Our left side is atrocious
-
I honestly can't believe some think we will win all 3 home games, given our record this year and the consistent level of performances these players have given week in, week out.
-
Not as good as Given, definetely lacks some confidence, but no wonder when you have that crap in front of you, not the worst keeper though in Prem and we have bigger probs than Harper.
-
10 - not because I expected anything from today but the manner of performance once again is that of a Championship side
-
We are going down - the signings Kinnear made are laughable - Ryan Taylor and Nolan are Division 1 players, add to the likes of Butt and Duff who were past it 3 years ago, our midfield is horrendous, just horrendous
-
I have moved over the years and am now sat almost on the halfway line in the East Stand, absolutely perfect viewing but truly dreadful atmosphere, like a morgue - I'm getting older but I'm not quite ready for the Last of the Summer Wine lot that are round me.
-
You can't compare Martins with Asprilla, completely different players. Plus Oba's technique and general awareness is nowhere near what Tino's could be. Agree about the inconsistencies though. Agreed, one of Tino's great strenghts was his finishing composure where if you give Martins more than 0.1 secs to think about it in front of goal it generally goes bad.

He's looked fast as f*** off the mark to me like, shame there's not much else to him This
-
I also hope that Nolan is unfit because if he isn't it appears like his legs are shot al a Duff.
-
His set pieces on Saturday were awful and in particular his positioning as a RB was rubbish throughout the game. I am at a loss as to what he gives us apart from being a body to put on the park.
-
Funny, people go on about his performances earleir in the season but I thought he was distinctly average at the start and has just gone downhill from there. I can't comment on how good he was in other leagues but I don't think decision making or lack of it should be different from one league to the other and he makes some shocking decisions on the ball. It may be he is finding things difficult to adjust to the pace/physical side etc which could be addressed (though why spend £10m on a defender who needs to address these things in the first place) but with the ball at his feet it shouldn't make a blind bit of difference.

Taylor is a terrible player. I'd given him the benefit of doubt in that I thought his best position was) but he was even worse in that position.
-
Kinnear to return as manager in the summer, or so says that idiot Llambias

Common sense says that JK wouldn't be back if Shearer does well. However, there has been very few common sense decisions from our owner since he turned up. -
Completely agree with Al to bring him back, best striker we have in this club by a country mile. Jesus, its not like we have done well when he hasn't been in the side. If he is fit, he has to start.

I like a man who can laugh at himself, the quib about needing Ferris' services as a barrister was good.
-
Staying at 8-9, too tough a run in, not even Houdini himself could get us out of this one? (praying I am wrong!!!)
-
There is no chance Shearer would have taken the job if Wise was going to have some control over him.
-
Pleased, but concur with others that it is too late, why didn't this happen when Kinnear feel ill? If it had been any other person, I'd have thought it was a stunt to keep fans for next seasob but pretty confident Shearer wouldn't play any Ashley game.
-
This season, nobody can touch Messi, simply awesome
-
So exactly how much are these parachute payments and what size are they compared to the loss of Sky money, other sponsorship cancellations and drop in attendence income when in the championship?
-
We don't play well enough against the supposed sh*t teams and aren't good enough to beat the good teams (even when we raise our game) - I'm on 9, bordering on 10 - mixture of players not raising their game/being rubbish and managerial incompetence of the highest level.
-
This. The question is, are there managers out of work who would want to put themselves in the shop window by rescuing Newcastle with a job to the end of the season? Would they have a better chance of getting results than Chris Hughton? I believe the answer to both questions is yes. Agreed
-
There were and still are better options than Kinnear, Hughton and Calderwood - Ashley is an idiot.
-
There was a arsenal corner in the first half which Collo was picking up, I think Gallas. Ball came over and Collo completely lost Gallas, it wasn't as if Gallas did some mazy run or anything, just went towards the ball, then didn't jump for it, Gallas had a free header which on the replays I could see Collo consider nudging him in the air but pulled out of it - it was just lucky it was a sh*t header by Gallas - truly woeful defending, in the Boumsong class.

At 1.5m or so, I had no expectation that he would be good and his performances have not given me any reason to change my opinion.
