Alan Smith looks after himself, doesnt drink and seems to show an interest in whats going on around him. He's a good guy with a brilliant attitude. Its ashame he's shit, but I respect him and his attitude as much as anyone at our club.

You are going to cop it now for criticizing Shepherd. Oops!

Am I the only person who thinks this could be vital in our survival chances? He adds so much to our midfield when he plays and could be the drive in midfield we so badly need. A Newcastle team with Barton in is far stronger than one without him. I can still remember Sunderland away when both him and Jonas came on and totally changed our performance. It was too little too late in that game but the mackems were shitting themselves. Excluding the first 3 games, the best weve looked as a team all season was when Barton was playing against Villa. If he hits the ground running and can stay injury free for the final games, I believe his impact will be vitally important.

I would pinpoint Partizan as well. I also think Bobby started to lose the plot a bit during that season. Selling Solano was a massive mistake, and although we finished as high as 5th, in that season it was a low points total for that position. Liverpool were poor that season also and it seemed like we were both creeping over the line. I actually thought Bobby should have been moved upstairs at that point, around the same time Liverpool got rid of Houllier and appointed Benitez. We were still an attractive club for any manager at that time. Im sure Bobby would have moved upstairs and helped to find a successer and we would have had time to appoint someone good as we wouldn't have been short on applicants. The people in charge of Liverpool at the time however were more ambitious and clever that Shepherd. At that point, there was no reason to suggest that Liverpool would go on and become any better than us. We were about on par at the time. They made a good decision, and we didn't make one. When we eventually did sack Bobby in a disgraceful fashion it was terrible timing. We looked a joke because of it. The dressing room wasn't what it was, and Shepherd decided to bring in Souness, seemly for the sole reason of sorting out the dressing room. The only factor Shepherd could have taken into account looking at it. Whats sad is that since then there have been so many tipping moments where we could have gone either way. We could have corrected our mistakes and made the right decision to move forward so many times, but through Shepherd and now Ashley we continue to make bad decision after bad decision and we are where we are now. Every single managerial appointment since Robson has been a bad one. When weve had cash to spend, weve given it to the wrong person. I seriously believe if we had tossed a coin every time an important decision had to be made, we would be in a better position now than we are as a club.

I think the majority of fans have spotted and commented upon every single terrible appointment over the past 6 or 7 years. Its scary the number of terrible decision that have been made flying in the face of common sence.

I personally think 'We'll be coming' is an awful football song.

Shearer and Dowie spoke well. Very impressed. Obviously less impressed with Llambais who doesnt even have the balls to answer questions from the floor. Says it all.

Not Dowies biggest fan, but I would have taken him above Kinnear as boss. Can't be a bad thing having an ex-Prem manager as number two.
-
I don't think we can attract anyone of his standard under Ashley. You would have to be an idiot to come here at the moment.

Looks like the brown nosing worked. Well done Peter!

was that the last game before they demolished the old kop? Im sure the day they said goodbye to the old Kop Norwich beat them 1-0 with a Jeremy Goss goal!

What happened at Spurs? Sorry, wasnt old enough.

Its probably a bit late to protest. Ashley did a great job of stopping it all in September/October when he said he was selling the club. Everyone calmed down, accepted Kinnear as a short term manager and that Ashley would sell. Now however we see that all that shite from Ashley at the time was just to get the fans off his back for a bit. It worked and he took the club off the market again when things had calmed down enough. We made the mistake of believing Ashley at the time, everyone stopped the protests, he stuck his middle finger up at us, and we are where we are. It was a masterstroke by Ashley at the time. The fans and the media all fell for it.

Totally agree with the letter. On the subject of Calderwood, as anyone else managed to help two clubs get relegated in one season?
-
Not a chance. This poll says it all. Its totally boils my piss that the board want to keep him on. Its one of those situations which is so fuckin obviously the wrong decision. Its like whenever Chris Hutchings gets appointed somewhere, or when Sammy Lee was given the Bolton job, Adams at Portsmouth. Nearly every single person knows its going to go wrong and they'll be sacked within a year. I try not to think about it too much as I just get so annoyed I put myself in a bad mood for a few days.

Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season

The can all be camp and gay as long as they're keeping Shola out of the team. Shouldnt make a difference if he is. If he is it will be funny to see the reaction of all the insecure bigots in the ground. -

Get in, might have a chance with him now! -
I don't think Souness was the only reason for our decline, by any means. Also, with both Liverpool and us, he took over clubs at a bad time, but having said that, I think there's a flaw in his man management skills which regularly gets exposed when the going gets tough. So definitely not. It exasperates me that half the time we're talking about stability, and the other half we're talking about changing the manager yet again. This has been such a traumatic season, on and off the field, that we can't judge Kinnear at this point. He's been firefighting, and providing he still has the support of the dressing room, he should be given a summer transfer window and another season to show what he can do. Are you taking the piss?!! Shit managers shouldn't be given time as Souness proved. Stability is vital, but at the same time, its pointless with a shit manager in charge. Souness had 3 transfer windows and over £50million when taking us from 5th to 14th. I remember arseholes like Alan Hansen calling us who wanted him out fickle and telling us to give him time. Hanson and all the other idiots who said 'give him time' were proved wrong. He fucked us up.

This season has been a dream for him. Well good for him then.

I quite like the AC style one. Thanks for your input anyway.

I would assume he's at the game. Blackberrys are wonderfull things.

Enriques crossing is generally good though. The odd disappointing one, but most of the time he puts in a great ball.
