    Football pet hates

The Redknapps and Skys love in with them. Richard Keys and how he has the same conversation about zonal marking and Gerrards position in midfield every week. Arsehole journos who pick on decent managers like Grant, but wank over Souness, Big Sam, Moriniho and other gob shites. I know Jose is good, but the journos rank personality above ability. Henry Winter I'm looking at you. How journalists think they're speaking for the people, when usually they're against public opinion. Even more annoying is the clubs who make decisions reacting to the media rather than the fans. The 'big 4' Sky bollocks. Champions League group stage. The way southerners say Newcastle. Cockney players who can't put a sentance together properly. Plastic clubs like Bolton and Wigan. Clubs who strive to be 'family clubs' Stewards who give out pointless orders for no reason. Hard but fair tackles being given as fouls. And the refs who agree it was a foul like Poll.

    No. 1 striker

It would be great to see an out and out goalscorer here. If we had one, like a Beckford or a Fryatt, I would prefer to see Ranger up front with him rather than Carroll or Shola. Ranger works harder and will only get better. The other two are pretty limited in my opinion. If we go up though, none of the strikers we have have anything like enough quality to help keep us up.
  3. I would still like us to have a go. The games are played on a weekend anyway so arent like the League Cup where they can just tire players before league games. If I was a player I would be wanting the opportunity to test myself and an FA Cup run can boost moral. Of course the league is always more important, but thats the same every season whether you're challenging for Europe, promotion, or battling relegation.
  4. That is disgusting, but unfortunatly typical of the mackems. Its no surprise the place is a foothold for the BNP. scum
  5. Another game we win because we have so much more quality than the opposition. Would have been far more had we had a proper striker alongside Carroll or Ranger, and someone down one of the wings who can get a good delivery in. Jonas scares defenders and is an asset, but if we had someone down the other flank who could consistantly deliver a good ball we would be laughing our way to the title.
  6. I know it's not necessarily what he's saying, but I'd rather that than not get promoted this year. So would I, but we should be looking at going back up and staying up.
  7. I agree with that Bird article. If we go up and fail to invest in the summer we will rocket back down again next season.
  8. The man was a bully and a cunt. Im amazed at how much sence he seems to talk on Sky, until it comes to his own managerial record.
  9. A 3 year deal would be a bit stupid considering he sounds shit at PSG, never mind the Premier League.
  10. The TV deals are also split in favour of the Old Firm. Not sure what the new one is like, but in the past the Old Firm used to get something like 60% of TV money. The other 10 clubs got a share of the rest. At the start of last season the Old Firm decided they would start charging the other clubs for the sale of away tickets. So for example, when Hearts sent Rangers their allocation for Tynecastle, Rangers would charge Hearts a fee for every ticket sold. This meant that Rangers were getting money for tickets sold at away games. Not sure how it ended, but some clubs like Falkirk were just bumping up the prices of away tickets when Rangers and Celtic visited to cover the new charge. There was outrage from the supporters clubs of the Old Firm who blamed the other clubs, and not their own clubs. Both of the Old Firm in the past have bought some of the best players at other clubs like Riorden and Gow, and just let them rot in the reserves. I dont know if they ever intended playing. They probably just bought them to take away the competition. My point being, theyve tried their best to destroy the competition. Lets not mention the self interest in the formation of the SPL. Rangers and Celtic have dug their own grave. Let them fuckin rot in it!
  11. Has anyone an idea on what they're proposing without waiting for the full details tomorrow. Ive said in the past that I wasn't impressed when I went to a meeting, but it will be interesting to see who's all involved.
  12. 'Just right' i should have said.
  13. Thought the ratio between Ashley out, and supporting the team songs were just. Some of the people moaning about the 'Curva Nord' lads are pathetic. Snobs talking about chavs and stuff. Not sure how they expect lads that age to act. Calling them chavs and acting like theyre opinion is worthless is pretty low in my opinion. Quite bitter probably.

    If Ashley...

Its the least he should be doing. Any normal owner would.

By the way, for the shortfall, which I doubt is £50million. Just another easy round number for Llamblier to say, like the £20mil Ashley puts in, the £100mil Ashley wanted, or the million or so we will pay for players. Anyway, how much have we got back in the last year anyway. We made a transfer profit in January, how much? A massive transfer profit in the Summer, how much? A massive drop in wages during the summer. How much? We can't be that far away. And I doubt our turnover halved anyway. We had a new home top out as well.

Just got an email from my MP thanking me for bring the issue to his attention and he has signed the EDM against the renaming of St James'. So anyone in North Northumberland, Alan Beith has signed it. haha

The protest didn't work last time, and probably made things worse, however thats only because they were that strong, they stopped, everyone believed him and we just sat there as he tried to sell the club. Little did we know he was just waiting for things to die down a bit so he could take the club off the market again. Protests will only work if things are stepped up, people go further, and they last longer. Give him a reason to want to get out as quick as possible. Him and Llambais are just waiting for it to blow over again. If the peak is now, then they know it will only get better. It has to get worse and worse for them.
  18. We will get a totally shit make which can be bought cheap and sold at normal price.

I wonder if the signage will be up by Saturday.
  20. From True Faith. Quite good and I agree. Read that again. In exchange for a big fucking telly they want you to be happy with the name of St. James’ Park being turned into a bad e-mail address. They must think we’re thick. Well, frankly if we swallow this then we are. Jesus Christ. Llambias might have been a little bit more convincing had he said the money was going to be used to buy players to get us back into the PL and keep us in the PL rather than being trousered by his FCB boss. Or being used in a deal to buy those thick Geordies a fucking telly. Not that you can believe a word from anyone in any position of authority at St. James’ Park. Perhaps this latest line is part of their brand of “Public Relations”. Mind, its called lying where I come from but there you go we simple-minded Tyneside folk and our funny little ways about truth, integrity, tradition and heritage. Don’t swallow this latest shite. It has been your action that has flushed Llambias out into the open and which clearly has them rattled. Well done. Keep it up. Keep standing up for St. James’. It really is up to you. No-one else. There’s only us. No-one is going to do our fighting for us. We’re on our own. It was your action which brought out NEXUS to state categorically they would not rename the St James’ Metro Station. It was your action which brought out ADIDAS to state publicly they wanted nothing to do with this garbage of re-branding. It was your action which brought out a detailed statement from the City Council stating their public opposition to this flagrant attempt to denigrate one of Newcastle’s most significant land-marks. It was your action which brought the MP for Tyne Bridge, David Clelland to table an Early Day Motion in the Commons articulating opposition to this re-branding of St. James’ Park. It will be your action which will get your MP to sign that Early Day Motion. It will be your action which will bring out our MEPs to state their public opposition to the attempted re-branding of St. James’ Park. It will be your action at St. James’ Park on Saturday which will signal opposition to this corporate abortion. It will be your action which will deter corporations for having anything to do with this bollocks. We haven’t defeated this attack upon the traditions and heritage of Newcastle United. Yet. If we think we have then we are bigger fools than Ashley/Llambias possibly imagine. They think its alright if they give us a big telly. How cheap do they think we are? The name of St. James’ Park has endured more than 120 years and we’ve never needed a big telly in all of that time. The green rectangular bit with the white lines has done the trick up until now - win, lose or draw. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS CRAP. STAND UP FOR ST. JAMES’. IT’S UP TO YOU! That Is All.
  21. What would be the point of a protest well away from SJP? A protest should have no effect on the players anyway. Its just a shit excuse by them if they use it. Liverpool didnt seem to do badly after one on Sunday, did they?

    George Caulkin

Was it not Shepherd who was saying a few years ago to Sky that he would consider selling stadium naming rights, then made a joke about Sky Stadium.
  23. Will firemen and others who do dangerous jobs be given cheap tickets too?
