Has he even been given some reserve games? He needs some kind of pitch time. Probably hasnt helped there havent been any reserve games in a while. Will be interesting to see who comes in the door in january. An experienced LB would be pretty handy.

Hardly a suprise the players were up for it, playing a top four team. Like Sam said its playing the lesser teams this mentality is lacking, there is only so much you can drive into players before they have to pull there finger out for themselves. I thought the substitutes were fine, although I initially thought Roz was going to stay in midfield to replace Smith. It was a wise and ambitious move as N'zogbia was getting ripped to shreds in defence. The starting line up wasnt unexpected either, we just dont have the talent to out play chelsea or any top four team, especially in midfield, anyone that thinks otherwise is dillusional. Respectfull and ultimately negative tactics were all we can expect. Like against Arsenal its a performance that gives at hope but still files down to whether the players can be bothered against other teams outside the top four. Allardyce and his team have to instill that in the players but they can only cram the words down their throats so much. The majority of the team played well today and Faye was a beast, Butt and Smith im still not sure about in midfield and duff is still finding his way back to fitness. Maybe just maybe we can see N'Zogbia back in Midfield again soon.

Wonder if mancini sold the house he bought yet? can see the plus points in a shearer appointment but i still cringe at the thought. sam moving upstairs wouldnt be bad, but i think he would sooner walk.

just a squad filler. cant see why anyone is complaining. we obviously dont have sacks of money to throw around in january. i can see ameobi leaving and i dont think we could accomodate a big name striker without upsetting those we have. he is likely at least to be a bit hungrier than any big signings that would only be coming here for the money.

To be fair if it means spending more money on getting in a couple of creative/pacey players for the midfield, signing this fella to cover Martins absence is fine. We should be covered up front and we dont need a big money striker who will demand to play every week.

Rumours round the swindon game today that the Swindon player has signed. Dont know anything about him other than what you can find on the net. Signed for Swindon from Plymouth in the summer (2007) Turned heads playing Charlton of the park. (great sign ) Plays LB but apparently is versatile. Has been on trial at Everton, but looks like we have beaten them and a couple of other sides to his signature. Wiki says he will sign for 1.1m + a few clause payments, who knows who put that on there though.

Happy to rate them properly at the end of the season, most players havent even got close to getting into their stride and next to none of foreign signings have had time to adapt. Beye is looking like a duck to water though. I expect Roz to pick up the pace eventually, Cacapa will be a rock with faye. Barton is getting better, Smith hasnt been great so far but hasnt been settled into one position. Geremi has been the most dissapointing so far Enrique needs more time, looks good though, like Roz and cacapa will be good once settled. Viduka hasnt played enough, needs to stay fit, but looks good when he has been fit, doesnt quite look sharp enough (for obvious reasons) the rest of the time.

Apparently he has signed for us, if the noises from the Swindon game today are true? 17 and supposed to be a decent prospect. Seems to be a little like the situation with the young french striker we have supposed to have signed.

Well at least its the first time in years ive been vaguely excited by anything to do with the england team. neither cappello or lippi will just pick player because of their name or club they play for.

I love Beye..... Agreed Someone feeling a bit Beye-sexual? Was gutted when it looked like we missed him early in the summer, but delighted we got him in the end, he is a beast and will be great the more he plays in the premiership. Likewise with Cacapa, although he is winding down. I think Rozehnal will also work out, but he is too lightweight at the moment and hasnt settled immediately, its hardly suprising we have been at sixes and sevens so much, with such a lack of premiership experience amongst our back four. All the chopping and changing hasnt helped either, its just a shame our previous defence needed so much axing the new guys havent had the proper time to settle.

This...but swap Taylor with Capaca except cacapa is twice the defender taylor is, and would complement faye excellently imo. Taylor still has alot to learn, he looked good on the whole and I was delighted he got us the goal. But he still make stupid errors of judgement that cost us points. Obstructing Adebeyor at the death is a good example that he could have easily been punished for and possibly leaving us in the shit. Cacapa still needs to settle in, but his brain isnt prone to those kind of rookie mistakes, Taylor can sit tight, fill the gaps and learn from those around him, he will soon grow out of it. It doesnt help having years playing round the shit he has been.
