The fact that only QPR made an offer for Barton is a great, great blow to him, and probably to Willie as well. Think, even those clubs like Bolton, Blackburn or Wolves didn't inquire him when he is available for free. This is "unbelievable" to him and to some of us, but that's the truth and it indicates what the people inside the football industry rate him. That's an interesting way to think about it. It's not like you have 50m net profit every year and so the 45m net spent + the new shirt deal means break even. No. My own projection shows that this year you would have a loss over 60m (since no matter what you won't have any Euro competition). That is a staggering amount that you should be really worrying at. Yes if you have built a new squad and this is strong enough to climb back to big4 and possibly challenge for CL next year then ok no problem, excellent work.
