Totally agree with the Terry talk. For such an experienced player he has never looked comfortable in an England shirt. Ferdinand should've been named captain, Ferdinand is the first name on the team sheet imo.

Is Alan Smith the least value for money striker ever?
The College Dropout replied to a topic in Football
Carl Cort was our joint top scorer in one season, 7 i think. He also didn't earn as much as Smith but i'd still say Shev was worse value for money despite scoring a few. -
Sergei Rebrov launches repulsive racist rant

Yeah I was thinking that. Tottenham is North London & Croydon is deep, deep South London. Smertin must've got robbed or something in Croydon although I don't know why he would be there in the first place. -
Sergei Rebrov launches repulsive racist rant
The College Dropout replied to The College Dropout's topic in Football
He seems to be talking about robbery in particular. I can't be arsed to find the facts but i'm pretty sure you're most likely to get robbed in Central London much more than anywhere else in London (tourists get targeted). -
Former Spurs forward Sergei Rebrov has issued a despicable racist rant to Tottenham's new striker Roman Pavlyuchenko. When asked, by a Russian journalist, how Pavlyuchenko should adapt to British life, the former Ukraine forward Rebrov said: 'A lot of dark skinned people lived near White Hart Lane so the crime rate was high.' He also claimed that if Pavlyuchenko didn't want to be a 'robbery victim' he should avoid walking around the area close to the Spurs ground. Sergei Rebrov Rebrov, who was widely panned as a flop during his time at Spurs between 2000-2004, made his astonishing claims to Football Weekly magazine. His comments are sure to provoke widespread criticism, not least from those that live in the north London communities in and around Tottenham. He said: 'I wouldn't go for a walk on my own around White Hart Lane. 'A lot of dark skinned people live there. So naturally the crime rate is higher than anywhere else. 'It's not nice to be a robbery victim. So I suggest that Roman doesn't walk but drives around that area.' Pavlyuchenko is expected to join his new club Tottenham on Thursday after playing for the Russian national team in their World Cup qualifier against Wales. In the same article, ex-Fulham midfielder Alexei Smertin said: 'Of course there are districts where Roman shouldn't go on his own. Roman Pavlyuchenko Roman Pavlyuchenko will join Spurs this week after playing for Russia in their World Cup qualifier against Wales 'The first place that springs to mind is Croydon. It's populated with predominantly low income folks. But I can't see why Roman should find himself there - it's quite far from the Tottenham area.' Russian newspaper Sovetski Sport sent journalist Andrei Lyalin to check out the Tottenham area. Lyalin told his readers: 'Seven Sisters tube station is just ten minutes ride from the centre of London. I got out there and it occurred to me that the area looked as English as the Arsenal team. 'Broken windows of sooty brick houses, dirty shops selling cheap fruits and vegetables at every corner, immigrant teenage gangs on bikes.' He added that he was glad it was daylight when he went to the area, saying: 'Otherwise I would lose in the district much more than the £60 a black marketeer charged me for a ticket behind one of the goals.'

Is Alan Smith the least value for money striker ever?
The College Dropout replied to a topic in Football
Shevchenko was worst value for money despite scoring 9 or so goals. -
Yeah that's the thing. We where a good central midfielder away from me being happy with the window. Ashleys very tight.
-
No because he's Gianfranco Zola.
-
Better than Drogba. No chance. Adebayor is one of the most overrated footballers to walk on this earth imo. Adebayour misses more chances than any other Premiership football FACT. OK it isn't but it certainly seems that way.

Couldn't find a suitable replacement.

I think we kept Wise cause Ashley was happy with our signings - and so am i - what more did you want from him??? Genuine question: why do clubs have managers if all you need is a chief scout? Another one: how can any manager formulate a style of play when he's not getting to choose the players? Shoehorning the "best players" (ha) into a team does not work. You'd know that if you'd watched England at any time in the last ten years. Erm, to manage the playing staff? You know... like most jobs. 2. Signing specific types of players to carry out the roles. We needed a pacey winger, we've got one. A "target-man" style centre forward, i think we've signed one. Maybe Keegan had a different vision. I don't believe he was in a Martin Jol-like position where he asked for a defensive midfielder and the powers at be signed a striker instead.

quite possibly libelous If the money isn't invested in the squad, it has to go somewhere else. It seems to me that making the club profitable has a higher priority than making us competitive. The lack of investment is evidence of that. There's this place called a bank. We put money we make in it.
-
I agree with this but it's hardly a reason to resign. This is what I don't understand. That Ignacio fella is a short-term replacement for Milner, I accept this because it gives us time to look for a proper replacement. Overall I think we just missed out on another Central midfielder.
-
Yep something like he would rather lose for England than L'pool or something. Simply a prick. Say what you like about Beckham & Owen, atleast you know they regard playing for their country with the highest honour
-
He's a prick, you could tell anyway.
-
Remove N'Zogbia he loses the ball far too much. replace him with Geremi or Butt He's also too lazy.
-
Just imagine what the new players are thinking.
-
The fans need the club to communicate better. Obviously something happened today, if the club came out straight away rebuking the claims we probably wouldn't have dozens of people outside the ground protesting. Makes the club look like an utter farce.
-
I agree with what your saying mostly but City are in Europe this season. I think L'pool must be sold & Wenger will start to spend because the likes of City & Spurs will really be looking to close them down. Unless we develop some of our lads in to the next Vieira & Henry or we get taken over by some multi-billionnaire we will never be able to keep up with City & Spurs in the long term. Spurs & to a lesser extenrt City will be unpredictable this year but eventually unless something major happens they will cement themselves firmly above if they haven't already.

What are Ashley and co's intentions? Have they failed so far?
The College Dropout replied to Decky's topic in Football
Arsenal haven't won anything these last 4 or so years either. In the next few years Arsene is going to have to start spending big or else they'll fall right behind. -
Sol was in his pomp, rumours that he was going to Barca. He could probably get that £6-7m from City anyway, they are "ballin".

Paul Ince = tactical Genuis.

Before the Chelsea game kicked off, he was talking from Villa Park and said "I played with Robbie Keane at Liverpool". Oh dear Jamie. He said Tottenham didn't he? I would swear he said Liverpool because I remember shouting at him straight away and noticing that my missus didnt give a f*** at what I was saying You know what he meant. You were just looking for an excuse to berate him. It's because he played for L'Pool and Spurs, i'm sick of your biased twaddle.

It was indeed, as was some of his ball carrying runs. He's a very tidy player, very good close control and body strength too. However he like Jonas needs to make better use of those attributes in getting forward more to support and to take some chances when presented. He needs to do more in short where it matters most, further up the field. Does he have the athleticism to get up and down, across and over? I'm not so sure myself. If he could just add that to his game though he'd be dynamite. He'll never have the athleticism of Gerrard or even Jenas but if he could get a bit more physically fit as in stamina/engine he might be able to do that. We where always going to be overrun with Butt going up against Fab/Denilson as Guthrie is hardly blessed in this department. i thoght we should've perhaps atrted with 5 in midfield.. dare I say Smith's energy may have been useful today. Shola hasn't played a prolonged amount of Premiership football in years and was more woeful I thought.

Spurs will win. Mark my words.
