  1. Ashley owns the club. The club I love is owned by someone intent on destroying it. Would I support that? Not a chance. Not a single penny is going towards that. I know it isn't the same, but if Ashley was a murderer/rapist/paedophile/whatever I wouldn't support that either.
  2. Financially - not a chance. Matches, merch, nothing. A level of apathy towards Newcastle will probably settle in whilst Ashley is in charge.
  3. I always thought the people who accused Ashley of "destroying" the club were a bit hysterical, because it just seemed like he was just an idiot. But you can't fluke this kind of ineptitude. It is blatant. Totally agree.
  4. Joke. Will heavily consider no longer financially contributing or even caring about Newcastle United if Pardew is hired, for the entirety of Ashley's stewardship. Clear act of sabotage.
  5. Wouldn't sell Bale for anything less than £30m tbh. Anything under £20m would be a snip. Under the right guidance he could go on to be the best left sided player in the world.
  6. Gyan is better than Martins' like. Excellent work rate, hold up, link up play. Always looks for the ball, always there to be counted (for better or worse). Martins would hide. v2 would suggest an improved model like. But their not alike. Might as well call him Drogba-lite because he's an African Striker.

  8. Yep. I believe Nolan might even have a better more dynamic engine than Guthrie. Danny has nothing to him other than being technically sound.
  9. Definitely missed Nolan. Routledge and Guthrie are non-entities.
  10. Jonas was tactical but also lazy. Could've tracked him, the WB player was only halfway but Jonas just didn't fancy the chase. Campbell's wasn't really his fault. Barnes ran into him. The rest where stupid.
  11. To be honest. If Shephard was still in charge we would have gotten relegated anyway. We where not a sustainable club.
  12. Carroll better than Bent? Easy here lads. He's a proven Premiership play and goal scorer. Carroll is not, at this point that's all we can say.
  13. Good points. You can only judge how good any team is, until they play the best. This means against the likes of Germany, Spain, Holland, Spain, Portugal. Nothing will have changed against these teams, as they will shread to pieces our defence which tonight was very poor (i.e. Hart having to make a number of good saves). Qualifiers pointless? Coast through? Have we already forgotten we failed to qualify for the last Euro's? Portugal and France struggled to make it to the WC's too. Doing it based on rankings is stupid too. The same teams will automatically qualify and then most likely stay highly ranked. The qualifiers are 13 months long, not 2 years.
  14. I just think we need a new keeper by the summer at least.
  15. yeh it's harder to get called up to Brazil but that doesn't mean much beyond that. Elano started for them in the summer. He's not one of the best dozen players in that position.
  16. Shevchenko Giggs Weah Drogba to an extent.
  17. People are being stupid. This isn't even a Smith/Barton/Colo situation where they would be asking for the same money and getting rejected (which may well happen in the future). This is a lad trying to join The NUFC Gravy-Train that left last season. We're not even an established PL club at this point anymore. We shouldn't be handing out 35k 4 year contracts tbh.
  18. That's not a good excuse. They are wreckless challenges often. Joe Cole's red was just a clumsy attempt. Scholes is often very late and out of control of his body.
  19. Agreed. Scholes is a brilliant player but he's gotten away with a lot. He hasn't garnered a reputation for being dirty yet he's amassed something like a dozen red cards and could easily have had more. The fact that he's small and little also helps him to be honest. He's lucky to have not seriously injured someone in his career. A Patrick Vieira challenge of similar proportions would look much worse because of stature.
  20. FWIW my definition of a target man is perhaps unconventional - for me a target man has a lack of movement on the pitch if you like...has a singular way of playing and fighting the CB's for the ball within the width of the 18 yard box he's a target man because the rest of the team always know where he is, they don't need to be looking which side of the pitch he's ventured into before playing the pass 'cause he's always in the same sort of area ready to battle for the ball mick harford was a target man, for example That's like saying for a winger you have to be small quick and constantly whip in crosses. Robben has been the best winger in the World last season and he hardly ever uses his right foot despite playing their for both club and country. Or that a poacher can't have any strong physical characteristics. If you fulfil the role, you can be used as that kind of player no matter what else you can do.
  21. People have already mentioned Drogba. Adebayour is basically Drogba-lite, does he only count as a target man because he's kinda shit? Crouch regular in a team that finished 4th. Adebayour was a regular in a team regularly challenging in the latter stages of CL and Premiership.
  22. If a decent part of your role in a football team is to win headers (from a targeted long ball), hold up the ball and bring others into play you're a target man. In this day and age you also probably need other skills but that still makes you a target man. Drogba Crouch Llorente Klose RVP's role for Holland was basically a target man. He was just shit at it. Van Nistelrooy did that role excellently in Euro 2008 though. Dzeko Adebayor Santa Cruz
  23. I dunno like, that first game today made me want to put my head through a wall until the goal saved me. Then again the first half of the North Korea game was captivating, as a neutral. I still think the negatives of 0-0s are far more freqent than the positives. A 0-0 against Man Utd. on th first day of the season would be a beautiful affair. It would most likely be us defending all game and we'd do it beautifully.
