League phase win is like £2m right? 4 wins is good revenue

When is Dan Burn going to miss a game of note through pure selection? When he was getting ripped at LB did he ever get subbed?

Aye this is similar to Hall. We paid a premium for potential for sure. He’s developed loads since he’s joined but if we sold him we wouldn’t get particularly close to doubling our Money. As the initial fee had a premium. Milan tripled their money on Thiaw and it seems like he wasn’t a total hit there. The nature of our transfer policy and being a PL club makes 3x sales unlikely for 90% of our first team signings.

Maybe overpaid is the wrong word. We definitely paid a premium for him and others. It’s nearly always been worth it mind.

He’s a SAF Man U player. You can see sometimes he gets frustrated that some of the others aren’t on his level. He’s always on the move and making himself available. Sometimes the pass is too difficult for our player and they take the easy route out.

Monaco looked good. Was watching out for Akliouche - didn't really do anything outstanding but did get on the ball and play really well. Probably not vertical or quick enough for a Howe wide player. Rest of the Monaco team looked decent too.

That’s also because we’ve won. A draw or worse yesterday and the next 2 are must win. Where you finish in the play offs is also important. But for now there’s no reason we shouldn’t aim for 18 points.

We also have Pope, Burn, Joelinton, Elanga, Murphy and to some extent Gordon, Barnes & Tino who aren’t great at keeping possession. And we don’t play like we want to keep possession. Like Arsenal pretty much attack like they want to play against a low block. Push teams back and chest choke them with the passing into a mistake. Or a set piece. Even when there’s sometimes opportunity to hit the striker fast they’ll play it shorter and slow and build like that. We are the opposite. Sometimes when it’s time to just pass it around we’ll play a low percentage pass and just concede possession. The level of opposition is also a massive factor. USG were pony but at 2-0 they were in the ascendancy and we partly killed them off with good spells of possession.

Massive win that. A win away home was crucial. 1-4 points from the remaking away games is ok. If we can win the next 2 at home we’ll be in a great position. Winning our non Pot 1 home games is crucial too.

I like him. Quick and strong as owt and has ability.

I don’t think Howe has ever benched Dan Burn for a game of note. and it’s Botman > Hall in Howe’s eyes. Botman has played a lot of minutes recently so maybe he’s given a rest. But I expect Hall to be benched and Burn and Botman to start. If there’s one to drop out it’s Botman based on past Howe decisions.

Needs a new contract asap.

I’m calling Arsenal a super team as in a fully fit squad they’ll have Havertz, Eze, Madueke, Trossard, Merino, Ben White, Lewis Skelly, Mosquera, Norgaard and probably some others on the bench. That strength on the bench was a decisive factor. Our squad depth is improving but is still a level below.

Need to see him dribble and pass a bit more but it’s coming.
