Perez is a very interesting case. In a way, he disappointed lots of people here as we all believed that he has huge talent and should improve significantly by time, which was not the case on the pitch. That's one of the reason why he has played so many games and still learning his trade - sometimes great, sometimes frustrating, lots of ups and downs. He is still far from the finished article. However, what people ignored, or only very few mentioned, is the direction he is heading to. In the past he was extremely weak, great technique and vision and unable to hold up the ball, doesn't have the power to strike the ball, and mainly takes on the defender when he is fully accelerated and use his quick feet to get pass the defender. He didn't have enough stamina to sustain 90 mins. He always get muscled out. He is so weak that he always get into good position but unable to materialise. What he is doing now is completely different. He is strong enough to hold off lots of the challenges. He has enough stamina to run for 90 mins. His strike power has improved massively. And he doesn't seem to get slower too - the turn he did yesterday is pure class, great first touch, quick turn, great acceleration to take on the defender, and poor final execution. We don't have any player who can do this, not even Merino or Atsu, in the middle of the pitch. The only draw back I noticed is just his quick feet seems to become slower than before. Yes, ultimately it's the final ball that matters most, and Perez is still very frustrating in this area. However you shouldn't ignore the improvements he makes on other areas. Not every player, especially technique based, can changed and developed his body like what Perez did, and this allows Perez to be able to do a lot of stuff that normal players are unable to do even in EPL. That's what we have invested, and Perez obviously is heading to the right direction. We just need to, and we have to be patient. A classy no.10 is coming from our own hands, and we witnessing the process.

He gives a lot defensively, don't go over the top. We never got exposed in the middle thanks to Hayden and Merino.
-
I don't mind trying Shelvey and Merino next game. We are likely to lose anyway, why not give it a try?
-
Joselu finishing is a serious problem now.
-
Sub Murphy in to kill Bruno plz.
-
What the fuck was that Hayden
-
Clark looks short of confidence.
-
They are playing better in general, but we created better chances due to difference in quality.
-
Exactly. 380m sounds fair but 380m plus all the debts are simply ridiculous.
-
He was right to leave at that time. His only, and biggest mistake, is trusting Liverpools doctor and ruined his knee.
-
You can say so if your definition of very good manager should have bags of different tactics suitable for different types of players. Klopp isn't. In Dortmund he has Hummels and Subotic at their prime to support his ultra aggressive pressing, but now in Liverpool other than Matip all are not good enough to do the job.
-
You have to understand Klopps tactics and the difference between the two leagues. If Liverpool is playing in Bundesiga they should be champ already. The style is completely different and there is a reason why Liverpool under klopp always able to beat top teams who play football on the floor but lose to shit teams which give up possession and just hoof the ball forward.

I disagree. It's more down to the fact that good CM is scarce.
-
It could be the other way round, he stays therefore Rafa stays.
-
I agree he is a good central defender but obvious Rafa is asking for something that Mbemba isn't good at, which we believe it would be tactical discipline. And given our defense is so good now, we can't argue against Rafa decision.
-
Walking back straight to starting eleven after injury clearly shows Rafas faith on Mbemba now. It's different story on different position.

No, the second relegation is more down to hiring someone who is totally not up to the job. McClaren DID get financial backings from the fat cunt.

Correct me if I am wrong. We signed him for a staggering amount at that time, give him our highest wages, and in return he guided us to relegation with uncountable mistakes. It's when we was in Championship that he started to perform, and when we were back to EPL he gave us 1 year of world class performance. Then that's it. After the back home saga "let me go for free" he was never the same, and basically do nothing on and off the pitch. The only remarkable thing was he give Ba a head kick when Ba transferred to Chelsea and play against us.
-
And also I don't think Barton and Nolan justified their wages as well. Both are on 50K+. Wasn't Colo earned close to 80K? And give us back only 1 year of reliable performance?
-
We signed Ba (free), Marveaux (free), Santon (5m) and Cabaye (4m). The Carroll money simply wasn't spent. I remember Ba Marveaux Cabaye all having wages over 40K per week, never mind signing fees and agent fees. Not saying they didn't do a job but these deals definitely not as Rosy as portraited by the club. The Marveaux one is close to a scam. Mike Ashley has you very well trained. You completely forget we got rid of Barton and Nolan who were both on 40k+ wages for us as well. What the fuck are you on? I am just saying "free" is in fact not "free".

Troll. Aye, reckons Gayle would have finished those chances. Except he wouldn't have gotten those chances, because we'd have played s**** with him up front by himself. Exactly this. The more Joselu play, the more I think Gayle time is up here. It's not Joselu being a world beater, it's just Gayle doesn't fit the striker role under Rafa. It's bloody obvious.
-
Dummett is a decent backup for both positions, nothing more than that. No problem with him to start if we have injury crisis but we should have someone else to start. Luckily Mbemba seems to enjoy this new role.

One of the problem during Pardew era was that even though players transfer fees are cheap, the agent fees and the wages aren't. On the other hand we only targeted "bargaining deals" rather than "promising youngsters" which was fucking wrong both on and off the pitch. So we weren't rlly goin the Spurs route. We should be signing lots of players like Murphy which is talented, raw, come at a low wages, and with a lot to prove on the pitch.
