If Henry is a billionaire like Abramovich who wants to raise social status / increase his political power then yes, spending silly money isn't a problem because he is not aiming for monetary returns. However, what I think is, he isn't. Henry wants to copy Glazier's work and his is now "investing" money into the club and aim at getting returns, either by dividends or future sales of the club ownership. In this case, such silly spending will definitely backfire unless Dalglish did a miracle this season by climbing back to Big 4. But to do so they have to compete with Arsenal and Tottenham - which obviously they are still way behind in terms of squad strength.

Best is clearly unfit. He got it right to start Ba/Shola ahead of Best. If you want to have a dig on Pardew, you should criticize why play 2 forward when we are so defensive in the first half, and why Loven got a bench place ahead of Vuckic. I could guarantee you Arsenal would definitely finish higher than Liverpool at the end of this season. Their defense looks very solid, Song is immense, Rosicky back in form, Gervinho a lot more dangerous than Walcott and Arshavin (I'm serious). Yes they are unlikely the champion this season but they are still a far far better team than those outside big 4.

You need your head checked if you think his tactics was shit yesterday. How many players we are missing, and who are we playing at left back? Looking solid throughout the game, decent chance to get 1 point and almost get all 3 if Cabaye could bury the chance, what else could you ask for? Listen. 10 years before, Newcastle was a club that even the club was spending high in the market, there was still money left in the club and the chairman/owner can milk out remuneration/dividends every year. Now, Newcastle is a club that needs its owner to pump in 2m pounds per month in order to just to paying its running cost. If you still wanna complain that much, the first thing you should do is to support a 50% increase in ticket prices.

Larsson is a better replacement for Barton due to their similarities. However, to us, Obertan is a better option since we no longer rely on set pieces that much and now plays a more pacey, pass and move attacking style.
