From the worst of Daglish to the worst of Keegan. Its an improvement though. Gutted we lost this game, it was there for the taking and could have easily gone either way. Cant believe we are still suffering at the back, but its no suprise given how it was patched together today. Rozenhal is still finding his feet in the premiership and needs to toughen, losing Faye was a big blow today. Cant fault the effort today, but lots of work to do at the back. N'Zogbia is doing a good job at LB but he isnt a good LB, we need another LB in January if he doesnt want to play Enrique. Possibly better keeping Roz out of the side whilst he is settling, he isnt up to the pace yet or physicality. Carr didnt actually look too bad today.

I think we know which sam will go with.

Sam is using tactics that he has employed to great effect at his former sides. he is doing this because for him it is the best way of getting results until he finds a system and team that works best for us. its Dangerous but in theory he should be safer with these tactics. but its taking far too long for the players to adapt to it with poor results and confusion. now its the crunch time, does sam stick with what he knows and hope it clicks or change what clearly isnt working to appease.

maybe bez should stick to playing championship manager and leave the criticism to people that have been there and done it. just going back to 442 isnt going to magically solve things. the players look unfit. un motivated, un organised and tactically unaware. not to mention the fact 442 just wont cut it against some sides. unfortunately criticism like this also normally only makes managers with egos to stick harder with their tactics.

Just the kick up the arse blackburn needed for saturday!

Yeah it is a tad annoying but dont we get more games than they do back in the motherland? seemed to get more for your money on the broadband deal but i dont think my laptop could handle it!

Any chance of changing it to loser by beck?

Should we get rid of anyone in January. Several different answers really... ..There are a few players I'd love to get rid of but will or can we replace them properly? comes down to whether they are actually doing the club any harm. If they are making trouble amoungst the squad than yes. But id rather we kept them until the summer if there is going to be little problem keeping them until then. The squad isnt big enough at the minute. Come the summer its a different matter, Carr, Babayaro, Ameobi, Ramage, Pattison will all be out the door without much doubt.

Heads should have rolled along with McClaren tbh.

Terrible choice for country and Shearer if they went with that. He might not do a bad job with the right people around him and given the best support but its a great risk for him, if it goes tits up where does he go from there? Cappello or someone with an appeasing CV will only be good enough for me. To be honest I dont want to see Shearer thrown to the wolves, just yet.

Outside chance of all the home nations giving it a crack this time. If Scotland and N.Ireland plays aswell as they have been, they could really be in with a shout.

The only shining light to come from the darkness today. Some fantastic blocks and tackles. The more he plays the better he is going to get, going to be a huge player for us over the next couple of years imo.

fuck off kev tbh. But yes, we did play better football under Roeder than we are at the moment. We will improve though.. I mean we have to right?

Whilst Butt played no worse than most I wouldnt say he played remotely worse. The midfield were particularly shocking today, couldnt get a foot on the ball, gave the defence no protection and gave the ball away with ease whenever we had it. The lack of effort tracking back for the third goal was a joke. Butt just let Babel straight past him then gave up, leaving him in acres of space to slot home. Emre looked unfit and lost today. Whilst I understand taking off Emre was stupid as he was one of the only players capable of conjuring something, he looked knackered and completely out of sorts. I would have liked to have seen Emre and Barton in the middle though and Smith make way, but i doubt it would have made a shred of difference.

keep at the very least til the summer.

Completely, Sam has signed some great players and will given money. Apparently its motivating them and using them in the right positions and formations to playing like they should or can thats the problem. We desperatley need a playmaker or two and a pacey winger Im confident we will get at least half of my order in january.

Do we? I would say for now, yes we do. If we dont give him the season were going to look like the revolving door of managers like we always have done, lessening the limited appeal the job already has. TBH England could do us a massive favour, but i doubt they'd go for him after his performance so far at NUFC. Cool. That "Do we?" wasn't my own personal judgment on the matter, was just wondering what people thought. I hastily said "Sam out" earlier in this thread but I know it's not anywhere near as simple as that. What do you think then? It is tough, other factors are tied up in this for a change, its not like a simple sacking like Souness, although if the board wanted, the excuse could be it wasn't their man. Going to cost about £6m though to sack him, then probably the same again to get a decent manager in. I'd rather he received that money in the window to buy some more players, and let him see out the season. I don't even have a clear opinion on the matter anymore, like i said before, i really am not trying to naturally react in a bad way about this, but my opinion all season is it hasn't been good enough, this has just confirmed to everyone it hasn't been and i don't want to lead the stupidity pack by calling for his head right now. We dont Have to stick with him obviously. But Im fed up of this revolving doors policy, when does it end, it wont be the same with anyone else. A few losses whilst he is trying to impliment his own ideas and we will be straight back in the same position. Its far too soon to be sacking Sam for me, however mystifying the recent ineptness of our team and the tactics consistency is the key and we are yet to have a settled team or formation. People want too much too soon and hopes and aims are finally becoming more real as we find out how behind other teams we are. Its not just a case of putting managers off coming here either, certain players arent going to stick around or want to come to such an inconsistent set up.

Completely, too slow to the punch, no closing down, far too sloppy on control and possession was even more lacking than the entertainment.
-
Hard to take but we need to stick with allardyce.. Quite why he cant find a football team out of all the players we have I have no idea. It will click in time, but with shit like today on show he isnt going to get enough of what he desires. Is he tinkering too much? I hope so because I thought he was just trying to get results this season whilst slowly implimenting his ideas. If these are his tactics to get results, things are ominous to say the least.
