  1. It says out of the three, humour him, none of the above isn't one of the options. I voted Jim Smith btw.
  2. His win ratio throughout his career is hardly inspiring nor encouraging.
  3. spurs They never offered him it. Man Citeh. I got the impression it was Man City too.

So is that you officially full circle from your op?
  5. For the last 6 months, or more, we've been one of the cloggers.
  6. Have to say this morning, having thought about it going to sleep, if Ashley/Mort sacked Sam WITHOUT knowing who the replacement was then they're every bit as bad as almost everyone agreed Shepherd was. To have said au revoir to one trigger-happy regime only to have replaced it with another would be.. well it would be par for the course, wouldn't it. I'm back to praying it aint 'arry, that there's some dark horse outside everyones radar that's just waiting to be unveiled and surprise the crap out of everyone but mostly the arsey media machine.
  7. I think the mass negative reaction is a backlash from peoples own expectations being dashed. They thought we were going to hire a Lippi or a Mourinho because surely this guy Ashley is going to want the best. But when have Newcastle EVER signed a top drawer manager? Never. (Robson had been a top drawer but was in the twilight of his career when he arrived. Everyone knew that was a temporary shift from day one.) Now I don't know if Ashley ever even considered one of these Lippi types or at least discovered it was a non-starter. Maybe he just took advice from his mate Kelmsley. But if 'Arry is the next boss and he's given money to spend he'll get us into Europe faster than Sam would have. Given his age, Old 'arry might be thinking of jacking it all in 3 or 4 years from now, and, if we're in Europe regularly when that happens then maybe that elusive top drawer manager will finally become a reality. He gets my backing from day one if we start attacking again, may not have been my first choice, or even second or third, but he certainly was very far from last choice.

    Jose Mourinho

Won't be Mourinho either, thank God.

    Mark Hughes

It ain't going to be Hughes or Harry, Ashley will be aiming very much higher..
  10. I voted none of the above. Quite simply it's time to break the mould and hire an alien.

    If it is.....

    Another thread... :sad11:
  12. SSN has probably got shares in most of the bookies, it's in their interests to have punters backing all the wrong horses.
  13. Mort takes orders when all is said and done. He can't really be held accountable that one of those orders makes previous statements redundant.
  14. www.sportinglife.com Trying to imagine what Ashley and Kenwright would have to talk about... ... ......... .. Nah, mind's blank.
  15. How can you think he'd do well if you don't know much about him?
  16. He'd be as bad as Shepherd if he didn't. I was thinking on it before falling asleep last night. My best guess is that he'll be unveiled the day after Man Utd. (Would hardly be fair to any new boss to have to take that lot on as his first game.)
  17. What's almost as amazing is how many people make their minds up about what happened from pure speculation and couple of rumoured 'facts'.
  18. Possibly one of the most bizzare suggestions I have seen in a newspaper yet, from the Mirror: "One option likely to appeal to Ashley would be the prospect of Redknapp bringing his son, Jamie, to work alongside him." WTF!?
  19. Not sure about this tide of enthusiasm for Mourinho. Don't think the premiership is his ideal canvas, unless he has paints worth 300m.
  20. There should be a major uplift in playing from the boys, so i guess we'll only get beat by about 2 goals rather than the 4 that was on the way.
