I admit I am trying to speculate but imo 1. It should be Howe who wants Guehi so bad that he is willing to save the budget and wait till next window 2. Mitchell knows the consequence of doing so, but he choose to ignore it and follow Howe’s wish, because it’s Howe who would be accountable for the results, and then he could bring in his own people

Sometimes I do wonder whether you owe an apology to those that voiced our concerns re club management since January.
-
I don’t think I need to reply in this thread anymore, especially after this summer transfer window
-
Wow, the article, if you trust, confirmed that it’s Mitchell’s idea to go all-in Guehi, and no alternatives Just wow. speechless. Jesus. And I am correct, the club management has been in shambles since Ashworth stopped working.
-
Buy world class prospects from overseas, and develop local prospects yourself. That’s the best way to grow your club under PSR Buy inflated, fully developed, max priced player whose value will only go downwards, is the worst way This isn’t hard to grasp anyway
-
Normally the DOF should be held accountable for the transfers, but for this window, very likely it would not be on Mitchell. The whole fiasco is just so poorly handled that I can’t believe it’s directed by an experienced DOF Not that I want to call out Howe but if we failed to reach Top 6 this season, it must be Howe who is going to bye
-
in other words, same as last season, once Pope is injured we are done wheres the lesson learnt?
-
Asking for trouble - exactly.
-
Not only we need to win, we also need to pray for no injuries, especially Burn
-
and 10 months later, another lower than expected finish would 100% resulted in sacking of Howe. Do people really realize this?
-
You only need to know the impact to the team in 36 hours

Elanga is the type of winger Howe like. Lightning fast, excellent work rate and tactical discipline. He also has the tools to beat opponent by dribbling, although not elite. He won’t be an elite winger but he could evolve like Gordon and become a very solid starting RW. As long as we don’t pay over 35m then this is a very good move imo. Even if we fail to get the best out of him, we could still sell something like 25m next year which under PSR rules is just breakeven
-
Elanga is possible and logical. 35m sounds about right too. But Nunes? What?
-
Elanga, if at acceptable price range, is a good addition. Likely can recoup some value a few years later too.
-
by blocking Alex Murphy loan, pretty sure we are done for that position now just see whether they could bring a new RW or Trafford
-
The management has been doing a fucking shit job since January and we are finally at a point that most of us can see this, after failing such a crucial window that determines the future of most of our purple patches, and of course, Howe
-
Seriously, it is just ridiculous, unbelievable, unimaginable. I mean, what Howe / Mitchell is doing is (I don’t fucking care who made the decision), ALL the deals happening / happened to the clubs that are on par or lower than us, are deemed to be not good enough / not fit for purpose, and thus we won’t go for any of them. Guehi (or several other targets which we even don’t know exist or not), is the only one that “fit our criteria” All hail Guehi.
-
No, not good enough per Mitchell / Howe / whoever
-
There is not even one occasion that Guehi looks like want to leave CP, if I am being honest
-
I do think it’s worth to loan Chalobah now. At least got a cover
-
Add Murphy/Almiron to the list please
-
We definitely bid 50m for Olise. There must be at least 50m available, no matter what
-
that’s a way to read it. Another way is “without the spirit we are going to deep shit and so “no matter what” we have to be united”
-
The logic doesn’t stand. Ok it is difficult to bring in someone better than the aging Schar. Ok. how about Murphy/Almiron?
