  1. keeping costs as low as possible. Wages are a massive factor in club finances. Club the club running on as low as costs as possible, club is almost safe so its not that much of a gamble to flog your best player and not sign anyone...or go after any other first team places that need filling. But keeping costs low to the point where you miss out on players you can then "do a Cabaye with" isn't going to be in Ashley's best interests. Maybe he couldn't get the repalcements cheap and backed off or walked away. Yeah he very likely failed to bring people in under the budget available. With Ashley believing the budget isn't the problem.
  2. Why wouldn't Ashley want to make any signings if he's looking to sell players for a profit? If Kinnear was half competent their where players available to bring in cheap that could then be brought on and sold in the future for profit. So if that's what we believe Ashley's aim is then why would he not want Kinnear to bring anyone in? Kinnear simply failed miserably. Perhaps JK wanted a big chunk of the Cabaye money to pay for his replacement, But MA would only fund a derisory figure. leaving a near impossible challange. JK asked for more- we know hes not shy at coming forward, MA got rid. Seems a plausible sequence of events to me . I know it doesnt fit with, Go and die useless bastard, narrative here like. Anythings possible, I just think incompetence is very likely to have been the biggest reason. I mean we've had fourteen transfer windows with Ashley here. In three of those windows we've failed to sign a single first team player on a permanent deal. Two of them was with Kinnear as DOF.

  5. If we accept the cynical view that his policy with transfers is purely to bring in cheapish players that he believes can be sold for a big profit in the future then Kinnear has failed. After all you can't sell players for big profit unless you keep bringing in promising players. Doing nowt every window doesn't help anyone, not even Ashley.

    Remy Cabella

Anyone outside of the top 4 (and even sometimes them) are seen as a springboard for certain players, its hardly something that only happens at clubs like Wigan.. Good to see he's still interested anyway.
  7. Everything that happened today, all the shit performances from players and manager and Ben Arfa is the scapegoat? Hard to disagree with?, bollock IMO. Same as saying Sunderland could have scored loads more if they upped their game. Has this fucker watched Sunderland recently. They upped their game to the nth degree already.
  8. Ah like Ameobi and mr potato head, yeah probably.
  9. It wont, because after a clear out you need to spend money to replace the cleared out players. We wont. There shouldn't be a clear out anyway. Unless we're talking about Obertan, Shola, Gosling ect (or Pardew, Kinnear and Ashley).
  10. Why would a clear out happen Unless you mean the likes of Obertan, Marveaux, Ameobi, Gosling ect?
  11. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying its all ok because I think we might beat Chelsea. Just have a feeling he'll get a result there to delude people even further that he's not a horrendous piece of shit.
  12. Would rather him that JK. Why? Dont get it, nobody could be more incompetent.
  13. fucking exactly He does everything wrong. Keeps Ameobi on all game, has Santon wasting every set piece, he's worse than shit.
  14. have done, more thin than thick aswell. fuck man this is a good season comapred to most I've seen. Definitely, if he thinks this is bad he really hasn't seen much thin..
  15. Please go away, thanks. Come back when you've supported this club through thick and thin, tit. Is this you supporting through thick and thin then? Sober the fuck up.
  16. Not being sarcy or anything but is the club generating lots of cash for him? Or to put it another way has he got his money back yet? Again: Add to that the third biggest ground in the country, which is always pretty much full. Now we've raked in £33 million more than the second bottom club, £85m more than the club in 10th. I VERY much doubt that every club ablve 15th place is making tens of millions of pounds worth of loss every year, I find that impossible to believe. And many of these are smaller clubs with less earning potental, smaller grounds and no European football. Therefore the way I see it there are 2 possibilities here: 1) Newcastle United are generating vast amounts of money for Mike Ashley or 2) The people in charge of the finances are such incompetent retards that they need locking up. One of those simply has to be true. Given that Ashley is an acknowledged astute businessman who runs a tight ship, that helps us discount point 2). Therefore if the club claim they're not making a profit, I'd suggest they're lying. Maybe he's not got all his money back, but there's a hell of a lot he can help himself to if he wants. How much of that total was from when we were in the Championship?, over half of it I'm sure. Which was used to cover the losses for that season. Before you say it yes it was his fault we were in the Championship to begin with. But that doesnt change the financial situation. We should have £20m to spend right now if the club is to be ran on a break even basis (but a lot more than that next summer). If a significant portion doesnt get spent by the summer I think 100% of the fanbase will have the knives out for him.
  17. Wouldn't be a rounded argument if they ignored the Liverpool game.

Seems to be taking them quite a while to reject this apparent joke of an offer like..

13.5m Euros would back up the £11m claim. Which French media reported it and did they say anything about the source?

Another paper says £11m, and another £8.5m, depends who you believe.

    Where is £8.5m coming from?
