  2. True, but we're in the realistic part here. But I do agree with you. Add a physical centerback to it and we can start improving again.

Even if they both 'played' DM, they're completely different type of players.

Should remove Cabaye out of their equation. Why exactly? Was wondering that myself..... Toulalan is a DM this removes nothing. Nothing like each other except their white and french midfielders. Racist duo (the poster obviously).

  6. A winger/striker a la Remy is the most important part right now. I'm still convinced Gouff can play the striker role better than the wing role and hence I think someone like Remy means we could wait to get a striker in as we'd have Gouff, Rem and Cisse in front of Shola.

    Dan Gosling

Is it just me or does the kid have some problems maintaining a certain physique? He's either buff as fuck, think it was last pre-season or year before, and then he looks tiny months later, and then big again and then tiny again? Whats up with that?
  8. At the moment I'd be happy even with only Remy. I could live with Krul Deb Sayls Colo Santon Tiote Cabs Siss HBA Rem Ciss At least till january.

Was thinking the same. Wasn't he on like £25kp/w? Imagine if we got like £800k for him? Gosling + Perch = £1,5m +- £35-40kp/w in wages too. Pretty decent business.

Ibra is going. No way those two could play together somuch ego... Cavani and ego? are we talking about the same Cavani? The man works his bullocks off and consistently plays out of position for his country. Read that post that he wrote and was going to answer the exact same way as you. Vanbarpunk talks so much shite at times man

Think they went for Auba over Bernard, mainly due to Bernard's price was getting silly ( above 20m) As for Eriksen, Mkhitaryan is better IMO. Think Dortmund did well. I think of the four option Auba was the best option. I still can't decide whether Mkhi, Bernard or Eriksen should be the next in. For €30m I think Bernard is a better signing that Mkhi tbf. Different player tbf, i don't think the two are comparable.... Mkhi is a goal scoring AM and Bernard is a tricky winger. Be interested to see if they buy anyone else or Auba and Mkhi will be them done. Right, Bernard isn't really the typical tricky winger and can play centrally too. As for thinking I'd rather have Bernard over Mkhi is because you have Reus who plays really well centrally behind the main striker.

I hope he does well at Celta, but usually that doesn't mean much. We've had some great players in La Liga who ended up being nothing more than the above average player. Didn't know Rodrigo was his cousin.

    Loïc Remy

That very much depends on what the club's intentions are. Yep, I don't buy the 4-4-2 talk really, I'm hoping we're looking for someone who can operate wide of a 4-3-3. We'll see anyway. Hope you're right. We don't have the midfielders to play 4-4-2 or the strikers.

Where do you stand on it? Do you think Barca should agree, look to phase Xavi out maybe and place more trust in Thiago? Or do you not want this kind of demands at the club and feel he's over stepping his mark? Xavi needs replacement, and Thiago's the closest thing we have to that. I'd really want him to stay, but it's likely that this is not going to happen. He certainly is a brilliant prospect. That said, Thiago's coming across as a bit of a c***. He's played quite a bit these two years - more than Xavi or Iniesta when both were breaking into the squad -, and has yet never shown that he deserves to be in the starting XI like he seems to assume. He should have earnt it in the pitch instead of engineering a move. He's brazilian after all. :naughty:
  17. Can't, I actually like that shirt. Like I said I actually think the blue logo fits in nicely with the black, the match-kits are looking shite however with the logos (or even without).
  18. That one looks good even with the wonga logo on though. Got a soft spot for black shirts like that.

    Arouna Koné

    That escalated quickly.
  20. Give him a Championship loan til January and see how he gets on from there. I think he needs to go to League 1. Don't think many teams will play a kid who has gotten couple sub appearances. He'll need 2-year of loaning. If he does well in League 1 a Championship team will snap him up the following season. Still a very raw player.

Nope, MBiwa is a better player, but it's been quite obvious that MBiwa isn't physical enough to play alongside Colo at the moment, might be adaptation time needed but I don't think it looks like he'll compliment Colo. Also you rather have a versatile defender to play a position that we already have 3 defenders who can play it? MBiwa is our versatile defender until Colo leaves or retires. Debuchy, Santon, MBiwa and Tav are all players who can play the right back position. It's the least of our worries right now. I think a big, strong defender who can dominate in the air is the most important part missing for our back 4. Saylor is good, but not good enough if we really want to compete. As for striking options Cisse/Kone as our number 9 is good enough to compete, we still need a winger though. Agree with the first para. Not the second. I think Kone is a level down from a Remy. Absolutely, Remy is on another level and would require higher fee and higher wage. For me Remy should be signed but not as the number 9 but to replace Gouff on the left. Remy - Cisse/Kone - Benny, would definitely make us a top 10 side again if we can keep a cleansheet every now and then.

Better than Shola? I think this guy is better than Cisse almost personally. He's a very hardworking and intelligent player, and £5m for a striker that can play at this level for another 2-3 years is very good I think. If we sign him I'd be very happy. We still need a winger though to compliment Barfa on the other side and a new CB to compete/replace Saylor. Give him a year and he'll be as s*** as Shola. Right, I can say this much I rather spunk £5m on this guy than £5m on Bent. Personally feel he is a better fit for the team than Bent. Direct, hardworking, pacy, width - attributes that we could do with. Definitely. Most enjoyable Wigan player to watch. I just hope he signs and be happy to compete with Cisse. Although knowing Pardew this guy is going to play wide and Shola will still be playing up top for 30mins a game
