  1. Just a question, how many matches are on live per matchday in UK?
  2. I don't see why the club has to pay for his bad decisions, he made them and he should pay for them. We want to have a good football club to support and watch, why should we wait year after year for him to claw back his cash that he gambled with in the first place? Good article that from TF, can't argue with it. Shepherd made the club pay for all his bad mistakes i.e. into more debt, while also taking a wage, bonus and dividends from the club over the years. This.
  3. I can explain a bit. Ashley originally means he would like to invest 20m per year for the club to "expand". So it's for transfer fees, and probably he thinks the club can finance its daily cost by its daily revenue, i.e. the working capital is balanced. However, after relegation, our revenue was greatly reduced and Llambias were saying Ashley has to fund around 2m per month in order for the club to keep running. That's probably for the working capital and was not related to the 20m above.
  4. I don't understand why we need to do a "fire-purchase" just to fulfill the "promise". Look at our recent record, Viana, Luque, Owen, Boumsong... all these were fucking silly deals with unreasonable wages. Are these kinda deals what we want? Coloccini has been very close to a failure mind you. I am not saying we shouldn't buy some quality replacements, but if they are only available for unreasonable prices, then why? If we spend like Liverpool and Sunderland, say 20m on Henderson and 15m on Gibson and Oshea, would you satisfied then? Never for me, never. That is fucking stupid. I would be fucking disappointed because we wasted 35m. If the money is still within the club and is available for us to spend when there is good deals available, like the HBA and Tiote one, then what's the problem?
  5. Then there's another question: should we use all the 35m generated immediately? Even if we have to pay over the odds e.g. 10m for Long? As long as Ashley didn't take away the money (including reducing the loan debt), and the money is still within the club and is ready for use, I really think we can't complain much.
  6. Are we entitled to complain that the owner does not put his own money into the club?

That is a signal we should send to other youngsters. Can't complain much.

    Other clubs' transfers

Seeing Eto'o play for Man City would truly depress me. Especially when you know it won't be for football reasons. To be fair to Eto'o, you could say it is for 'family reasons". He is the only hope of his big, big family and during interview he admit that he has to earn enough to ensure all his relatives can have a normal life. Because he doesn't earn enough at Inter to support his 'big, big family'. I remember he has mentioned something like 200 people, which a lot of them still living at Cameroon. He said there was never enough money to save his relatives out of poverty, and he has to earn as much as he can no matter what the others think.

  11. Mark Douglas will not give out any info that will affect our potential signings, especially for those in crucial stage. So if we did have talks with Bendtner, probably we are very closed to agreeing both the fees and the contract and the deal will wrap up very soon.
  12. wouldn't that go for other clubs aswell ? That's why I think Wigan is asking for too much and no one have made a bid
  13. Smith would have no chance to leave this summer. Yes he will be released next year but that's not accounted for now - not saying I agree with that but just I know Ashley would not be that lenient. Xisco --- the club does not want to loan out anymore, but no club wants to pay for him obviously Loven/Stroller/Best --- what club would spend money on them? If it's for free, we better just keep them for our own use.
  14. seriously ian, seriously? taking devils advocate to the extreme here like If wages are not considered, I'd agree with Ian.

    Copa América

I honestly believe Colo and Jonas should start for Argentina.
  16. I don't think we have to "fear" for not signing Erdinc.

You should sell Cesc to Man City or Real Madrid.
  20. A counter example for the "international team performance is irrelevant" is Zidane. He nearly won the WC2006 for France by himself despite having a poor squad and a shit coach. I am pretty sure if Zidane won the WC2006, he would be considered as similar level as the two greats. Messi is a sensational player but unless he can do similar wonders at international level he will not be considered as the greatest player, not even close to Pele and Maradona. The problem is, not only these two legends made the national team the World champion, even the likes of Beckenbauer and Zidane have done that before. There is a question that Messi cannot answer: why did those legends can turn their team into World champion but he cannot? You can blame his teammates, his coach, the tactics, whatsoever, but the question still exists, because there were precedents.
  21. Should we count Abeid as well? Or it's still not yet confirmed?
  22. He is the Argentinian player of the year I remember?
