we get a thumping from Chelsea to bring us back down to earth.
-
Question is will the Lee come join the coaching staff? If he stays on It wouldnt be a suprise to see Gary Speed back too. Hughton and Calderwood on their bikes.
-
Could you imagine if it was an apil fool. all hell would break loose!
-
Win win for shearer.. he wont get blamed for taking us down. Question is, will he stay after the season.
-
Wouldnt be upset if he came. Would certainly take him yesterday given the situation we are in. I still think we can do better. I dont think we will do better, infact im more inclined to think we would stick with Kinnear and having him work part time. Not sure about titarse returning but if he can sort him out like he has at wigan it wouldnt be bad. I think its more about the crowd pressure than anything else. Him and Colo would be shit your pants stuff for the fans though.
