  1. http://www.sbfcbanter.co.uk/sbfc.mpl?id=448575 and the replies further down. Just to balance it out a bit.
  2. Its the past, though. Its a new chairman (The previous one was a massive part of the problems), new manager, new players and mostly a new generation of fans. Also, Chris Hughton will know the club well. Spurs used Broadhall Way for all of their reserve matches for several seasons, ending a couple of seasons back. A full strength Spurs team also played Stevenage in a friendly each season as part of that deal.
  3. Nope. Same place, just renamed as The Lamex stadium for money reasons. Lamex is the chairmans other company. And for the record, Boro fans are decent people nowadays, and have a good reputation among other league/non-league fans. Don't let history, and the fact that so many people who had no interest in the game or Stevenage sour that fact. A review from an MK Dons fans visit just last week - http://www.footballgroundguide.com/stevenage/stevenage_review2.htm I know i'll be fighting a losing battle over the next few weeks, but, yeah. I'll be sticking up for Stevenage a fair bit
  4. Holy shit. I've mentioned it before, but I live in Stevenage, they're my local team & I go whenever possible. Seriously never thought i'd have to put up with all that shit 13 years ago ever again. Until today. Fucking helllllll
  5. Thats peoples wishes granted for no Colo in the next 3 games, then...
  6. At the end of the article, theres some good positive quotes from Capello on Carroll too; Capello reserved special praise for Carroll, who passed a late fitness test on a groin injury to make his first appearance for his country. "I'm really happy for Carroll and his performance, he's a really good player for the future of England," added Capello. "We have found a good player and that's important."

    LOL at Lolro

Still at the club, but suffered a pretty long-term injury at the start of the summer, IIRC.
  8. As much as we all know Adrian Durham talks shite, following on from that blog he's been repeating the same thing on the radio this afternoon. Fair play to him
  9. Aint april fools yet, surely? Freddy Shepherd wants to buy back Newcastle United in one of football's most surprising takeover comebacks and a bid is imminent. ESPNsoccernet can reveal that Shepherd, who sold the Magpies to current owner Mike Ashley in June 2007, is ready to make an offer that would rid the club of its £90 million debt, to help comply with UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations and enable the club to move forward. Ashley has made no secret of his desire to sell Newcastle, virtually from the moment he bought the club from Shepherd and Sir John Hall, and slapped a £100 million asking price on the Magpies as they languished in the Championship last season. But since the club returned to the Premier League, there has been little to no takeover talk. A close friend of Shepherd's confirmed to ESPNsoccernet: "I know Freddy is giving very serious consideration to making an offer and returning to St James' Park." Shepherd, who is currently on Tyneside, is not denying that he is leading a takeover of his beloved Newcastle United and would only say: "I am not prepared to comment on this." And ESPNsoccernet has established through City sources, having just broken the story of the Liverpool takeover, that the foundations for a bid to buy Newcastle have already been put in place. Shepherd, who endured his fair share of controversy during his time as chairman at St James' Park, might not have been the most popular owner in the past, but the fans would welcome the exit of Ashley, given the club's recent plight. The confusion as to why Chris Hughton has not been offered a new contract might be related to the potential sale of Newcastle and ESPNsoccernet understands the former full-back, who guided Newcastle back to the top flight, would be given a chance should Shepherd regain control of Newcastle. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=838065&sec=england&cc=5739&cc=5739

    Joey Barton

If anyones seen it, there's an excellent interview with Barton in todays news of the world. Has a good dig at Karl Henry too, saying he lacked intelligence and that Barton doesn't rate him. Not seen it online yet.
  11. What the cunting shit do you smoke? Those 2 posts have turned me into a laughing mess
  12. Krul; Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini, Enrique; Barton, Nolan, Tiote, Gutierrez; Carroll, Ameobi
  13. Talksport reckon H&G are not being given the right to appeal, either. Shame.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Thats great that so many people have sent in cards and messages etc. Can only help our chances of having him stay at the end of the season, tugging at his heartstrings like that. Good work whoever made the effort.
  15. Just got in, what a night. Had to sit with Chelsea fans which is always a bit of a shitter, and fuck knows how I kept quiet when Taylors FK went in, then Sholas winner . Was really impressed with Ferguson too, think he looks a decent prospect. And that "Thats why we're champions" chant being sung at Stamford Bridge was class, couldn't help but laugh to that one.
  16. He's made into Garth Crooks team of the week on the BBC site (along with Coloccini and Ben Arfa).
  17. That goal made it 2-2. Paul Huntington got the first equaliser. Oh yeah.
  18. Aside from whats been mentioned, Obafemi Martins goal away at Spurs when we were 1-0 down and he lashed it in at about 100 mph always sticks in my mind for some reason. Purely unexpectedness and joy when that one went in.

    U23s & Academy

Cheers for clearing that up. Thought he'd left but couldn't find any confirmation. Guess that explains why

Can anyone confirm what the story is with Zamblera? Is he still under contract, has he left etc? Cheers.
  21. Eh? On Fifa '10 he is right footed. Ahhh. I predict it'll be corrected for Fifa 11
  22. http://www.tctubantia.nl/sport/algemeen/7157469/Cheick-Tiote-naar-Newcastle.ece Basic google translate of that says he's agreed terms, after the 2 clubs earlier in the day agreed terms. Mentions medical and visa too, and says fee not known. No idea how reputable the site is though...
