  1. Wish I'd read this thread before your 'Currently you are feeling...' thread, I would have picked a higher option than cautious. I was optimistic but the pessimists were getting to me and dragging me down. Read at least four seperate posters (probably many more) have decided Spidey is not good enough, if that's anything like a cross-section of match day fans he better skin a few players and set up a goal on his first home game or the twats will be booing him. And agree re Guthrie comments, high praise indeed; and if anyone can lift him quickly to the next level Keegan can.

    Long Term Strategy

It is a bit disconcerting like, I guess we're not used to the silence.
  3. 4 hours, 50 minutes and one month today, kick-off Old Trafford.
  4. I've been trying to work out what it was that caused you to write with such negativity and prejudice all the time. Thanks for explaining, I'll make allowances now.
  5. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20080716/tod-fbl-fra-eng-pr-marseille-chelsea-dro-7f81b96.html Check out the link then consider wether it would work here. Could we raise a few million to give to Ashley (Keegan) or would we keep our hands in our pockets? Not that there's anyone I can think of we'd particularly want to bring back from our recent history, there might be one day; or maybe we can just create a fans transfer fund.
  6. Who says we have? Even if this is true, he still needs to pass a medical, agree personal terms and meet with NE5's approval.

    Newcastle reserve

from .com yaddayaddayadda [snip] Kevin Keegan, Terry McDermott, Chris Hughton, recruitment co-ordinator Jeff Vetere and new youth supremo Richard Money were all present - along with Reserve team boss Adam Sadler and coach Robbie Elliott. They had very little positive to take from this early runout, with no less than five of United's starting XI currently on professional contracts at the club, but nobody in a black & white shirt looking superior to their part-time opponents. NUFC: Forster (Soderberg 46), J.Taylor, Tozer, Morris, Lough, Danquah (McCrudden 86), Marwood, Doninger (McLaughlin 76), Ferguson (Neary 77), Donaldson, Godsmark. Subs n/u: tbc. Ref: Scott Duncan Crowd: approx 250.
  8. If, IF, this is genuine then you have to wonder what the fuck Keegan was on about when he said that negative comment re: signing Sth Americans. Don't recall it word for word but Keegan doesn't talk just to hear the sound of his own voice.
  9. Stinks of Shepherd that, not a glamour player so don't offer him much. But this other lads supposed to be good, give him a bucketload.

    Budget Caps?

So do I, actually. You like starting the season knowing which teams will finish in the top three places?
  11. Struggling to accept he really believes that is a genuine possibility. More likely scenario is Newcastle are his least favourite team and his choice was made by emotion rather than reason.
  12. He might be a WUm but he provides some amusement also.
  13. I'm impressed enough signing a current Argentinian international at a good age, wether he works out in the EPL or not will be the final test.

    What happened?

I know what you're saying Dave. I get near depressed sometimes watching the threads descend into bickering about how crap things are. They don't know they're born, they don't!
  15. 5 of the 7 selected are away fixtures. Hope our away form improves.
  16. What I'd like to know is how complete buffoons get such responsible high-ranking jobs in the first place.
  17. Article didn't take long to lose all credibility as an accurate and thoughtful piece.

    Tony Green

I'd like to have seen that, moment of pure magic.
  19. They're right, most of the readers of the Sun react furiously to anything they read in there. Being a Sun reader requires a certain masochism.
  20. All it said was approached about a deal, makes no mention of what kind of deal. If Ashley wants to sell it's clearly up to him, but I think he is a bit more astute than to approach a company with no record of investment in sports teams on the off-chance they'd be interested. There are some big players in the City with no love lost for maverick Ashley, and the press can be bought and sold.
  21. A quick Google of, frank gilmour independent supporters association, and his name pops up everywhere using almost that exact phrase in each piece of press garbage.
  22. Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Brazilian striker Jo for an undisclosed club record fee. Liverpool have finalised the transfer of Switzerland international defender Philipp Degen on a free transfer from German club Borussia Dortmund.
  23. both sides were forced to sign gagging orders, banning them from ever disclosing details of the talks. Wonder who the third party was that forced them? And I wonder which side couldn't wait to break it?
  24. My guess, and it is just from what i've read on here, so it's a pretty wild guess... He's bought out his contract (with funds from us possibly) and Mallorca are left in a shitty position as they still owe his original Argentinian club some kind of payment. So Mallorca are going to try and get us to pay that as the player is no longer theirs. I'd say Mallorca are in a weak position myself. We will see. This Webster m'larkey needs looking at though, wide open for abuse and misuse.
