  1. getting back to the match rather than the outdated moronic chanting of a sizeable number of our "fans". As Brian Clough once famously shouted at someone called baz on a fly on the wall documentary , Joselu wants flogging for missing the target with that header in the first couple of minutes. Absolutely glorious chance and should have scored or at least hit the bloody target. Moronic defending from Lascelles for their opening goal, but Dummett and Fernandez were backing away in line with him as well leaving Lovren and others in acres of space. Why didn't anybody tell him to leave it? and if he had to head it why not just put it out for a corner that we could at least get set to defend. Rank stupidity from Dummett for the penalty. I know it was the slightest of tugs and Salah went down as if he had his legs swiped from under him, but he tugged him and no amount of VAR was going to over turn it, in fact VAR may well have given it if the referee hadn't. Joselu then very unlucky with his header in the second half and Longstaff very unlucky after selling the defenders a dummy but not Allison, but if you watched MOTD you wouldn't know that. We were swamped after the 2nd goal mind, could have been many more. And why the fuck has Ki left for the Asia Cup now, but Spurs are allowed to play Son until January 12th when they play for the same frigging country?
  2. How many times did he pass up the opportunity to cross as well though.
  3. I didn't think he was too bad and I didn't think Yedlin did any better. He at least crossed the ball when given the opportunity to do so, whereas Ritchie, Atsu and Dummett kept passing up the opportunity to put crosses in.
  4. We don't HAVE to play Hayden. We could play Longstaff instead or tinker a bit and play both Perez and Muto. I can't see anything other than a defeat, but I still think we'll be compact and competitive.
  5. Agree with this. It’s really up to the players to give fans something to get excited about and although we have a poor team, at home we don’t play in a way that would justify a bouncing atmosphere which often manifests itself aomtaneously when we are rallying from a poor refereeing decision or defending a 1-0 lead against a Man Utd with all hands on deck. At home to Fulham playing the way we did? I’m a big critic of our fans, but our performances at home have nothing to do with the atmosphere or lack of or the fans who are 95% supportive and understanding of the players and relatively calm even when losing or playing poorly against the bottom side in the league. Early 2nd half in particular the atmosphere was pretty good. As you say though, what happens on the pitch has a big bearing on the atmosphere from the stands as well. When there's nothing to shout about.......
  6. I didn't think there's or ours were penalties. Lascelles had his arm right against his chest and Kenedy was tangling with their defender as much as he was tangling with Kenedy. Awful game, we could have played until midnight and still have broken them down. Still though, if we'd drew 0-0 at Huddersfield and beat Fulham 1-0 there'd be less grumbling.
  7. Essien and Ballack are the only other two I remember Joe Cole
  8. Bigger capacity means more day trippers. The current capacity is enough to satisfy demand from actual fans. There's already plenty moaning about atmosphere, be even worse with a bigger influx of day trippers. The atmosphere was actually far better when we had a 36K capacity bowl.
  9. The Aboriginal Population would beg to differ.
  10. I'm sure we could knock it down a rebuild on the same spot to keep that enviable city center position. The thing is where do we relocate for a few years while it is built - I'm sure Sunderland would be happy to share their stadium You know for a fact the FA would force us to play our home games at the training ground. No special treatment for us. This is what I hate about the Wembley thing. Crowds should be limited to what the maximum capacity of WHL was. The capacity is restricted to 51K which is less than the capacity of the new WHL. Only some of the games are. Earlier in the season and last season they weren't. The deal to allow them to use it from December onwards restricted the capacity to 51K. Wrong. http://www.soccer-blogger.com/2017/12/20/tottenham-hotspur-crowds-at-wembley-2017-2018-attendances-stats-premier-league-champions-league-cup/ f*** me Neesy, what's with the Donald Trump stuff? Did you read what he wrote? https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/news/tottenham-wembley-season-new-stadium-15400190 The deal to stay on restricted capacity. We're apparently trying to negotiate an increase for certain games. My bad, yes it is restricted going forward. But it was suggested by upjest it was restricted last season which it clearly wasn't for most games. I never said that. I said it was restricted going forward as part of the deal for them to continue using it into 2019. You didn't say going forward in this quote initially when in reply to the original question. They only need it for 2 games in anycase in 2019. I think it's quite clear that I meant it was restricted now, I never mentioned last season or earlier in the season.

  14. Williamson was a second yellow I think? Was it? Was Janmaats a straight red then or was that a 2nd yellow as well?
  15. I take it you never watched us in the 90's. Or now. I've watched us since 1977 and have been a season ticket holder since 1982.
  16. Mike Williamson got sent off at Leicester for a much tamer challenge than that. Lascelles was very lucky not to get a red.
  17. Ayoze is a much better team player than Asprilla ever was. Not saying he has Asprillas's individual brilliance or flair, but he works harder and is selfless for the good of the team.
  18. Was limping badly down the tunnel at the end. Perhaps his toe still isn't right.
  19. Pretty sure we announced Boumsong and Babayaro before January 1st so that they were both signed and ready to play .
  20. Even Ki could have clipped his heel and took a tactical yellow. The goalscorer sprinted passed Kenedy though which was very poor.
  21. I'm not usually a fan but i thought he played very well today, linked up well with Ritchie down the left in the 2nd half in particular.
  22. Exactly. Someone should have stopped the run and someone (Kenedy) should have tracked the goalscorer.
  23. Yes and no from me. People were screaming and shouting about game management and taking it in the corner as i was leaving the ground but he had a chance to score or play someone in and win us the game and there's no better way to waste time and win the game than actually scoring a goal. Personally thought that in the context of the game both teams were going all out to win it late on and i can't fault him for it. He could have took it the corner and lost possession anyway, Aye, one of them was probably me and sorry mate but I disagree. Wolves had nowt all game except on the break and the chances they had all came from that kind of scenario. One's each in the 94th minute down to 10 men and I'd put my house on it that Shearer would have taken it to the corner. He probably would, but he also would most likely have kept it there and not lost possession whereas when we do that now we always seem to lose possession anyway going back a couple of seasons. Leeds in the championhip springs to mind where we did that and then lost it and they went and scored.
  24. We are the underdogs home and away thanks to Ashley and our game suits us on the road better and suits the opposition at our ground better as underdogs. To be an underdog at home in 2018 to a newly promoted Wolves or a Brighton or a Bournemouth says it all though. That entire midfield and attack works for us defensively off the ball very well at times, but offensively there is no real attacking threat or creativity on the ball going forward, which coupled with Rafa’s gameplan and tactics makes it hard for us to go at teams at home and get 3 points. This gameplan and tactics stems from having such a weak and limited midfield and attack of course. I’ve advocted we be more attacking and take more risks at home, which will be more pleasing on the eye, but I don’t think it would bring about a big enough change in results. Until Rafa is backed financialy where we can put out a better team than a lot of teams around us and with better attacking players, we will always be the underdog even at home and against teams like Brighton. Therefore points will always be hard to come by. Every home win under Rafa has been either a narrow win with backs to the wall football like against Man Utd last season, even afairs or against a team on holiday or in a bad run of form. The best we have played at home offensively was against Chelsea and Arsenal last season, but they were awful and going through the motions and even then they enjoyed more possession and had enough chances to win the game or get a point from it. I didn’t see our game today mind, but I wouldn’t be surprised even with 11 men if Wolves had more possession, more chances and looked the better team. This isn’t going to change unless Rafa gets the fund to replace that midfield and attack with some quality players on the ball and offensively. Our best offensive player is Kennedy, but he will spend more time in his own half than the opposition’s and on the ball less time with it in the final 3rd where the odd time he does, he’s going to struggle to do something positive because he’s not someone who can just produce some magic at the flick of a switch, less so when he does get the ball the nearest forward player is deep in our half or isolated up front on his own. That applies to Perez as well who when he does get on the ball free, he has to run at his man because there is no one to pass to or not enough bodies forward to create an attack. Because he’s weak and lacks pace he’ll run into trouble or lose the ball. Rondon spends more time 40 yards from goal and when he does get up where are the crosses? Where is the support? He’s effectively a defensive front man to win headers, fouls and try and hold the ball up. Without reading all of that, I thought we played really well today, especially second half when were down to 10 men. The injury time winner was a sickener but i can't get downheartened over that performance especially when players i don't particularly rate (Atsu) run their legs off and play really well. Need 6 points from the next 2 though.
  25. The goal keeper ran the length of the field to join in and the whole bench was onto the side of the pitch goin mental Like you say you'd think they'd just won the world cup.
