Players today worth 4-5x that in transfer fees with not even 1/2 the skill and ability. We signed a 28-29 year old Les Ferdinand on the back of nearly 3 20+ goal seasons for 6M. Amazing that he then went on to put in 29 and 21 with us the following 2 seasons...but still only got back 6M for him.

2 Questions for any of my fellow US based people... 1) How long does it take for the replays to be available for full matches? Esp if our match is at 245p EST on Wednesday? 2) NBC's website says the match will be on Live Extra Time on UVerse channel 1697, but the program guide on the U-Verse site and on the cable box itself says it will be Spurs match - with no mention of our match on the guide. Also, none of the overflow channels match up to the schedule. Do they generally adjust pre-match? I generally just go there night before or day-of and find it and don't pay much attention to the schedule, but asking b/c I will be on the road and am a little confused as to the wrong schedule on the U-Verse guide / NBC's programming schedule -- difficult to set the DVR. Fwiw I thought Arlo White did great job commentating our match despite his usual mistake or two. He being he voice for the USA coverage he did well to paint the past and present status of the club.

I'm very concerned with our inability to kill games off. We've been fortunate to have great team defensive performances and I'll never argue with the results - but this was a match that needed killing off. Really hope we go in and sign a target man striker to pair with Remy capable of doing the Shola role better; if that's how we're going to play for the foreseeable future.

If a player is prone to foul (Tiote) and is judged for fouls that are incorrect more often than other players based on reputation, he is asked and forced to change his game to cut that part out or he'll continue to be booked or judged as fouling a player when it was a clean tackle. If a player is prone to offisde (Cisse) and is judged for offside calls that are also incorrect more often than other players based on reputation, should he not be looking to change or time his runs better to avoid this? How is that not something we should be clamoring on about? If the refs call something a certain way based on reputation, you need to change or you're going to head down the same path over and over man.

By all means be angered by him but by this particular incident? He was onside. He made the move at exactly the correct time. The linesman was the one who got it wrong. On a related note the phrase "Cisse doesn't understand the offside rule" and variations thereof will drive to me a Falling Down style breakdown. Papiss Cisse is a professional footballer, I'm sure he is very much aware of the offside rule. The problem is, quite clearly, he's just suited to our style of football and he's devoid of any confidence. Yes, he was onside (imo) and the lino got it wrong (imo). I'm sure he understands the offside rule, but he's not very good at showing his understanding, ever, really, to be honest.

The same player who hasn't done s*** in the PL in quite some time? I want nothing more than him to score goals for fun, but he's not doing much out there...and the chances he gets he's offside or fluffs it ffs. So yeah, I think its fully justified to slate it him; he looks lost out there. Every match I hope he just kicks on and scores man, just like I posted earlier - i miss the happy smiling Cisse who looked like he was a clinical goal scoring machine.

Yup. Well to a point, but he was actually onside so you could argue he made the move at exactly the right time. If he timed it right, there wouldn't be a call man. That's the point. Timing it right is 100% without a doubt he's on. Which he wasn't given this leaning, foot, head, etc discussion we are having.

It was awesome. Telling you, Big Mike gets a random "ahhh, fuck it" moment in every match. He'll randomly cut up field from near the half way line and play what he considers dangerous ball to someone checking or like today, which was a treat, he gets the ball near the box and just gives 0 fucks about it and attacks.

All true, and sad really. Wish he would have just went back to Argentina a while ago as I absolutely loved the player.

France national team could use a bit of a hard working all-around player that can be a goal threat. The Euros they took a shocking number of midfielders and did fuck all. I'm talking with wayyyy too much bias mind.
