I certainly don't go along with the concensus but do think there are some really stupid and bizarre views/posts. Then again, it is the internet and there should be an expectancy that there will be a wide range of opinions and so there should be. How dull would it be if everyone agreed with each other?

Think of the worst possible manager that could come here and you probably won't be far wrong given Ashleys track record at decision making.

Hope he make a full recovery and lives a long and happy life, filled with wonderful things - just not as our manager.

As I said earlier, I was certain John Robertson's coaching would improve Milner's play - he also was a winger without much pace, but he was instrumental in Forest's European Cup successes.... I've heard from people more qualified than myself in the past saying Robertson is an excellent coach full stop.

Milner's crossing was very inconsistent - though I haven't seen any marked improvement with Jonas.

Just admit it, Given is a better keeper than Harper, there is a reason why he was our No1 for so long. Top keeper, tremendous servant and good luck to him, he deserved better, not sure thats with Man City but we will see.

I know we have issues across the squad but he is the worst forward I have seen in a black and white shirt since Guivarche! Stoke in the Championship didnt want him, why do we persist? Loyalty, nostalgia, desperation? Are Xisco and Carrol that bad?

I don't blame him at all - its easy for people to say he should have stayed till the summer - he had an offer now, who knows what would have happened by the summer - could have been injured, City could have looked at Buffon etc - thus circumstances could have been very different and he needs to do what is right for him - bloody hell, he's given us 12 years of great service, he doesn't owe us a thing - its not his fault the hierarchy continue to screw things up. To be fair, he had every right to go a long time ago, the number of false promises and new dawns at this club over the last 12 years, it is admirable a player of his quality stuck it out.

Not sure I agree about it being stronger. Think Harper is a weaker keeper, Nolan looks half the player he was 2 years ago and I haven't a clue how good Taylor is. Our left wingers are now Lovenkrands and Duff (yes Jonas can play there but that's not his best position), which I think is weak. Given the fact we additionally lost Barton on a long term injury, I would have hoped we would have invested better.

Now starting to feel quite down. Our performances continue to show no signs of improvement, our manager continues to look he has lost his marbles, our squad looks thinner by the day and our owner has failed once again to back his manager.

I believe our midfield is still pretty woeful, our one good player lacks a consistent final ball. The rest are mediocre and its shown time and time again this season. Bearing in mind, Barton is now out for most of the rest of this season, our midfield has not been adequately strenghtened, once again. All in all, not strengthened for me, not massively weaker but given our situation, too weak as it is.

Given our circumstances and current squad, I had hoped for more but it was only a hope.

Just to clarify, the club have just given a 3 year contract to that pile of cr*p I've just watched up front? Brilliant Kinnear, genius!!

Enrique has been excellent, Jonas busy but final ball sometimes not so good, Carrol has done quite well considering. I also think Butt has been ok and Bassong in general has looked good. Ameobi is a disgrace, truly shocking, Nolan and Duff a waste of space, more midfielders are needed as what I'm seeing out there in midfield isn't good enough.

First time in a long time that I've looked at the line up for both teams and thought, actually we look weak.

Naylor is awful, really awful

He hasn't impressed me for a while but that could be because he isn't playing with the same calibre of players he used to (Diouf, Campo,Djorkaeff etc) or the change in managers. So maybe if he came to us with our players and manager, oh wait.....
