Is pretty much spot on. I've said all along we'll hear nothing substantial or credible until the deal is completed due to all interested (serious) parties being bound by the terms of NDA's. Much as we Newcastle fans like to have our daily dose of media coverage, in this case nothing can be disclosed and therefore the press and media can do little more than speculate and make things up to fill their columns. Like everyone I'll be glad when it's done but I can't understand the present levels of panic/anxiety. A deal will be concluded and Alan Shearer will almost certainly be installed as the new manager as long as his wage demands are sensible. I would be surprised if he is not working on things already but like all other serious parties is unable to say anything until the business is concluded. At this stage of pre season most clubs are working on little more than condition and fitness and most managers will have had little input so far - Cloughie probably wouldn't turn up until a few days before the season kicked off. The tension being created by the present situation could actually have a positive effect on our season, if the news is broken and the manager is confirmed close to the season starting rather than two months before- a bit like the lift a team and fans get from a new managerial appointment. I'm afraid this post is way to sensible to take seriously.

I'd be amazed if anybody will pay the price Ashley is asking, and am almost certain that Llambias is talking shite about there being a couple of bids on the table.

They're all working on the assumption that Llambias is telling the truth, does anybody actually believe the lying bastard? My take on it is there have been no bids made, and there are unlikely to be at the price the fat idiot is asking.

I've heard from a pretty reliable source that the Shepherd consortium involves some of the biggest wankers in football. Names to send a shiver up the spine. I hope to god it doesn't happen.

Football did exist before Sky you know, it's that sort of ignorance that gives our fans a bad name. As for Bruce, I think he will be a good solid appointment for them given time. However, they have a sizeable number of small-minded cretins who follow them, who won't give him time because of his black and white connections. This one's guaranteed to end in tears.
