Sadly, this.
-
And then you mutha fucka make a 1.5m bid for him? fxxk off.
-
Certainly. You are asking for 1m. Clubs would only be interested if it's -1m.
-
Mind to give a breakdown for the 400k figure?
-
someone bring up a good point at F365. Isn't a player doing a medical after agreeing personal terms?
-
I can understand why he has hesitation to join us. Obviously we are treating him as a back up no matter whether Enrique's sold. However if he goes to Everton, he could get the chance once Baines' sold. That's a huge difference, especially when he's approaching his best years.
-
Under Ashley, the player would only be sold when it is obviously a bargain (except Enrique, possibly) So I am not that worried.
-
You can't completely rule out the possibility though.
-
He will be in a hurry to do it if any big club is really interested. The "interest" can cool down very fast especially when there are substitutes in the market.
-
I don't understand. "he did fail a medical. #LFC thought they had him" Can I interpret it as Marveaux did not meet Liverpool's medical requirement and thus was offered an inferior contract which Liverpool thought he has no choice but to accept it?
-
Not fulfilling his ridiculous demand = Not supportive.

Isn't he currently earning 80k per week? Irrelevant - what he's on now doesn't mean we'd match that as a baseline; with clauses and bonuses it may begin to approach that but 100k or even 80k guaranteed? under mike ashley? I can't see it. Who says he's on 80k, btw? But why Sturridge has to take a pay cut and forgone Champions League matches in order to join us? Just for first team chances? He could get it in Chelsea next season as well. If he joins Newcastle, he must be at least earning the same wages as in Chelsea. That's the minimum. There's reports that he demands 75k to stay at Man City, and in the end Man City refuse to meet, and thus he joins Chelsea for free. That's where the basis of 80k comes from.
-
That's ridiculous Sturridge at least has Premiership pedigree. Wickham could easily be a complete failure in the Premiership. He's even riskier, even with the lower wages and transfer fee. I have given the same argument for selling Carroll: you never know what will happen to a player, it could be injury, it could be off-field problems, whatever. It is too risky to rely on only 1 player. The fees gained from Carroll's transfer is to let us diversify the risk. Say we can invest 35m into 4 new youngsters, 2 of them developed into the same class as Carroll while the other 2 failed. If we are going to sign a player which cost similar to Carroll's, THEN WHY SELL CARROLL? Just paid him 80k ffs.

"but it's not like we can afford to put all our eggs in one basket" This. I really feel very uncomfortable of spending so many money on 1 single player.
-
Here's my rough calculation about the real cost of getting Sturridge: Transfer fee=20m Wages=100k X 52 weeks X 5 years=26m Total cost=46m It does seems to be quite risky to me. I'd go for Wickham instead.
-
Raylor isn't that bad as a back up right back. If we can bring in an excellent right back, I am happy to see Simpson go (for a decent fee)
-
Yep, 30m is fair. In fact I would say 35m is more justified.
-
So far Mark Douglas is the most reliable one. May be they are told to keep the deal secret until it's completed (which is consistent with Douglas so far, just release the news a bit earlier than club official) but at this moment, if Douglas say it's fantasy, we better treat it as fantasy then.
-
I don't agree. We are just 2-3 players away from enough. Probably just a right back, striker and midfielder, and we still got 30m to spend. It is meaningless if we spend those money on 5-6 players now because we won't play them all as starter. We should target players that can definitely starting for us and so they are likely to cost a lot higher. Well, unless Carr can spot a few more bargains, but I really doubt that.
-
To be honest, wages are included. You know how Ashley do the calculations.
-
There's a question about Enrique's situation. Say, if he decided to stay and walk away for free next summer, and we failed to find a buyer, should we bring in a replacement now or next summer? M'Bengue is a good replacement, probably cost 8m or more, and there's no guarantee that such kinda replacement would be available next summer. If he is available now and Enrique's not going to stay, we should get him before we sold Enrique (if we can).
-
Right back is not our top priority. I would reserve 15m each for 1 striker and 1 left back. In case Enrique agrees to stay, those 15m would be used to invest in 1 more midfielder or right back. I am very pleased at what's going on so far.

He should be left, understudy of Jonas then. How about Shane then?
