then we should go for other target instead. I could see CP refuse to sell us if they cannot get the replacement in, and other targets being unavailable at the end of the window which also due to unable to find replacement on time.

If we have to sell Gordon for 80m, I would go for Wirtz

    Edmond Tapsoba

I think Tapsoba is the better player but Guehi does have extra value for his potential captain role Anyway we should have a price quotation from Leverkusen, hence we told CP our Guehi offer would be the final one and that’s why things got closer and closer.

    Kieran Trippier

I hope he does what he wants, and if he stays, just retire at end of this contract. He shouldn’t be forced out, and seems it’s not the case too

Guehi is replacing Schar. It would be Guehi + Botman / BDB and Schar on bench. Surprised that now the deal is 60m worth. If that’s the real price that it’s fine to me

    Kieran Trippier

Surely a big miss, especially our RW is now either Almiron or Murphy who aren’t good enough that said, I really not sure Trippier would be able to improve it now. Since his marriage problem broke out his form is outrageously bad.

It does have a feeling that it’s from Palace side again, to try to drag us further instead of going for other targets

That means we never offered to pay anything more than 60m upfront, and it has been for three weeks already re the 5m difference
  9. I wonder what price would Chelsea quote for those 20-22 players not wanted

    Edmond Tapsoba

exactly my thinking. Now we really could have around 2-30m for another RW

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

the problem will only get worse and worse when the players use value > market value, and that you would struggle to find buyers offering a fee that could make it worth to sell and then you will have no means to record a PSR profit / capacity that allows you to purchase new players replacing the old ones, the amortization loss keep on rolling. Old players keep on deteriorating but you can do nothing. Your hands are tied. It’s wrong to think we have gone through the toughest part of PSR (last Jun). In fact it will hit us the hardest this season and the next. I wonder who else can we sell at Jun 26 when our revenue is not high enough to meet PSR requirement. Anyway, no one wants to think that far. Just keep all the best players, buy a marque CB, finish Top 4 and get ECL revenue next season. Problem solved isn’t it?
  12. Kyogo is not a winger and he is 29….

which means his market value has already dropped below his clause price, and likely will keep on dropping

Yea it’s fucking bollocks if PSR doesn’t exist. I really agree with that.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

yea likely he will stay till 30 now, unless Real Madrid or Barca steps in. hence in the next few windows, if we encounter the PSR issue again, Miley / Gordon will likely be the one to be sold.

I detest that way of operation too but there’s no choice. Man City has my full support for the legal case

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

The reason why Joe is just worth 30m is that we already hold for too long….. I know people still hasn’t realised this but Bruno is probably too late to sell already, same case as Joelinton. Now tell me once Joe and Bruno started to decline two to three years later, where is the capacity we needed to replace them? No. There’s none, unless we are able to find a few more Minteh, who we are only able to find once in what? 30 years? we won’t be breakeven this year. We already started at a loss after player amortisation, and same for next year. The picture is really not as rosy as you think bro. you either sacrifice the short term league position for a more stable / healthy long term growth, or vice versa, and hope the extra revenue from ECL could cover that. The latter route involves much higher risk but seems we already made the choice.

That’s exactly what PSR limit your growth path and you have to sell your best players at max value, reinvest into a few more prospects and wait till their value maxed out again. In fact it’s very similar to the Spurs model, how they become the Big 6. Of course Spurs wanted to keep Carrick, Modric Bale etc but they didn’t, instead they fully made good use of the proceeds and invested into much more prospects and youth team. keeping hold of your best players for too long will only limits your capacity to improve your team for the next few windows. Of course we all wants to have the best team available for the upcoming season so we have the best shot for league position but that’s very risky for long term squad building. That why I said we better hope Howe did a magic again or we would be in great trouble.

I genuinely won’t say what happened last June is “FINE”. If that’s fine to you, fine. If that happens in my company, the PIC will be accountable and sacked.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

You have to change your mindset if you really want to comply with PSR. It’s the squad value that you have to manage, instead of just focusing on the quality of starting eleven sounds bullshit, but that’s what it should be under PSR. Anyway just stop it here

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Nah stop it. I don’t want to continue here. Basically everyone just try to ignore the PSR issue. Wait till next June then. Last summer we all said we would be fine, trust the management, we wouldn’t over spent. No worries. What happened last June? Oh yea this time they said “we won’t let it happen again”, but the amortised loss is still here isn’t it? We started this financial year with a huge loss again. It’s just hard facts.

That’s what I explained in the Minteh thread. The original plan by Ashworth is to sell Joe instead of extending his contract. Once Ashworth on leave, Howe and Staveley just scrapped the plan. I won’t repeat here. Pretty sure we could at least recoup around 30m which means we don’t need to sell both Minteh and Anderson. I don’t really care about Anderson anyway. That said it’s also true we will have a weaker squad this season, we may not get the three points against Soton. What we have instead is a solid starting RW whose value can keep on rising which will be good for us in long term. Unless Man City won the case and put an end to the bullshit PSR, this long term / short term problem will keep on coming back to hit us hard.

    Tosin Adarabioyo

You have to wonder why he is dropped, that likely he is deemed not good enough / worse than the likes of Badiashile and Disasi We might dodged a bullet
  24. Zero

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I would stay away from Disasi. Was the worst CB for Chelsea last season.

Should have gone for Tapsoba instead. Get it done ASAP
