No, no, no. Hang on, I am not calling for Howe’s head for the transfer window disaster. If you remember - which I am sure no one did - I said the club should trust Howe and bring in Howe’s top target asap back in early July. Fail to do so would be a serious fuck up and Howe must be furious. What I want to say is the current situation, no matter whose fault it is, is edging closer and closer to Howe’s exit, either we sack him for fail to finish top 6 or he asks for mutual consent Just think 1. After last season, and considering the team needs to keep improving results / holding the purple patches, out of Top 6 finish (or no Euro competition) should result in sacking 2. We have an aging team vulnerable to injuries, and have massive hole in RW position (RCB in fact can still gamble on Schar but it’s fucking risky) 3. We got 6-70m to spend, which should be enough for most of the top class targets 4. And someone decided that we should go for the “Guehi or nothing” route It doesn’t make sense right? If that’s Howe’s call, then obviously he has too much faith in our squad. You may say it’s a good thing but that also means Howe simply got no excuse this season. Out of top 6 guarantees his exit. If that’s Mitchell’s call, then as someone suggested, it’s a red warning from the management to Howe. The club doesn’t want to back him and is preparing for something else. Per Howe’s record, we know he won’t last long - he simply doesn’t like to work in an environment without trust. Got it?
-
1. So Guehi is the only CB in the world better than Schar? 2. Then how about RW?
-
The hiring of Bunce is already the first warning sign, and then the departure of Amanda… The relationship between the management and Howe is deteriorating.
-
We all know how important it is for this season, a top 6 finish is the minimum requirement - and we have no reinforcements except that Osula. Of course we are at the corner already. If you know Mitchell’s history, he must not be the type of DOF that would go for “Guehi or nothing” route. This is totally opposite to his style.
-
I don’t think Howe has lost any goodwill. However I would say he didn’t help himself by backing the club to the corner, resulting a make-or-break season for both the club and himself. He didn’t get any reinforcement, his relationship with Mitchell in doubt, the players getting extra pressure… I think if there’s one more quarrelling with the management, he would simply walk and go for the England job.
-
Howe would get a full season, no doubt about that. Whether he would walked himself is another issue.
-
45m Euro. Fuck it. Just why?
-
The action speaks for itself. We would know it 30 hours later.
-
Then explain who made the decision “Guehi or nothing”?
-
I expected we won’t sign Guehi, but I genuinely didn’t expect we will sign fuck all. Seriously no fucking way we don’t have a plan B for Guehi after being quoted a ridiculous price several WEEKS ago. Anyone with common sense would go and explore / prepare / enquire other options as back up. And? We didn’t? Not even a loan or what? This is genuinely ridiculous, incompetent, unacceptable
-
I have been saying this for long. The club management is not working or functioning properly since Ashworth started the leave at Jan.
-
Transfermarkt figure is 72m, anyway. All inclusive
-
WTF, Mctominey is still here!
-
I can’t work out how you raised 100m by selling players. Don’t tell me that’s wages inclusive
-
same as the Forrest keeper for 23.6m. Everyone say zero chance. No way Anderson just go for 10-15m. And then?
-
As long as he got regular minutes then it’s fine. Meaningless to sit on the bench for Championship teams.
-
I really want Simakan. He might be even more useful than Guehi this season, playing RB occasionally and allows Livra to play LB, while Schar and Botman starting alongside Hope we really got him. That looks more like a game changer to me than Guehi.
-
Simakan would do it for me. Looks like Trippier could still give it a final shot this year. We can wait till next Jan / next summer to solve the RW. If no new CB then this window is just absolutely unacceptable
-
If Simakan or Silva is available (at a price we can afford), we should just close the deal and move on. With just 2 days left we can’t drag on with CP anymore.
-
I feel like signing a CB ver of Ben Arfa
-
Do it. I have had enough for Guehi saga. Just sign Simakan for whatever it takes.
-
I have doubt over Simakans defense positioning. Other than that he is probably a more natural successor of Schar than Guehi. He simply doesn’t play like a CB
-
that means they are trying to drum up interest. Our approach is probably legit
