The problem is debuchy + ben arfa = freedom for opponents on their left flank. The idea to play gouffran instead of ben arfa is very similar to how jonas took care of raylor 2 seasons back. It may be a bit unfair to ben arfa but i dont think we can defend that well last match if gouffrans not there. I think against lesser teams like norwich or crystal palace ben arfa should play on the right to kill off the opponents, while against strong teams like liverpool or everton ben arfa should play in the centre to contribute that extra quality without exposing our right flank. A big test for ben arfas talents and pardews management skills, but this should be done, and probably doing already.
