Can we change the title and merge all the identical pointless threads into this one?
-
Ron Atkinson, George Graham, Glen Hoddle, David O'Leary or maybe homecoming hero Frank Clarke? We could probably attract someone like Martinez though, or at least I'd like to think we would go for someone like that.
-
Personally I think Shearer will stay, I think dowie will be off but I expect both Carver and probably Lee to join the coaching staff.
-
In all likelyhood we might not buy more than one striker if that. Carroll, Ameobi, Ranger, Viduka, Xisco, Lovenkrands, smith could all feasibly stay here, granted I hope at least half of them dont.

Give it another year or so!

This. Its a catastrophy but hardly one that has come out the blue. I had resigned myself to this several weeks ago, so I am in a position to try and look to the positives. Still hurts like hell, I have a fucking horrible taste in the top of my mouth and throat. But its something I really think had to happen to get rid of the crap at this club and clean the slate, probably something that should have happened several seasons ago, we have been treading water and papering over the cracks for way too long. I just hope we get the right people to make the best of the oppurtunity of a new start.

Would be fantastic.. but premier league and spanish clubs already want him. He wont stay in the championship. Until we know who is staying/going there is little point speculating on names coming in.
-
As long as we know tmrw thats all the matters, we need a new coach or shearer staying confirmed straight away. Whether we would actually be best keeping Shearer rather than going for someone else is a good question. Depending on whom we would get there can be many pros and cons for both. I cant see anyone matching Shearers love, commitment and working knowledge of the club/area on the other hand we could surely find a more qualified experienced coach that would excite both the crowd and the players.. generally with us though if you dont have or soon aquire the first three points that shearer has, you dont succeed here or last with the fanbase long.

A good solid formation but more importantly a good solid core to build the new side around. The biggest issue right now is making sure we have Shearer staying on or a new manage in place by the end of the week. Then we need to work out who we will be getting rid of and making sure they are shifted out of the club immediately, this could be a huge problem, even if clubs want some of our wasters we could be stuck til mid summer before the clubs make their moves. That would be a disaster as we really need to know which areas we need to fill. If Arsenal are really interested in Bassong I hope we work out a cash plus player (be it transfer or loan) deal. Alternatively maybe loan the likes of Bassong/Enrique out. Someone needs to point out Juventus to the board as a good example, we just cant afford to half arse next year and money going into next year.

Sorry if I missed the post elsewhere, Jonas has said the same thing apparently.. although I'd be startled to see him still here next year. http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/newcastle-utd/newcastle-utd-news/2009/05/24/jonas-sticking-in-toon-79310-23698125/

This.. I want to see him fix the mess, he will need outside investment though and lots of it, then they need to appoint people to run the club that are qualified to do it properly.
-
Should be going all out to get him, should have done last summer to be fair. Husselkep would be a decent addition also. Whether we could afford their wages is more a sticking point than them being interested in playing for us in the championship. Id expect us to go for them and the deals to fall through because we will only offer them a pittance.

Either he fucks off or he Fucks off imo. seriously though, fuck off.

I have felt sick all week and its getting worse. i havent expected us to stay up for a while now. all this false hope is killing me! its not that we arent capable of getting a result. its just, i have little this season that shows that we will turn up and perform. -
You've got a deal! I'll take first shift, Louise. Really? I heard she has gone very droopy now she is in the Redknapp family.
-
No thanks, past it now even for for championship.

Looks like bentley is out of spurs.. anyone take him on the cheap now his oversized ego has been given a kicking?
-
Going to be hard to watch where ever you are watching it from. im never normally to superstitious but now im debating whether to watch it or just follow on here, the only time i did the latter this year was the boro game. seems so long since i watched us win on the telly i dont know if i dare watch.

consistent compared to the rest of the dross we have. He is capable of having a good game, infact he has had more than a few this season, its a shame they arent as consistent as the press would like to think. He has to be replaced next year regardless of which division we are in. I'm still playing with the idea of keeping him around as a squad player though, he is one of the few level headed honest pro's we have. Like Gary Speed, he is good to keep around the place imo.
-
Like Mowen said, worth a try. Not a chance in a million years it will be overturned though. Clear red.
-
If we stay up there is a slim chance we will keep him, but thats IF we stay up. I hope we dont bend over backwards on a fee though. we should get a decent sum.. and maybe some players on loan/exchange as part of the fee. Might be a decent idea if we are in the Championship.

Along with Bassong, we may have seen Beye in a Newcastle shirt for the last time now... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1183992/Bye-Beye-Newcastle-Defender-miss-crunch-clash-Villa.html?ITO=1490 EDGAR -
Wrong imo, we were in a position then, where we should have been making the step up and replacing him and others in the squad with better players. Not doing the last that was the mistake. He is better than the majority of s*** we have now but thats just an indication of how far we have fallen, he was never better than distinctly average, its just we have fallen the other side that. In hindsight he would have been useful kept around. The logic wasnt wrong though imo, just another botched half arsed attempt to improve the squad.
