Pretty good goal scorer who's improved quite a bit recently. Always scored a reasonable number of goals, but over the last two seasons he's scored 30 league goals in 58 starts (14 in 29 in 2011/2012 and 16 in 29 in 2012/2013).

We're talking about the Premier League money effecting our finances, the money we last recieved from the Premier League was not an increased amount, it was from the last 3 year deal. Is that ok with you are should we witter on about when exactly we should consider something to have increased before eventually giving up in a page or so? not at all, i think the point you're missing is that if you start 2013/2014 season in the PL then you'll be due your cut of the increased money whether you stay up or not, therefore people were expecting as that is guaranteed the club might consider spending it in advance on actual football players certainly what i'd have liked to have seen btw, get fucked being so arsey about nowt I'm not missing that I just don't think that's what they were getting at. They was claiming Ashley must be taking money out of the club this season because we should obviously have more spare cash with the new TV money. What's wierd? If you play in the Premier League this season then you'll get the increased amount at the end plus you're guarenteed the new increased parachute payments. If the money had increased already then clubs would have been talking about the importance of being promoted to the Premier League for the 2012/2013 season.

The end of 2013/2014 season whichever way you define it (it hasn't started yet so its next season to me). I'll edit the year in to be clear.

TV money hasn't increased, it increases at the end of next season (end of 2013/2014 season to be clear). Not sure why people keep assuming we have that money already. Though yes I think we can afford any of the 3 strikers we've been after, considering we've offered £7m for Gomis.

Say what you want about Pardew, but Dave's post is spot on. He's ONCE AGAIN been fucked over in the summer by Ashley after whatever work he and Carr have done to line up targets and try to prepare for the season. What if they bring in Remy and Gomis then? Are you or Dave going to claim that any preparation Pardews been doing will be so specific to Bent alone that it'll be wasted on them?

I said a part of their career, everything a player does in Football is part of that obviously. Staying in the Championship for £15k extra per week wouldn't be Remy putting his career ahead of the World Cup, it would be damaging his career purely for a few extra quid. But Bent isn't the only proven goal scorer on earth and certainly isn't the only player we could sign who would benefit from crosses, he's also a far worse option to play up front with Cisse than the other two we're after. I don't see any preparation Pardew could have been doing with the team that would require Darren Bent to make it worthwhile. If we sign nobody up top when he's been promised we will then that's another matter.

I think you'll find the World Cup is part of a players career. I honestly don't know what your obsession with this is but I can assure you I wouldn't be hurt if a player wasn't interested in going to a World Cup, I'd think him an idiot and a very rare case though.

The Champions League is ever year, players have plenty of chances for that. The World Cup happens maybe 5 times in a players career at the very most But whatever man you just keep thinking that players don't want to go to the World Cup..

He'll be getting paid maybe £15k a week more than he'd get elsewhere to forgo his chances of going to the world cup, I'm sure he's chuffed When he signed for QPR I'm sure he thought that he'd either stay up with them or move this summer with no problem at all (hence the relegation release clause). Either way he'd be fine to still get into the France squad if he performed well. I doubt he expected to get done for rape and possibly be stuck in the Championship which gives him almost no chance of being selected. If you reckon he just isn't bothered about playing for France in the biggest Football event on earth you're mad IMO. I'd be absolutely amazed, nobody will take that kind of gamble on a possible rapist. Some good points there, didn't realise he was 29. 2 million for a player they no longer want and barely played for a season. He's 29, not 41 FFS. He's got a good few years left in the tank at this level. Also, he has a pretty impressive goalscoring record throughout the years, and most recently moved for a massive 24 million. They were never ever going to accept 2 million, therefore it's pretty much the definition of a pisstake that we even wasted their and our time suggesting it to them (whether we actually bid or not). He'll be 30 by mid season and his game is based on movement/burst of pace in the box, something that could go at any time now. He might have a couple of seasons left before he has to change his game (yeah good luck with that mr one dimensional). But to me age was never the biggest problem with the potential transfer, his suitability to our side was, especially with Cisse now staying.

Fair enough, just think usually when you say I'll give you X amount including bonuses you mean the bonuses are included within the X amount. Maybe our earlier offer was 8m including bonuses (say 7m + 1m bonuses) and its now 8m excluding bonuses (8m in one go). Or it could be fucking anything considering how reliable the media are.. At least the fact that its still dragging on with talk from that Aulas bloke continuing and constant reports in the media at least suggests its not dead.
