That’s the problem of squad planning and financial management, not the scouting system. As long as we spotted talents that proves to be more valuable than the cost we paid then it’s a success You are right re Tonali though. We must have missed the background checking part

I think that’s pretty obvious that after the summer window, Mitchell got the V for the transfer power. So the implication of “no contact” should be now Mitchell doesn’t need or want to discuss with Howe for future transfers / squad planning Which is what Howe dislike most. We all know that.
-
Sometimes I do wonder why Mitchell said the current system is “not fit for purpose”. Was the system changed after Ashworth left? I mean that’s a system that spotted Bruno, Botman and Gordon so I won’t say it was a failure. Yes you can argue that we shouldn’t over spend last summer on Barnes and Hall but that’s a problem of decision rather than system

Angel Gomes made his name 5 years ago before leaving Man Utd. He was U21 / U23 regular starters back at that time. I won’t say he is obscure

Brazil in danger of missing WC2026
-
Aye, I think that’s pretty clear, all the players knew it
-
I would say he is interested in drumming up interest and hence he is able to ask for much higher wages from all parties as he is now a “70m rated” star
-
It does look like we have been used as leverage by the Guehi camp
-
You can try to explain passion to EPL when they inform you that due to PSR you are going to have 10 points deduction
-
But then if their past issue is cleared then can Newcastle follow their past act to increase revenue as well? I just want to have a fair playground
-
I do wonder what will happen next if Man City win the case, or EPL could no longer bear the legal cost and decide to scrap the FFP/PSR. The clubs still need to comply with UEFA rules right? Would Man City start the war against UEFA?

I do agree that Man Utd wasn’t that bad before the first goal. Liverpool's pressing was insane and Man Utd successfully broke through it and created several chances. With a bit of luck Man Utd might be able to score first and prevented such a heavy loss. It was not that one-sided the problem, however, is that this is exactly what Liverpool wanted to happen. They know their attackers are more clinical and as the new bald explained, they studied Man Utd’s build up pattern and hence able to exploit it. So that means even if the game was rematches, Liverpool 99% will still get the 3 points.

You really shouldn’t have that much expectation on Ugarte. I know you want to illustrate the system is fine and it’s just Casemiro who made it look problematic. But then if one of the best DM in the world still unable to perform well in such a system, questions should be asked. I also find it funny that people tried to make Casemiro / ETH as the scrap goat, intentionally left Mainoo out of the conversation. To me Mainoo was equally bad.

From an accounting POV the amortization should be based on the player’s contract. If the player we bought has his contract beginning at Jul, then the first part of amortization expense should hit Jul, even if we completed the deal at Jun. Whether it’s down to months or days I ain’t sure, there may be special rules under FFP/PSR. Same goes for the conditional cost. If it’s normal business then yes it should be amortised by the remaining length of contract (say 10m extra, 2 years left, then 5m extra amortization per year once the conditions are met)

At that price I don’t know it’s fortune or misfortune as well.

Arsenal picked the correct manager and gave him time and $. Man Utd picked the wrong one.

The name of Freddy Adu suddenly crossed my mind
-
I think he even doesn’t know what to do himself, both personal life and career
-
He looked not familiar playing with Livra and thus missed /misunderstood a few link up passes. Other than that it’s mostly because he is just not good enough. Not bad to have one on bench / rotation but one of him / Almiron must be replaced next summer.
-
Ask him to learn trivela like Quaresma then
-
Before the goal he nearly scored a screamer. Had it go in it must be goal of the week.
-
If that’s Howe’s intention (preventing injuries) then we can only hope to have a few more lucky wins for the first half of the season. Try to sneak 1-2 goals in first half and then defend deeply in 2nd half seems to be his new plan If we successfully keep our starting eleven healthy for the whole season, we might be able to gain a lot of points after Mar, thus end up more points than last season I don’t know whether it’s called “lesson learnt”, but we have to trust Howe. You can also say we have no choice lol
-
what da fug are you on? I am defending Howe!
-
I don’t think he sulked. There were a few occasions that might end up serious injuries, and he still went for it. If he was sulking he wouldn’t gamble like that. Give him some time to regain his form.
