  1. 1978-1982 and 1990-1992 What did you do about it at the time? And to be fair, I was 10 in 1978 so couldn't have cared less how shit it was as I was a starry eyed kid and just wanted to go to the match. 1990-92 I went home and away every week missing only the odd away game and even though the football was mostly atrocious it was a laugh with mates and was pissed most of the time anyway. So how was any of that worse then? 4 years and 2 years of being starry eyed and pissed vs 11 years of empty, soulless, hopeless misery. Standard of football was worse and so was the state of the ground (despite the neglect that people keep pointing out now). Otherwise there isn't a great deal of difference, particularly with the mckeag years where we just looked to survive in the old first division.
  2. 1978-1982 and 1990-1992 What did you do about it at the time? And to be fair, I was 10 in 1978 so couldn't have cared less how s*** it was as I was a starry eyed kid and just wanted to go to the match. 1990-92 I went home and away every week missing only the odd away game and even though the football was mostly atrocious it was a laugh with mates and was p*ssed most of the time anyway. But even back then, it was always the hope that kept you going......hope that you'd have a decent cup run, and one day we'd be back in the big league. There is literally no hope nowadays, especially when Benitez goes at the end of the season. Look at the time frames though. 1 x 4 year period and 1 x 2 year. Christ, we've just sat through 11 years of gash with Ashley, with seemingly another 11 on the cards as barely any of the match day fans want to do anything to even try and change it. We weren't particularly brilliant between 84 and 89 either mind!

  4. As far as I can tell it's contentious anyway. I know a few that have said the Ashley era is the worst they've experienced and there have been some that have posted about it on here too. To be fair they're similar in some ways and different in others. We were in the 2nd tier 78-82 and 90-92 and nearly in the 3rd tier at the back end of the 91/92 season BUT between then and Ashley taking over we've seen how good things could be and that clouds things a bit.
  5. 1978-1982 and 1990-1992 What did you do about it at the time? I went and supported the team.
  6. I thought it was the other way around? Fee agreed but his astronomical wage demands were the problem?
  7. Lot of "floating fans" paid for Blackburn tickets, lot of people took their kids when they don't have the chance to do so normally. lad in here has never normally went to the match as he's always played football on Saturdays and Sundays up until this season and took the opportunity to buy Blackburn tickets as a xmas present for his dad and went with him for a day out to include the match for example.
  8. Was she in a full hazmat suit with a look of pure disgust on her face? I never really noticed her or what she looked like!! I saw him, took a minute to register who he was (ie I looked and thought I know you, then twigged), saw the pram and then they were passed me.
  9. Isaac Hayden in Eldon Square at dinnertime with his lass and a bairn in a pushchair.
  10. Slightly different colours and the numbers and row letters are very confusing!
  11. I was in the Platinum Club today and i never saw any seats broken like that.
  12. First name on the team sheet for me, i'm a big fan.
  13. How was it awful from the manager? He can't risk the two or three players who are absolutely vital to us surviving, and we started the game on the front foot. The players were absolutely appalling today. It's his job to win football matches....fucks sake he can be blamed you know it's not illegal The shite tactics and way we play and approach games is down to him The whole setup stinks from top to bottom (a fish rots from the head, as they say) Get rid of Rafa and who you gonna get to come in? Rafa 'might' keep us up - Pardew/Allardyce, etc won't. Can you honestly say big Sam would get any worse from this group of players??? Sam is used to getting a tune from shite....Rafa isnt Literally the first post I saw in this thread, so thanks for giving me the signal to have the night off from N-O. The whole forum's gone to the dogs. People are saying we were shit.....we were People are saying Rafas tactics were shit .....they were Do we have to say Rafa is king no matter what? Gone to the dogs for having a genuine opinion on the state of it all, I’ve always been behind Rafa but tfuck me tonight he got it wrong again, at home, again. Convince me that We and Rafa are fine, go on. Even if I agree with you, how does any of it relate in any way to the blatant and obviously stupid suggestion that Sam fucking Allardyce would do a better job? Edit: And having a genuine opinion on the state of it all isn't why the forum's gone to the dogs, it's because examples of utterly stupid posts like the one above (comparing Rafa with Big Sam ffs ) have become more and more common over the last couple of years. I never ever said Allardyce is better than Rafa I said I don't believe that we'd be in any worse a position We are going down with everyone's Beloved Rafa and no one will blame him on here as he is impregnable If we went down with Allardyce it would be his fault no doubt Allardyce has worked with average shite all the time. Rafa has never had this level of shit to work with ever that's the reason I think we'd be no worse off But hey bury your head in the sand.... When Allardyce comes in and keeps a team up he invariably solves their defensive frailties and relies on clean sheets and keeping the score down. We do that anyway so i can't see how he'd improve us. We were very poor tonight as a team as we didn't look like a team, playing wingers but not feeding them the ball in front of them to run at full backs and get crosses in for example. Kenedy and Murphy were awful, Hayden was so far off the pace he was giving free kicks away repeatedly, Schar losing his head and getting involved in things too often and also giving the ball away with poor "pings". Plus points were 90 minutes for Lejeune who was canny and also a decent neat and tidy shift from Longstaff. Perez showed more class and guile in 10 minutes than the majority did in 90 and showed why he usually plays every week (and so he should no matter what a few stupid boo boys say).

    Jacob Murphy

He was very poor but so were others. Was arguing the toss about it with Rafa as he was subbed off.
  15. Spent a helluva lot of time berating the 4th official tonight. Even went straight up to after half time before ko to make a point about something he must have reviewed on screen at half time.
  16. Wins everything in the air, just never finds a team mate or looks remotely like scoring.

    Jacob Murphy

Aarons will surely just be to drum up interest so we can either flog him or get him out on loan? Murphy needs to play every week to build his confidence, being dropped after playing well (Everton) is hammering him.
  18. Was excellent for our goal today, great turn to take 2 of their players out of the game and good ball to Ritchie. He's looked very good these past few games.
  19. There were plans to build a purpose built ground next to the Bowling Club on Prince Consort Road a few years ago but nothing has ever come of it.

    Ki Sung-gone

The Asia Cup apparently starts on the 5th though. It's not right.

    Ki Sung-gone

Why have we been bullied into letting Ki go so early when Spurs have Son until January 12th?? STINKS
  22. I liked his movement and commitment at first, but you can't miss chances like the one he had in the first couple of minutes in this league playing for a team that creates absolutely fuck all.
