  1. Don’t blame him at all for sitting. We’ll do good to get 50% of his wages off for this season. Problem with these lot. They’ve not contributed a lot to any team in a good few years.
  2. Tonali too to a degree. Not weeks of ‘links’ just the big story. Took weeks to finalise but the story came out the blue.
  3. I wasn’t big on Tierney. But Arsenal fans eating him highly has changed my perspective.
  4. If the 3 I like Miranda’s profile the most. Least hot on Hall. Just because at 18 he can’t be our #1 left back. Too much to expect of the lad imo.
  5. Honestly don’t know. The true answer is both or someone that can do both better then Burn which seems unlikely. Like Ake profile would be perfect. It depends on the quality of the player.
  6. He’s been a first team regular for most of his career in a 38 league season and managed over 30 league appearances once.
  7. ????? He has a contract that both parties agreed too. Man U want him to exit the contract and the money that was agreed so he can get paid less elsewhere while Man U pocket £30m? Ridiculous. Complaining about ‘player power’ in the PL is such a weird stance. That £8m is peanuts to Man U as an organisation and for its owners. They agreed to it so they should honour the value if they want rid of him.
  8. Aye Manchester United losing £40m because they won’t do the sensible thing. Great work.
  9. Cos we have Ashworth I think people have over inflated his contribution to their success. Or they think it’s one particular trick they’ve employed. And if we can sell a player or two the way Brighton have - we’ll be able to spend how we want.
  10. Bloom the owner is the main man. He owns a data analytics firm that has built a transfer model for them. He’s overseen the scouting network and approach. He’s Steve Jobs everyone else is Tony Faddell. He hires great people but he’s the man behind it all. Ashworth is not the reason they’ve gone from L1 to Europa league and 6th in the PL in 15 years.
  11. Keep scrolling or put me on ignore then.
  12. If I’m Fulham I would want £70m. Saudi have turned his head with the wages way above market value but trying to get him for Market value fee.
  13. On FM we have a sell on clause with Mitro. 25% or so of profit on the next transfer. Circa £5m if it’s true.
  14. Rewatched the game. Bruno was good in that first half. As the game wore on perhaps his fitness deteriorated. Sloppy passing. Getting caught in possession. Poor touches. A bozo yellow. Less of a factor on and off the ball. Hopefully it’s just a lack of match fitness. Interesting in the first half. We defended in a narrow 442. Almiron pressing up top. Second half we defended more 451. Villa defend in a mid block but keep a high line. Teams should look to exploit quality long balls from deep against them with runners.
  15. You need the RW as well? What bout the Jamaican lad?
  16. A lot of foreign players without PL experience…. It’s too much imo. They need to shift a few.
  17. Just seen Colbacks at QPR. 2 year deal. He’s now 33. Sunderland. Newcastle. Forest. QPR. PL and Champo 20-35. Give his agent a medal. He’s stolen a fantastic living from this game.
  18. Maybe I’m hating. But I think Villa are signing too many new players. One good thing about having a slightly small squad. Nearly everyone that expects to get minutes actually gets minutes. Only Targett and maybe Dubs (based on history) can have valid arguments about their game time.
  19. Will cost £60m and he’s not £60m good just yet.
  20. Yeh we ended up smashing them as the score line suggests. If it was a boxing match you would say it was pretty competitive for 7 or 8 rounds with 1 man having the upper hand. But thr last few rounds were a bartering and the other man absorbed a lot of hard blows and knockdowns ending in a devastating knockout. But it wasn’t one of them KOs where one team is completely blown out from the start and there’s never any jeopardy in the result.
  21. Agreed. For our tactics to work our CBs need to be super aggressive. Challenge for an opposition ball in the middle third of the pitch - sometimes pretty close to the final third. Schar is great at that. Agree 1v1 Burn is so bad and always needs help.
  22. Sorry you’re right. I think the first half was close but we edged it. We score 2 great goals and I think Watkins misses a decent opportunity. Gordon has Cash number. Our press is largely effective. But Villa are able to get at our back line. Second half Tonali begins to swagger. But Villa still look a threat and not out of the game. The defence looks susceptible at this point but truthfully so does ours (to a lesser degree). Some players are a bit sloppy especially in transition. After the 3rd we gradually become sharper and harder counter punchers as Villa chase. Isak has a good chance to score a hat trick and Villa miss a sitter. I think Cash moves into midfield at this point and gets the better of Burn a few times and looks a threat. Our subs come on and kill the game flat. It’s when the subs come that we really run away with it. The second half we are undoubtedly better but Villa still look a threat. Which is why I don’t get Ferguson’s comments. Villa looked dangerous and good in spots but never dominated any phase of the game. The only domination came from us at the back end of the game. If I’m a Villa fan there’s positives to take. Villa look like scoring a lot of goals - 2 lads upfront will bang. Coutinho looked good when he came on. The Mings injury is a big concern and I would wonder why Emery didn’t close up shop at 4-1. Protect your fighter and throw in the towel. Took a needless battering at the end there to the GD. Oh and Cash was bad defensively. Question why Young was released and not replaced.
  23. Wilson is desperate to play in the CL but I guess he has to look after his family. Coming through thr lower leagues he’s unlikely to have 8 figures in reserve at this point in his career. His next contract should secure that.
